Why do some of you idiots think Obama is God-like and Bush was Satan-like? What are you basing this on? War on Terror? Frankly, I see the Kenyan pretty much continuing Bush's policies (the one thing to his credit). Illegal Immigrants? Do you think the Bush Administration would be filing lawsuits against Arizona? Deficits? Obama is Bush x 10. Obama was absolutely AWOL during the Gulf oil crisis (yeah, he made token appearances that even the leftards found pathetic) yet you want to excoriate Bush personally because it took the Federal Government 72 hours to fully respond to a local situation in New Orleans. Clint Didier (ex-tight end for the Redskins and Packards) just lost the GOP Senate nomination Dino Rossi in Washington. Didier is refusing to endorse Rossi unless Rossi commits to introducing Ron Paul's "Sanctity of Life Act" in the Senate. It's not going to happen. There wasn't any Constitutional amendment prior to 1973 and it wasn't a national issue. It only because a national issue when the Supreme Court overstepped it's bounds with the Roe decision in 1973. Paul is correct that abortion needs to go back to the states, as it was prior to Roe in 1973.

You're never going to get a constitutional amendment to outlaw abortion. But, if you can overturn Roe, the decision will go back to the states. A majority of states will put various restrictions on abortion. Some states will almost completely outlaw it. We can save some kids or we can let themall die. Paul has introduced the most pro-life bill in the Congress over the last several years. No one has introduced anything close. What's your problem with making some progress from the horrible situation we are in today?

I don't know. I suspect that he's a 100% states rights guy who sees any and all federal domestic authority as a treat to our liberty. History as shown that central authority ultimately lead to tyranny. So I can't blame him for being pragmatic. Regardless, the only hope we have today is to overturn Roe. It was improperly decided. One more good Supreme Court justice and it can be overturned. Paul's sanctity of life act does three things: A.) It defines that life begins at conception B.) It would recognized that each state has authority to protect the lives of unborn children residing in the jurisdiction of that state C.) It would amend the federal judicial code to remove Supreme Court and district court jurisdiction to review cases arising out of any statute, ordinance, rule, regulation, or practice, or any act interpreting such a measure This is great stuff. We should support it.
