SPRING, Texas - FOX 26 News has learned a Houston priest has been arrested and is now facing criminal charges. Prosecutors say 57-year-old Stephen Burke has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.
Investigators say Burke turned in his church issued laptop for repairs in January when a tech allegedly discovered child porn on the computer.
Court records show Father Burke was the user who allegedly downloaded the images.
Burke was a priest at St. Anthony the Great Church in Spring, Texas.
A man, who now says he is the priest at the orthodox church, says Burke left St. Anthony back in January.
That priest declined to comment further.
It is unclear if any children in the church are involved in the case.
He was arrested Wednesday and has since bonded out of Harris County jail.
