The polls missed Donald Trump’s election. Individual polls missed, at the state level and nationally (though national polls weren’t far off). So did aggregated polls. So did poll-based forecasts such as ours. And so did exit polls. The miss wasn’t unprecedented or even, these days, all that unusual. I did - I got 5 to 1 odds and cleaned up. Not as good as the 25-1 odds I got when I bet on Holyfield to beat Tyson in '96, but I'm not complaining.Where are all the posers who were so sure he was going to win and didn't take advantage of it?

On a personal note, I am very glad that Trump won (and I have been predicting it for about a year now). And I campaigned very hard for Trump in recent days. But it took me 5 hours to cast my vote today, and I am not at all sure that my vote was actually counted. To make a long story short, I recently moved, about 30 days ago, from one city in Texas (Alvin) to another nearby city (League City). And it so happens that they are in two different counties.
