The year of the draft that affected me I had a high lottery number, so I didn't go in the Army until Sep of 1976. I was suspended from high school for four days for going to the demonstration against the war on the New Haven CT green. We had a sit down strike in the school and the suspension was increased to 2 weeks and I got kicked off the National Honor Society. The two week period included finals week, and I played catch up my senior year in Eugene, OR. I studied the war and know quite a bit about it, and I am quite happy I didn't go. It was an illegal and immoral conflict we should of never gotten caught up in.
