Obama: Being An American Not A Matter Of "Blood Or Birth"

"Being an American is not a matter of blood or birth, it's a matter of faith," President Obama declared at a speech he gave on immigration.

Obama also blamed "resentment" to new immigrants on poor economic conditions.

"Now, we can't forget that this process of immigration and eventual inclusion has often been painful. Each new wave of immigrants has generated fear and resentments towards newcomers, particularly in times of economic upheaval," Obama said.

What does that have to do with the illegal aliens that come here and choose to remain His and Her Panics, not Americans?

He brought this up, but no legislation or details, to distract from horrific - and predicted - economic news, the incompetent response to the oil spill, the fact he bought cheeseburgers and spies for the Russians, the G20 leaders told him in effect to fuck off with his insane defict spending, Biden's gaffe per day routine, Hillary stealing his thunder, Bill Clinton backing Romanoff, sagging poll numbers for himself and his party, rising poll numbers for the GOP, another month of 360k worth of foreclosures, a 14 trillion dollar deficit, and a losing war in Afghanistan where he had to fire his handpicked and oh so liberal commander in that theater.

Plus naming Petreaus affirmed Bush's strategy in Iraq in 2007, which both he and Biden claimed would fail, and claimed Petreaus was a liar and incompetent.

Owe-bama HAD to change these topics. June 2010 is the new low watermark of this administration. It won't be the all time low watermark, however.

JMHO.

...he G20 leaders told him in effect to fuck off with his insane defict spending...

Please note the date

On 14 April 2004, IMF chief economist Raghuram Rajan issued a report on the impact of U.S. budgetary deficits on the world economy in the next 15 years. Because of increased U.S. government borrowing, owing to soaring defcits will reduce America's output by 3.7 percent and global economic output by 4.2 percent in the next 15 years. The monetarist economists blame the impending rising interest rates in the U.S. and around the world from 2005 to 2020. Though it inherited a surplus, the Bush administration will leave a legacy of the largest deficits in U.S. history and global economic contraction.

Did you get that - the international community was concerned about US deficit spending as early as 2004; Bush was president then and Congress belonged to the GOP.

Yes, in 2005 I 'got that'. Hence my voting against the GOP in 2006.

Since then, under OWE-BAMA, we've increased the projected deficit to almost 14 TRILLION, here, TODAY in July of 2010.

Do you GET that?

And thats just one of the many many reasons I'll be voting against the Democrats THIS YEAR.

You won't, however. Even though as you just reminded everyone in the forum, the deficits are much much worse TODAY then they were in 2004, when I got pissed off with the GOP.

Thats the difference between us. You put party first. I put country first.

Once upon a time I was a Republican, however the party left me (I would apologize to Reagan, but he ain't worth it).

Of course they are. What else would you expect?

Under uber liberals that supplant basic math and accepted general accounting principals for with liberal social theory?

Bankruptcy, and a recession thats verging on another Great Depression.

So, you going to vote for the Democrats this fall?

Darn right. Why would I vote for the party that set us up for this mess?

No surprise. A Owe-bama bot.

He' TRIPLED the deficit you complain about with Bush...and your going to vote Democrat?

That makes you a hypocrite.

No. It means I can see the difference between running a budget deficit when times are good and running a deficit when the economy turns to shit.

Actually, I might vote for a Republican if there was one with the guts to vote against the herd.

Running a deficit thats unsustainable is national suicide. And government spending doesn't 'stimulate' the economy, as history shows us time and time again.

You complain about deficits under Bush that were one third what we are running today, even though in 2004 the economy was booming.

Today, the economy is shedding jobs, the stockmarket is tanking, foreclosures are sky high, and there are more unemployed Americans alive today than at any point in our nation's history.

18 months in, the Administrations economic policy has been shown to be an unmitigated disaster.

And your going to vote for more of the same?

Sheesh.

The disaster goes back more than 18 months.

Have you ever noticed that it is easier and faster to break something than to fix it?
