Is Free Republic Truly Free and Conservative Post Date: 2016-11-11 10:14:09 by Lewis Stone

Is Free Republic really a free and conservative website? I think not. Yesterday I was summarily kicked off the website with no reason whatsoever. I believe there are some FR adherents who are sick and tired of the gestapo clique that evilly and anonymously controls and attacks anyone that does not post what they wish to see. Many are afraid to post as the fear is that they will be kicked out, or treated like HS sophomores and given time outs until they come to their senses. Moderators exercise their prejudices and engage in abusive and hateful behavior. Draining the swamp should include draining the Free Republic Website. Jim Robinson, owner of freerepublic.com, uses Google Analytics, a ...
Beware Trump’s Infrastructure Plan Post Date: 2016-11-11 09:27:32 by Willie Green

We dont know much about Donald Trumps plans for this new toy hes inherited called the worlds only superpower. But we know that he likes to put his name on things, which is why his prioritizing of an infrastructure program makes a lot of sense. He can barnstorm the country at ribbon-cutting ceremonies to show the tangible results of his presidencyin five block letters. An infrastructure program even has a whiff of bipartisanship. Practically all of the Democratic Party, from Bernie Sanders to Larry Summers, has been clamoring for it for years as a way to break out of our economic secular stagnation and take advantage of low interest rates. House ...

Team Trump is already filled with Washington insiders Post Date: 2016-11-11 06:21:48 by Willie Green

Washington (CNN) To shape his administration, President-elect Donald Trump is drawing squarely from the "swamp" he has pledged to drain. Trump's transition team is staffed with long-time Washington experts and lobbyists from K Street, think tanks and political offices. It's a far cry from Trump's campaign, which ended only Tuesday night, and message that he would "drain the swamp" in Washington. He has advocated congressional term limits and proposed a "five-point plan for ethics reform" that included strengthening restrictions on lobbying, including five-year bans for members and staff of the executive branch and Congress from lobbying, and ...

Trump: I’m Reopening 9/11 Investigation (George W. Bush lies and cover ups) Post Date: 2016-11-11 00:44:01 by Hondo68

Donald Trumps plans for his first 100 days in office are raising eyebrows around the world, but of all the items on his agenda it is the reopening of the 9/11 investigation that will provide the greatest earthquake for the establishment. Trump believes that 9/11 has not been properly investigated and he plans to get to the bottom of it. First of all, the original 9/11 investigation is a total mess and has to be reopened, Trump said. The election of Donald Trump has rocked the establishment and things are only going to get rockier for them during his first term. There is a reason George W. Bush didnt vote for Trump in the election, leaving the presidential line blank ...
Memo to Trump: ‘Action This Day!’ Post Date: 2016-11-11 00:41:39 by nativist nationalist

In victory, magnanimity! said Winston Churchill. Donald Trump should be magnanimous and gracious toward those whom he defeated this week, but his first duty is to keep faith with those who put their faith in him. The protests, riots and violence that have attended his triumph in city after city should only serve to steel his resolve. As for promptings that he reach out and reassure those upset by his victory, and trim or temper his agenda to pacify them, Trump should reject the poisoned chalice. This is the same old con. Trump should take as models the Democrats FDR and LBJ. Franklin Roosevelt, who had savaged Herbert Hoover as a big spender, ...

Why Trump Won and Why Clinton Lost Hillary Clintons stunning defeat reflected a gross misjudgment by the Democratic Party about the depth of populist anger against self-serving elites who have treated much of the country with disdain By Robert Parry November 10, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - "Consortium News " - In the end, Hillary Clinton became the face of a corrupt, arrogant and out-of-touch Establishment, while Donald Trump emerged as an almost perfectly imperfect vessel for a populist fury that had bubbled beneath the surface of America. There is clearly much to fear from a Trump presidency, especially coupled with continued Republican control of ...

Trump Faces Assassination By Paul Craig Roberts: November 10, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - "Pravda" - The US presidential election is historic, because the American people were able to defeat the oligarchs. Hillary Clinton, an agent for the oligarchy, was defeated despite the vicious media campaign against Donald Trump. This shows that both the political establishment of both political parties and the media no longer have credibility with the American people. It remains to be seen whether Trump can select and appoint a government that will serve him and his goals to restore American jobs and to establish friendly and respectful relations with Russia, China, ...

Thank you, Dr. Trump -- Our Stockholm Syndrome's finally been cured Post Date: 2016-11-10 19:00:32 by calcon

More than 15 years have passed since terrorists knocked down the World Trade Center, killing nearly 3,000 people. And I believe it has taken that long for America to begin to snap out of its version of Stockholm Syndrome and elect a president who doesnt try to appease our enemies by apologizing for what America represents and dissolving our patriotism in a meaningless ocean of globalism. "Stockholm Syndome," by the way, is the name given to a phenomenon that gripped hostages taken during a bank robbery in Sweden. The hostages unconsciously adopted the perspectives and demands of their captors, presumably because they intuited that they might not be killed by those who ...

