On Tuesday evening, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin hired Hulk Hogan’s lawyers and sued the New York Times for defamation for falsely accusing her in a June 14 editorial of inciting Jared Lee Loughner to shoot Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ). The Times’ editorial was published on the day that James Hodgkinson shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) while he was practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game with his GOP teammates. “Today, Sarah Palin took a stand against The New York Times Company by filing a lawsuit which seeks to hold The Times accountable for stating that Governor Palin is part of a ‘sickeningly familiar pattern’ of politically motivated ...

Does Marijuana Increase the Risk of Vehicle Crashes?

With decades of research, the link between alcohol and motor vehicle crashes is clear. But the research on cannabis and driving is mixed. driving and marijuana Last month a high school senior in Ohio drove off the road on the way home from prom, striking two utility poles and killing his passenger, 17-year-old Lindsey Rotuno. The Ohio Highway Patrol eventually confirmed that driver Chase Johnson, 18, had marijuana in his system. Rotuno was not wearing a seatbelt. Police are still investigating the crash, and the Lorain County prosecutor’s office has yet to determine if Johnson will face charges. But some opponents of marijuana legalization are concerned that these types of crashes ...

Man Jailed After Drywall Powder Mistaken For Cocaine

A Florida man spent 90 days in jail after police officers who stopped him for driving without headlights said white powder found in his car was cocaine. But Karlos Cashe walked out of jail last week after lab results determined the powder in the handyman’s car was actually drywall. Cashe tells WFTV he repeatedly told officers in Oviedo the substance was drywall. But after running a check they found he was on probation for marijuana and cocaine charges in 2015. Cashe says a K-9 alerted on his vehicle and an officer’s field test was positive for cocaine. Court records show he was denied bond because he was accused of violating probation. It took nearly three months for lab test ...

Clarence Thomas: ‘Improbable’ that 2nd Amendment Only Protects Carrying a Gun in Your Home

In his dissent to the Supreme Court of the United State’s (SCOTUS) June 26 announcement that it would not review Peruta v. California, Justice Clarence Thomas contended he finds it “improbable” that the Second Amendment only protects a right to carry a gun in one’s own home. Peruta has become on the focal point of opposition to California’s “good cause” requirement for issuance of concealed carry permits. On January 12, 2017, Breitbart News reported that SCOTUS was asked to review Peruta in hopes of securing a ruling in support of the fundamental right to bear arms. Petitioners specifically wanted SCOTUS to rule “whether the Second Amendment ...

Justices Thomas and Gorsuch: Supreme Court Should Take More Second Amendment Cases
Post Date: 2017-06-27 15:21:11 by cranky

Gun owners were disappointed Monday when the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take perhaps the highest-profile Second Amendment case in the country right now: Peruta v. California. Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch share those gun owners’ disappointment, declaring the need for the nation’s highest court to require adherence to its Second Amendment precedents. The Supreme Court has only decided two cases on the right to keep and bear arms: D.C. v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago. Both involved a law-abiding citizen seeking a handgun in his home for personal protection. Peruta took a logical next step, involving an elderly law-abiding citizen who wanted the opportunity to ...

After Getting Busted for Bombing Syria Based On a Lie, Trump Doubles Down … Threatens to Bomb Syria Even Harder Based On Same BS

A report yesterday by the Pulitzer-prize winning reporter who broke some of the biggest stories of the Vietnam and Iraq wars showed that Trump bombed Syria on April 4th based upon false pretenses. Specifically, Trump said the Syrian government carried out a chemical weapons attack on civilians, but U.S. military and intelligence officials say that they told Trump there was no evidence for that claim … and they say that what really happened is that Syria bombed Islamic terrorists, and that accidentally released chemicals being stored by the terrorists. So how does Trump respond to the report? He doubles down on the bull … White House spokesman Sean Spicer said tonight: The United ...

