Five Years of Chain Migration Adds More People to U.S. than One Year of American Births

Five Years of Chain Migration Adds More People to U.S. than One Year of American Births Foreigners brought more children to America from 2005 to 2015 than American parents delivered in any two years of the decade. Extended-family immigration, known as “chain migration,” allows newly naturalized foreign-born citizens the right to send or bring foreign relatives to the U.S., including grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, adult siblings, and their children. In general, each new immigrant brings in three additional chain-migrants. Since 2005, 9.3 million foreign nationals have been able to resettle in the U.S. for no other reason than they had extended family members already ...

The Decline and Fall of American Nationhood

The Decline and Fall of American Nationhood It’s a sad fact of man’s nature that we tend to operate based on emotion more than reason. This comes to mind when considering how illegal migration, a.k.a. invasion, has now again surged back to almost Obama-era levels. Some are theorizing why this is so, looking at the micro, but an important factor is minimized: not enough people care. Oh, they care about some things: sports, entertainment, money, sex, bread and circuses. But the familial passion that should characterize a nation is largely absent. Passion is the actuator. You don’t become a concert pianist because of a cold intellectual calculation that you may have some ...

Damn, Now Even Trees Are Racist! When Will It Stop? December 19, 2017| by Brian Anderson Racism is so insidious that it literally invades every aspect of life. This scourge has found it’s way into nature and now even trees are racist. You are probably thinking this has something to do with lynching because, in the democratic South, black people were sometimes hung to death from trees in extrajudicial killings, but that’s not even close. Apparently it’s just he trees being trees that makes them racist. Yup, those damn trees are haters and bigots. Here’s a very real story from The Atlanta Journal Constitution about a row of trees that separate a public golf course from ...

No jail time for cop who took pills from drug take-backs

FLINT, MI -- Former Burton police Detective Shawn Duncanson will have charges dropped and avoid jail if he follows the conditions of probation after pleading guilty to taking pills from prescription drug take-back boxes at local departments.  Genesee District Judge Mark W. Latchana sentenced Duncanson Tuesday, Dec. 19, to one year of non-reporting probation, which requires Duncanson to abstain from alcohol or drug use, attend weekly support group meetings, individual counseling, random drug tests and review hearings with the court. "The court is familiar with Detective Duncanson and his work at the police department, as well as his personal situation," said Latchana. ...

84-Year-Old Doctor Says She's Losing License for Not Using Computer

84-Year-Old Doctor Says She's Losing License for Not Using Computer A New Hampshire doctor in practice for 55 years says she has had her medical license suspended because she does not use a computer. Dr. Anna Konopka runs a small doctor's office in New London, where she not only sees patients, but also takes her own phone calls and does her own paperwork. She says she's had a spotless record for five and a half decades, but last year, when a patient logged a complaint with the New Hampshire Board of Medicine, she says it sparked a full-on investigation, resulting in her medical license being pulled. The board told Konopka if she didn't sign a voluntary surrender of her ...

Consciousness and Intelligence
Post Date: 2017-12-21 04:13:50 by A Pole

Because of our experience we tend to associate consciousness with intelligence, and sometimes confuse the two. However the concepts are not necessarily one and the same. Consider for example that intelligence seems to come in a spectrum, with humans ranking as the most intelligent (so far) and the other animals falling somewhere lower on the scale. Consciousness however seems to be very much a “you have it or you don’t” kind of thing. Unlike intelligence it doesn’t make any sense to talk about someone being “less conscious”. Perhaps you might argue that you are “less conscious” when you have just woken up, but this is to confuse awareness, and clear ...

Germans Fear Tax Cut Will Spur US Investment and Growth

The Democrats in Congress and the press have frantically tried to convince the American people that cutting businesses taxes won’t do any good. This view is delusional, but we hear it so often it almost begins to sound plausible. Here is a contrary view from a different source, German industry: “Germans fear huge loss of jobs from US tax reform.” German investment in the US is expected to rise by €39 billion because of lower US corporate taxes. While Americans are anxiously awaiting full details of the tax bill now being finalized in Congress, German economists are warning that the changes sought by President Donald Trump mean that significant amounts of new investment ...

The good sort of Trumpian: people don't like being played for chumps, and Trump gives voice to that. "They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us. Well, we're watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We'll save a lot. We don't care," Trump told reporters at the White House. The US already vetoed this attempt in the Security Council, but now they're having a meaningless vote on it in the General Assembly: The 193-member U.N. General Assembly will hold a rare emergency special session on Thursday -- at the request of Arab and Muslim countries -- to vote on a draft resolution, which was vetoed by ...

FILE PHOTO: Rancher Cliven Bundy looks out over his 160 acre ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada May 3, 2014. REUTERS/Mike Blake/File Photo A federal judge declared a mistrial in the case against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy after prosecutors willfully withheld evidence showing that government agents behaved illegally during a 2014 standoff. Judge Gloria Navarro dismissed jurors Wednesday nearly one month after a trial began against Bundy and his sons, Ammon and Ryan Bundy, both of whom were accused three years ago of leading an armed standoff with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Navarro showed evidence suggesting prosecutors refused to produce records showing agents conducting surveillance ...

