GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) — Georgetown County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a middle school teacher accused of assaulting a student. According to GCSO officials, 29-year-old Morgan Minter Roundtree surrendered to deputies on April 18 and was charged with one count of assault and battery in the third degree. Roundtree is listed as an eighth grade social studies teacher at Carvers Bay Middle School where a resource officer was told about an argument that escalated into a physical attack. Roundtree is accused of slapping the student but no significant injuries were reported.