President-elect Donald Trump and President Obama pledged Thursday to work together after their first meeting, starting the whirlwind transition that will unfold over the next 10 weeks until Trump is sworn into office Jan. 20. An hour and a half after Trump entered the White House through the South Lawn entrance avoiding news cameras and the president's staff a group of reporters was ushered into the Oval Office, where the president and president-elect were seated in the high-backed armchairs at the end of the room. In a sign of how tensions between the two politicians have not disappeared in the immediate aftermath of the election, the White House did not arrange for the ...
GOP Budget Axe Turns Trump's Wall Into a Fence Post Date: 2016-11-10 14:19:09 by Willie Green

President-elect Donald Trump once said, I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. But it turns out that glorious promise may wind up being a modest fence. Republicans in the House of Representatives are hoping to discuss an alternative border plan with Trump once his transition team is firmly set in place, Reuters reports. It could prove to be the first advance that House Republicans make in defusing the quixotic rhetoric from Trumps lengthy campaign. On Wednesday, just a day after Trump won the White House, congressional aides told Reuters that they plan on discussing a less costly option to Trumps grand and expensive wall. Their ...

Donald J. Trump is president-elect of the United States. Now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d write.
Against all odds and against all forms of the establishment, he prevailed. He won, legitimately, including in many states that were thought to be safely blue. The pundits and the polls were wrong. There was more pent-up hunger for change — and also racial, ethnic and economic angst — than many models considered.
Mr. Trump will become this country’s 45th president. For me, it is a truly shocking fact, a bitter pill to swallow. I remain convinced that this is one of the worst possible people who could be elected president. I remain convinced that Trump has a fundamentally flawed ...
Kremlin: Clinton Victory Would Have Led to World War 3 Between Russia and the US Post Date: 2016-11-10 09:42:15 by HomerBohn

Vladimir Putin was one of the first leaders to congratulate Donald Trump on his Presidential victory. In his greeting card, Putin expressed his confidence that a dialogue between Kremlin and Washington will be based on mutual respect and equal partnership. Mutual respect was the exact phrase that Trumps ex foreign policy adviser Carter Page used in his infamous speech at the School of Economics, a college in Moscow, back in July. He critiqued the Obama administration for its draconian practices, against Russia and pointed out the necessity of mutual respect. On Wednesday, Putin was quick to remind people about Trumps statements ...

All Americans who are alarmed, angry and disheartened that a large minority of our fellow citizens made Donald Trump the president-elect must quickly learn to distinguish between blame and responsibility. I freely admit that my own list of those who deserve to be held accountable is long. It includes Russian President Vladimir Putin, who intervened shamelessly in our internal affairs, and FBI Director James B. Comey, who, apparently under pressure from politicized bureau agents, changed the trajectory of the campaign and helped accomplish what the former KGB operative could not have achieved on his own. I blame Republican leaders who knew better but nonetheless aligned themselves with ...
Presidential Pollsters’ Political Contributions: Heavily For Hillary Clinton Post Date: 2016-11-10 02:12:21 by Roscoe

Federal Election Commission campaign-finance records show that top-level executives at some polling firms conducting presidential polls for major news agencies have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Democratic Party and to Hillary Clintons campaign in this election cycle. The volume and dollar amount of these contributions appear to vastly outweigh contributions made to Republicans and the Trump campaign. Click for Full Text!

The Polls Missed Trump. We Asked Pollsters Why. Post Date: 2016-11-09 17:50:28 by ConservingFreedom

The polls missed Donald Trumps election. Individual polls missed, at the state level and nationally (though national polls werent far off). So did aggregated polls. So did poll-based forecasts such as ours. And so did exit polls. The miss wasnt unprecedented or even, these days, all that unusual. Polls have missed recent elections in the U.S. and abroad by margins at least as big. Every poll, and every prediction based on it, is probabilistic in nature: Theres always a chance the leader loses. And Clinton probably didnt even lose the national popular vote; she just didnt win it by as much as polls suggested. But Tuesdays miss was an important one ...
Fed up with Washington, Trump's 'deplorables' shake up the elite Post Date: 2016-11-09 16:58:59 by redleghunter

MIAMI/WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Fed up with Washington and feeling left behind, supporters of Republican Donald Trump upended the U.S. presidential race, electing a political newcomer they say offers the country a shot at dramatic change. Once dismissed by Trump's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton as "deplorables," supporters interviewed on Tuesday shrugged off his late-night tweeted insults, allegations against him of sexual misconduct and dire warnings from many in the Republican establishment that the businessman-turned-reality-television-star would throw U.S. economic and foreign policy into disarray. The economy, terrorism and healthcare ranked as the top three ...

We've updated our electoral map for the final time in this topsy-turvy campaign year. For this version, our goal was no toss-ups. We're giving you our best estimates, based on public polling, state vote histories and the reporting done by our campaign staff, on which way we think each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia will fall this year. The previous version of the map had five toss-up states. In the end, we're predicting that three of them -- North Carolina, Ohio and Arizona -- will go for Hillary Clinton. Iowa will go to Donald Trump, we expect. So will Utah, where independent candidate Evan McMullin has been threatening Trump, but seems likely to come up ...
