Then perhaps you can explain why the small-business confidence index fell 17 points to -28 in July - an all-time low since the index first was incepted in August of 2003.
Future expectations also fell to new lows. And while the "present situation" is a few points off the lows of early 2010, it's just barely-so.
CapEx expectations on a 12-month trailing basis are also in the toilet. Remember how I keep talking about these indicators - specifically communications and computers - in the durables index? Well, now you know why I look there.
Read the entire report. It's depressing, and it should be.
If you're a Wall Street Bankster, things are good. But if you're a small business - the engine of economic prosperity and job growth - the present situation sucks and in fact, if you look at those graphs, it never really recovered at all.
If Government gives a good damn about an economic recovery it must stop coddling the banksters and bankrupt those who caused this mess. They're not helping - and until small business confidence is recovered, which cannot happen so long as the people who ripped us all off are running wild and free, there will be no economic recovery of materiality.
