Title: Obama: Iraq Drawdown A Promise Kept

COLUMBUS, Ohio — President Barack Obama, stumping Wednesday in the first of two of the most crucial states for his reelection campaign, mentioned Iraq for the first time on his three-day trip.

“We are keeping the promise I made when I began my campaign for the presidency,” Obama said at a fundraiser at the Columbus Anthenaeum. “By the end of this month we will have removed 100,000 troops from Iraq and our combat mission will [end].”

Obama wasn’t technically in Ohio for himself, or to tout his own successes. He was there to raise money for the state party and Gov. Ted Strickland’s reelection bid — “The main reason I’m here,” Obama said.

But the significance of Ohio — a swing state with 20 electoral votes that has changed hands between Democratic and Republican presidents — was unmistakable.

“We delivered the presidency for Barack Obama!” Strickland exclaimed in his introduction of the president.

Moments later Obama told the estimated 700 donors that he might not be standing at the podium as president if it weren’t for them. “You were there when we were up. You were there when we were down,” he said.

In a sign of how much of a toss-up Ohio is, demonstrators lined the blocks around the Anthenaeum. Obama supporters — many organized by the state party — chanted “Yes we can!” while protesters hoisted anti-abortion signs and others that said “Stop spending now” and “FAILURE.”

Obama, who won Ohio with 52 percent of the vote in 2008 but now has an approval rating in the low 40s, continued to attack Republicans as a party with “an attitude of, ‘What’s good enough for me is good enough.’ ”

“We tried this philosophy for eight years — and it didn’t work out very well,” Obama said.

He mocked “the naysayers in Washington” and criticized the economic policies of the Bush administration, while urging Ohioans — most of whom disapprove of his job performance — to turn away from the GOP.

“I know times are tough and when times are tough, it can be easy to give into cynicism and to give into fear,” Obama said.

How about those jobs and the economy you fookin retard?

We lost 700k private sector jobs in the last month of Bush's presidency. We gained private sector jobs last month.

Why would you want to go back to losing 700k jobs a month?

Because the handwriting was on the wall with the socialist PIW.

You support the party that controlled the Congress and our economic policy in that last month.

telling indeed.

PS

It was more like 1.5 million jobs that the DNC controlled Congress killed in that last month.

We gained private sector jobs last month.

Last month.

And the amount was 12000.... not that you GOtobamaina69, are expected to have either the intellectual capacity to investigate deeper than DU for data, nor the honesty to admit your insipid repetitive lust for nuancing out whatever shines light of fact onto your statist poodle-dictator wannabe.

Break even number needed is 120000/month.

But what's so important about a missing zero eh?

AKA....this is precisely what I was commenting to you about.....this blatant lying/yardsign-ism adds nothing to the site....you might as well post those stupid little Pepsi like ripoff obama dope/hope logos on anything this drone posts up here....LOL!!!

I have a personal thing about just not faggotly bozoing any junkspinner anywhere....GO's barack swilling campaign billboard banality is water off my back.....but he sure can stink up the place maybe in other less tolerant people's eyes FWIW.

In his defense though I will note that just tonight I spotted the .02% of his posts that was NOT blatant barack hoselicking on GO's part when he actually posted something about airline fees:):).....though he likely tried mightily to find a way to spin some barack positive goop in there somewhere.

(I maybe assume GO is male ..... he may be a groupie or something though....then again, male-ness that would not preclude GO from being a groupie)

Death to everybody who does not get outta my way. Below is positively the most hilariously BS overflowing comment from the resident obamunist spent-condom EVER:) "This is WHY I left the GOP in the mid 90's. ." Dwarf

The Dhiminicrats controlled our economic policy since 2006.

Republicans controlled the Congress until January of 2007, and President Bush could sign or veto spending bills until January of 2009. And, except for a short time in the Obama presidency, no bill could pass the Senate without the GOP allowing it to pass.

You guys need a civics class.
