The horrible housing numbers has been bad news for lumber prices, something we've been paying close attention to lately.
Futures were down again 3% today, and have almost completed a full "reverse V," returning to crisis-days levels.
Learning a man that tried to destroy your company just got sentence to 18 months in prison, and fined $600,000 will make ya a happy happy man. What a great day. Now, all I have to do is select the right card to send him in prison lol.
I need a new deck on the one in the hills and I think I might add a bathroom to the one in town. I'm sorry, I must of reminded you that yours looks like a scow.
I posted an article couple of weeks back that suggested another housing bubble. In the Cincinnati area we have entire subdivisions..those 'showcase' or 'homarama' type McMansion things, that are sitting empty. Developers are paying a premium for security guards to keep an eye on em. Heard its the same way in Vegas.
Just wait til the administration can't hide behind a couple of hundred thousand temp workers. We're back on the downslope after the inevitable bump you get from throwing hundreds of billions of dollars against the wall, hoping it sticks.
It didn't...as many of us predicted accurately 15 months ago.

What did I lie about? And please give links to support your accusations. My business isn't going tits up either. Heh, but you need something to blame someone else for.
I think it's time for me to invest in real estate, mr. wrong.
Please do. Of course, you'd have to stop with the gambling addiction for a downpayment...and we both know you can't.

I'm afraid retail lumber is like retail gasoline. You gotta work thru existing inventory before the price comes down, but on the way up you need to pay for new stock or fill tanks at a higher price. Lag time gets the customer in both directions.
I was checking some woodworking lumber prices this morning and one place was still using their 2009 price list. They are out toward Pittsburgh and always have low prices, problem is the travel distance.
Locally I price Hearne Hardwoods, they have a great selection and fair prices. They are true pros who search the world for hardwoods.