Former Assistant FBI Director: Insiders in the FBI Set to Expose Comey and Mueller by Terresa Monroe-Hamilton | December 20, 2017 1:41 pm Former FBI Assistant Director James Kallstrom got very candid with Stuart Varney on Fox Business about what is going on with the Deep State and the FBI. He says that patriots within the FBI are about to go public with huge new revelations that could blow up the “Russian collusion” investigation. He refers to the “5th Estate” and says it has been working to sabotage President Trump. Kallstrom says it is led by “a bunch of sycophants in the FBI” who are guilty of “obstruction of justice.” Wow and this is a guy who ...

President Barack Obama torpedoed a DEA-led effort to stop Hezbollah from smuggling cocaine into the country. POLITICO broke the bombshell news Sunday night. The reason for allowing the Iran-backed terror group’s criminal enterprise to continue? Obama’s desperate desire for better relations and a nuclear deal with Iran. The DEA teamed with dozens of agencies here and abroad in 2008 after discovering Hezbollah had grown beyond Middle East politics and thuggery into international crime. The special task force was called Project Cassandra. For eight years Project Cassandra worked to unravel Hezbollah’s drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and other criminal ...

UFOs Are Real, Retired Navy Commander Suggests Of Weird Aircraft

Retired Naval Commander David Fravor was conducting a training mission off the coast of California in 2004 when he saw it — an oblong craft flying erratically through his airspace at incredible speed, maneuvering in a way that defies accepted principles of aerodynamics. Fravor didn't know what to make of it, but said it was not like anything he had ever seen in nearly 20 years of flying. The wingless object was about 40 feet long and shaped like a Tic Tac, Fravor said. He described it is other-worldly. His dramatic retelling of the encounter comes as the Pentagon has acknowledged a secret program to investigate UFO sightings. The project was defunded in 2012 because of other budget ...

Innocent Elderly Man’s Cat Gets Out, So Cops Attack & Arrest Him

Aurora, CO — The ACLU of Colorado has recently filed a lawsuit against two Aurora police officers after they assaulted and kidnapped an innocent man. The federal lawsuit follows the release of the body camera footage which prompted the legal action. Dwight Crews is an innocent 60-year-old man who never had so much as a speeding ticket before police came to his door that night. Ironically, it was an act of heroism that prompted the police response that night. Instead of praising the 60-year-old, however, police proceeded to violate his rights. Earlier in the night, Crews stepped in as his daughter’s husband attempted to physically abuse her in front of him. The husband, who happens ...

Just as Oumuamua, the first detected alien visitor from another star system zips through our solar system, the New York Times reveals the existence of the Pentagon's secretive Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program that has been investigating reports of unidentified flying objects since 2007. Oumuamua, a reddish cigar-shaped body 1,300 feet in length, was detected on October 19 by astronomers associated with the University of Hawaii who are part of the worldwide Near-Earth Object discovery effort. According to the Washington Post, its unusual shape prompted Andrew Siemion, director of the Berkeley Search for ...

Trump and the NFL Agree: Taxpayers Should Keep Subsidizing Stadiums

Tom Donoghue/Polaris/NewscomAfter feuding with the National Football League for months, over everything from how players act during the national anthem to whether the games are violent enough, President Donald Trump appears to agree with the league about at least one thing: Taxpayers should subsidize stadiums. The Republican-crafted tax reform bill, which is expected to pass both chambers of Congress today, maintains the current federal tax exemption for bonds issued to pay for the construction of stadiums. An earlier version of the bill, which cleared the House in November, would have done away with that exemption (though public projects such as infrastructure could have been funded with ...

Italian police violently clashed with “anti-fascist protesters” in the Italian town of Modena Friday. According to RT, the anti-fascists were preparing to “disrupt” a rally organized by a far-right group called “Defend Modena.” The right-wing group was protesting against Jus soli, a legal principle that allows those born in a country to obtain citizenship to that country. Video footage from Ruptly captured the moment police and “anti-fascists” start to brawl. WATCH: RT reports that up to 300 “anti-fascists and anarchists” attempted to march into the area where the “Defend Modena” was demonstrating, but police blocked their ...

The FCC disproved its own claim that net neutrality was an Obama plot

Among the many incorrect claims made by the FCC in promotion of its order eliminating 2015’s net neutrality rule was the idea that the Obama administration had exerted major influence to make that rule happen. While it’s true that President Obama publicly stated his support for the idea, the FCC’s own internal investigation found no evidence that he had done anything but that. The investigation, summarized in a document obtained by Motherboard via FOIA request, was conducted by the FCC’s Office of Inspector General at the request of some Members of Congress. The investigators looked at some 600,000 emails from all five commissioners, dating from the period of the 2015 ...

from the fake-news dept The fact that the FCC comments for Ajit Pai's net neutrality repeal were stuffed with fake comments is nothing new at all. We first reported on it back in May, and reports of comments from totally fake people or long dead people continue to pop up. Even worse are multiple stories of people having their own identities used to file comments, often opposed to their own views. The FCC has consistently responded that it doesn't care. New York's Attorney General has been investigating this as fraud, and asked the FCC to delay its net neutrality repeal until after the investigation was complete -- a request the FCC completely ignored. And, as we just noted a ...
