Title: Lindsey Graham: The Tea Party Movement 'Will Die Out'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has some tough words for the Tea Party movement in a new profile in the New York Times: You have no vision, and you'll die out.

"The problem with the Tea Party, I think it's just unsustainable because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the country. It will die out," said Graham, who has come under fire from the right for being excessively moderate and compromising with Democrats.

Graham also said he challenged a group of Tea Partiers in a meeting: "'What do you want to do? You take back your country -- and do what with it?'...Everybody went from being kind of hostile to just dead silent."

"We don't have a lot of Reagan-type leaders in our party. Remember Ronald Reagan Democrats? I want a Republican that can attract Democrats," Graham also said, adding: "Ronald Reagan would have a hard time getting elected as a Republican today."

Graham better hope the Tea Party movement dies out in time for 2014, the next time he is up for re-election. A Public Policy Polling (D) survey from May found that among South Carolina Republican primary voters, only 40% approved of Graham, with 45% disapproving. And when asked whether they would support Graham or a conservative primary challenger, 57% would go for the challenger to only 32% for Graham.

If the Tea Partiers are still around in 2014, they'll remember these new quotes. Subscribe to *Elections 2010*

Graham knows he's in trouble next time he's up for reelection.

Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit.

"The problem with the Tea Party, I think it's just unsustainable because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the country.

Really? What is so incoherent about "The people govern the country by electing representatives that represent THEM instead of international bankers."?

Lady Lindsey has a brief safe period, but the next time she is up for election watch her pretend to swing to the right until after the election is over.

"I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago." (Sarah Palin,Dec 2009) ************************************ DID Palin say or write these things or not? (Me) I don't know or F ing care. Graham knows he's in trouble next time he's up for reelection.

You can see four years into the future?

He should have been in trouble in 2008, but what do you know, he's still there.

The same thing goes for McCain, who should be so far behind by now that he ought to be looking to get licensed to drive one of his wife's beer trucks.

Yes to the first.

As to the second, his moderate bullshit played well in the year of the Messiah.

McCain's blessed by the type of opposition he has with JD Hayworth.

Yes to the first.

I think my prediction of 3 GOP Senate seats lost, and between 6 - 8 House seats is proving to be correct. But I think I nailed this one. We'll see. Badeye posted on 2006-11-03 16:11:09 ET Reply Trace Actual results: House +31 Dems Senate +6 Dems

[Hillary] won't enter the DNC primaries...the only question is what the excuse will be when the time comes.

...McCain's chances of gaining the [2008] GOP nomination died in South Carolina in 2000, and simply won't ever recover.
