Just because some blacks say nigger with impunity it doesn't make it acceptable to the woman who called...Lara Big Bush assumed that the caller had no issue with this because the caller was black...a racist assumption on her part. It'sc called the Fallacy of Negation...because blacks use the word nigger it's acceptable.
And saying "You black people love [whatever]..." most CERTAINLy has racial and stereotypical overtones.
Words have no intrinsic power. They are only as powerful as we allow them to be.

We've gone near nowhere with race on our own. We've needed laws and continued cajoling. You ask a black man if he'd rather have a job and be called nigger or have no job at all and his response would probably be what's the difference?
My worldview is man is NOT perfectible. He can be made better - he can create societies and in those societies he can address wrongs. But we will never achieve perfection on this Earth. Sorry. There are laws against murder, but murder will always happen.
Likewise there are policies that have been put in place to address egregious wrongs - people not being able to vote, get medical help, etc. simply due to the color of their skin. These are good things, and I applaud them.
But at some point, we have to say enough. Because - racism (like murder) is NEVER going to be completely extinguished. No matter how many laws are passed. Not as long as we remain human beings.
At some point, the law of diminishing returns kicks in. Continuing this view that "we have NOT progressed past racism" and "more laws are needed" fits the bill.
