A Catholic priest wanted on multiple outstanding country-wide warrants has been arrested on Vancouver Island. Sgt. Dean Jantzen said Phil Jacobs was picked up as he arrived in Canada at the Victoria airport on Wednesday.
Jacobs is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation.
He served as Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Saanich, near Victoria, from 1998 to 2002.
He is currently in custody awaiting a court appearance.
More information is expected at a press conference Friday afternoon at Saanich police headquarters.
