Louisiana State University is even growing medical marijuana in a partnership with a private company. Thats all interesting, but no school has offered an entire degree program focused on the marijuana industry. Until now. Northern Michigan University, located in the state's remote Upper Peninsula, has launched a four-year program that allows students to graduate with a degree in Medical Plant Chemistry. The focus is not only on learning the biology and chemistry of marijuana, but also on ...

A scientific study on the legitimacy of a training drill called the 21-Foot-Rule has revealed that a practice police department across the country have used for decades is responsible for thousands of unnecessary deaths. The investigation conducted by NBC Bay Area looked into how many deaths have resulted from the current policies regulating how officers are taught to deal with citizens who appear to be wielding knives. The 21-Foot-Rule was created in the 1980s and based on the belief that an individual holding a knife, or another sharp object, could cover 21 feet of ground in the same time it takes a police ...

As Trump returned from the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., Sunday, Oct. 29, a woman later self-identified as Julie Briskman, made the rude gesture to the presidents motorcade twice as she was cycling on the same road. According to the pool reporter on duty that day, POTUSs motorcade departed the Trump National Golf Club at 3.12pm, passing two pedestrians, one of whom gave a thumbs-down sign. Then it overtook a female cyclist, wearing a white top and cycling helmet, who responded by ...

Marijuana use may lead to 26% increase in the risk of stroke and a 10% increase in the risk of developing heart failure, an Indian-origin researcher has found. Like all other drugs, whether theyre prescribed or not prescribed, we want to know the effects and side effects of this drug, said the studys lead author Aditi Kalla from Einstein Medical Centre in Philadelphia, US. Its important for physicians to know these effects so we can better educate patients, such as those who are inquiring about the safety of cannabis or even asking for a prescription for cannabis, Kalla said. High-potency pot is causing psychiatric issues, including addiction and memory problems. New strains of the recreational drug have higher levels of the active chemical and not enough of another compound that keeps the drug safe. And as a new study this week documents, the riskiest pot is coming from the black market which could be an argument for expanding legalization. The new report, published this week by Manchester Metropolitan University in the U.K., tested 50 samples of cannabis in the city of Manchester. The study was conducted by Volteface, a London-based policy think tank seeking reform for marijuana laws to improve safety of the drug by making it legal, and thus limiting ...

Marijuana devastated Colorado, don’t legalize it nationally Post Date: 2017-11-06 14:47:07 by Gatlin

Last week, Senator Cory Booker introduced the Marijuana Justice Act in an effort to legalize marijuana across the nation and penalize local communities that want nothing to do with this dangerous drug. This is the furthest reaching marijuana legalization effort to date and marks another sad moment in our nations embrace of a drug that will have generational consequences. Our country is facing a drug epidemic. Legalizing recreational marijuana will do nothing that Senator Booker expects. We heard many of these same promises in 2012 when Colorado legalized recreational marijuana. In the years since, Colorado has seen an increase in marijuana related traffic deaths, poison control ...

"Shout 'Allahu Akbar,' because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers." Who knew hijacker Mohammed Atta's parting words, discovered in his journal after the 9/11 attacks, would become a national punchline? The louder and more frequently jihadists around the globe shriek their signature battle cry, the more fervently multicultural apologists deny its meaning. They've transformed the Islamic supremacists' obvious and explicit call for violence into a bland utterance of peace as indiscernible and nonsensical as "Aloha Snackbar." With blood still fresh on the pavement in Manhattan after Tuesday's outbreak of Allahu Akbar-itis that took ...
