A Grand Forks man who is a frequent Libertarian political candidate has been accused of domestic violence against his wife. Roland Clifford Riemers, 73, was charged Monday in Grand Forks District Court with simple assault-domestic violence, a Class B misdemeanor. He was booked Sunday evening into the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. Court documents accuse Riemers of striking his wife, Meixiang Lui, in the face and stomping on her foot, causing pain, swelling and bruising. The incident allegedly happened 2 a.m. Sunday.