New Study Finds Marijuana Users Are Happier And More Successful In Life

Shattering the stereotype of the lazy pothead, new research suggests cannabis users are actually more satisfied, more successful, and even more likely to volunteer in their communities than their nonsmoking counterparts. Last week, the Independent described to its readers how the research was carried out: “The study, conducted by market researchers BDS Analytics, surveyed consumers and abstainers across a wide variety of mental, social and financial factors. These included life satisfaction levels, attitudes towards parenting and employment data.   "The survey analysed extensive data from two US states that have voted to legalise the sale of cannabis — California and ...

Lansing, MI — Parents of a 15-year-old boy are outraged this week after a cell phone video showed an off-duty Lansing police officer pin down their son and hold him to the ground by his throat — for being in his front yard. The video was taken Saturday and it shows 15-year-old Jordan Brunson scared for his life as an off-duty Lansing cop physically and verbally assaults him. The officer accuses the teens, Brunson and the teen filming, of trespassing and says he is holding him down until other officers arrive on the scene. “I was scared, but I was trying to keep calm at the same time,” Brunson says. The teen filming had just been beaten up pretty bad by another group of ...

Kennewick, WA — A 38-year-old homeless man was attempting to earn some honest money by providing a much-desired service to the residents of Kennewick, Washington last week, when he was threatened with extortion and arrest by the local police department who effectively ended his enterprise. After the Kennewick Police Department threatened the homeless man and prevented him from making a living, they took to Facebook to shamelessly brag about it. However, Facebook was not buying it. The homeless man was not selling drugs, panhandling, or harassing local businesses and their patrons. He was providing willing customers, who were in need of bicycle repairs, with a service for which they ...

A plane leaves Los Angeles airport under the control of a Jewish captain. His copilot is Chinese. It’s the first time they’ve flown together, and an awkward silence between the two seems to indicate a mutual dislike.   Once they reach cruising altitude, the Jewish captain activates the auto-pilot, leans back in his seat, and mutters, ‘I don’t like Chinese.’ ‘No rike Chinese?’ asks the copilot, ‘….why not?’ ‘You people bombed Pearl Harbor, that’s why !’ ‘No, no,’ the co-pilot protests, ‘Chinese not bomb Peahl Hahbah! That Japanese, not Chinese.’ ‘Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese… doesn’t ...

Liberal Nightmares Come True as Gorsuch Begins to Cast SCOTUS Votes

Two Supreme Court actions today have served to pretty much confirm what liberals had feared and conservatives were terrified to hope which is that newly appointed Supreme Court Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch is a conservative in the tradition of Antonin Scalia. In a concurrence to the Trinity Lutheran case, he says the court did not go far enough in protecting religious freedom from government interference. Keep in mind this is a case that caused the half wit wise Latina, Sonia Sotomayor, to read her dissent from the bench with duct tape wrapped around her head. In the second case, Gorsuch would have lifted all the lower court injunctions against President Trump’s ban on travel to the ...

Why Is Donald Trump Enabling Russian Espionage in America?

White House refuses to push back on aggressive Kremlin spying How the Obama administration mishandled clandestine Russian interference in last year’s election has become the talk of the town—and social media—thanks to a new, detailed report by The Washington Post. That piece portrays a White House in disarray through 2016, unable to decide what to do about Kremlin meddling, despite high-grade intelligence confirming Vladimir Putin ordered his spy services to create electoral mayhem in America. Of course, I told you that months ago, and Barack Obama’s reputation for diffidence and indecision—particularly regarding Russia, which was by no means confined to 20 ...

Project Veritas Undercover Investigation: CNN Producer Admits Network Hyping ‘Mostly Bullsh*t’ Trump-Russia Scandal for ‘Ratings’

James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has struck again: This time, a senior CNN producer was caught on camera by one of O’Keefe’s investigators admitting that the network’s relentless bashing of President Donald Trump with the Russia scandal lacks proof. “Could be bullshit. I mean, it’s mostly bullshit right now,” the CNN producer, John Bonifield, said in a video O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released on Tuesday, when asked about his thoughts on the Russia investigation. “Like, we don’t have any giant proof. Then they say, well there’s still an investigation going on. And you’re like, yeah, I don’t know. If they were finding ...

