Actually Mike Hagan and Ray Sewell were in business together downdown. Ray being the former cook for the Grateful Dead when on tour. Mike is originally from Eastern Oregon and has a conservative, cowboy streak in him. Ray is a great cook, though he's retired now due to illness.

Heh, it ain't a pissing contest Pound Puppie. Too bad you have had such experiences and wound up being a jaded, brain dead old fool in Steward's Folly. I used to work for the guy who had the UFO gallery/light show at 1608 Haight St. I didn't come west until 1972, so there is no way I could of gotten involved with the San Francisco scene. In fact, I'm generally not fond of California and usually don't go down there. Eugene, Oregon is a second home for much the Grateful Dead family types as Ken Kesey who died in 2001 lived here in Pleasant Hill. I spent some time on tour with the Dead, but as I worked as a tree planer and was in the U.S. Army nine years, I don't have as much time doing that as I wish I had had. I do actually know Counter Culture well, and you fit in actually. You are rude, egocentric and think the world owes you. Very typical of the 'up yours' generation. I am 56, and came in at the tail end of it all. Kids today tend to be quiet, more polite and cooperative with one another, and don't resemble your generation at all. You may not have the political opinions of the lefties in your generation, but you have all the negative aspects of their personalities. Trust me, it's obvious, and I know it well. Eugene, OR is an enclave of hippie culture. We still have many old folks like you, hippified kids of theirs' and their kids. Trustafarians who live on trust funds or inheritances, and all kinds of folks like this. You would fit right in here well. ;-D
