The biggest summer for racial tension since 1994 continues, this time with a strange, n-word-laden rant from what has been typically perceived as a fairly innocuous source: Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Speaking to a black caller who called for advice on handling racial tensions with her white husband, Dr. Laura uses the offensive word eleven times and ultimately tells the caller that if she doesn't "have a sense of humor," she should not "marry out of your race."
She doesn't even counsel. All she does is wait until an opening to say what she wants to say and then takes over and says her piece.
She doesn't listen to the callers. She doesn't care about the callers.
I haven't listened to Dr. Laura for about 10 years. They took her off the air after 911 and replaced her with Glenn Beck. Haven't heard her since. I remember her giving what seemed to me to be good advice.
I haven't heard her for that long either. I used to like her and thought she gave good advice. Then I realized she didn't listen to the callers and was frequently harsh. I think she's a self-serving bitch.