Runaway roofers who removed the wrong roof tracked down by St. Louis neighbors

It was the mystery of the missing roof. On Friday, St. Louis resident Laura McInnis discovered that nearly half the shingles on her perfectly good roof were missing. A haphazardly secured tarp covered the damage. A pile of tiles were strewn on her property, with some beer bottles mixed in. “I had no idea what happened,” she said. McInnis had just moved to Michigan with her husband, Chris McInnis. The couple were set to close the sale of their house in the 5600 block of Rosa Avenue in the Princeton Heights neighborhood. But on Friday, Laura McInnis was contacted by a watchful neighbor. “The tarp your roofers put on yesterday is starting to blow up and back,” her ...

The 2014 movie “Kill the Messenger” is excellent in telling the true story of Gary Webb. He was an investigative reporter for the San Jose Mercury News. We need to understand that his reporting was accurate in connecting the CIA with the Contras and their drug operations. This is now official. Documents attesting to the facts can be read in The National Security Archive kept by the George Washington University. Despite Webb’s accuracy, the campaign to discredit Webb led to his losing his job and an eventual suicide, according to Robert Parry. The following plot summary is here. “Based on the true story of journalist Gary Webb, the film takes place in the mid-1990s. Webb ...

Smoking Marijuana Really Can Ruin Your Life

Hi. I am 26 years old and have been smoking weed for about 10 years now. I took about a year and ½ off, but I basically smoke everyday if I have some. I have been married for almost 5 years and I have 2 children – a 4 month old boy and a 4 year old daughter. I have a very beautiful family and I want to stay with them forever. I have a good entry-level career (Microsoft Marketing) and we have a nice little house and nice cars, and lots of nice stuff. I guess you could say, on the surface, my life is as close to “perfect” as it gets. My wife does not smoke pot (she never has) and she does not want me to smoke either. I smoked when we met, but after I quit (for the time ...

I see and have seen passionate as well as sometimes intelligent discussions about these issues for years, but NEVER see any pros to oppose the cons. So I am going to state some in order to start a discussion where the OTHER side of the arguments is also stated. We all know the anti-eugenics and anti-abortion points, and they ALL seem to be based entirely on emotions and religious beliefs. The Eugenics people base their argument on some pretty solid facts, namely that there is a finite amount of resources available on the planet, and the sick, the lame, the stupid, and the lazy use up more than their fair share and contribute nothing in return in a modern world where grunt labor has very little ...

I have already gone to the League City police with this information and they laughed at me. And I don't know where else to post this so here it is: What I know about October 7, 1983 (the night Hidi Villareal Fye disappeared) First, I would like to correct two incorrect statements in the book I just read about the Calder Road killing field (by Kathryn Casey). First, Hidi’s hair was not blonde (or curley) like the other victims, and the pay phone in front of the Plantation convenience store at Hobbs & 518 was NOT where Hidi disappeared from or made her last phone call from (as was the case with one of the other victims). The story begins six months before that when I got mad ...

While there is no turning back to recreational use of marijuana; there is opportunity to gauge whether this community should allow access to the product that layers risk to our children and youth. THE FACTS Marijuana is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance, and under federal law, this classification has a high potential for abuse. University of Arizona Says They Have No Relationship with Visiting Scholar Who Identifies as a Hippo

A spokesperson for the University of Arizona claimed that they have no ties with a visiting scholar from France who identifies as a hippopotamus. Florentin Félix Morin, who is listed on the University of Arizona’s website as a visiting scholar, argued in the Journal of Theoretical Humanities that his hippo alter-ego has allowed him to navigate the world free from the constraints that “govern human bodies.” This article explores the formation of a tranimal, hippopotamus alter-ego. Confronting transgender with transpecies, the author claims that his hippopotamus “identity” allowed him to (verbally) escape, all at once, several sets of categorization that ...
