A Staten Island woman who told authorities a "jilted panhandler" attacked her with acid, leaving her with terrible burns on her face, actually inflicted her own wounds, according to the New York Police Department. The shocking incident airwaves in New York on Monday, after the 52-year-old woman stumbled into a local convenience store with what appeared to be severe acid burns covering her face and neck. The woman told police that a man begging for change on the side of Woodrow Road had sprayed her with an "unknown liquid" after she refused to give him a cigarette. "We thought it was a prank at first," a witness told local news. "She came in here, she was ...

James Damore, a former Google engineer who was fired in August after posting a memo to an internal Google message board arguing that women may not be equally represented in tech because they are biologically less capable of engineering, has filed a class action lawsuit against the company in Santa Clara Superior Court in Northern California. His claims: that Google unfairly discriminates against white men whose political views are unpopular with its executives. Damore is joined in the 161-page suit by another former Google engineer named David Gudeman, who spent three years with Google working on a query engine. According to Gudemans LinkedIn profile, he left the company in ...

Jeff Sessions: Reflecting Administration Policies or ‘Reforming’ Them? Post Date: 2018-01-10 06:35:55 by Deckard

We should hope that Jeff Sessions recently-instituted changes are not the result of the administration, and rather that he is the sole architect of those abrupt changes in DOJ policy. On the surface, some of them may seem effective, however, Sessions credibility has been under scrutiny recently for his meetings with the Russian ambassador prior to the Presidents election, along with his reluctance to investigate Comey, Mueller, or Hillary Clinton. The first item was supposedly to meet with the Russian ambassador to discuss Ukraine and the separatist conflict in the Donbass. The remainder? The Russian Uranium deal was made by Bill Clinton in 2005, finalized two ...

In the wake of violent clashes between protesters last August in Charlottesville, many people demanded a federal crackdown on suspected dangerous extremists. The federal government has previously carried out similar heavy-handed suppression efforts with disastrous results. Rather than intellectually purifying the nation, such efforts are far more likely to turn nitwits into martyrs. During the 1960s and early 1970s, Washingtons efforts to stomp out bad ideas spawned federal crime waves. The FBIs COINTELPRO program utterly exempted itself from the Constitution and federal, state, and local laws. The FBI set up its own 250-member Klan organization to attract membership away ...

State Rep Says Weed Should Be Illegal Because It Makes Black People Crazy Post Date: 2018-01-10 06:00:41 by Deckard

Proving that ignorance and close-mindedness still reign in politics, during a Saturday Legislative session debating whether or not marijuana should be legalized in Kansas, a state representative made the most asinine, unfounded, and outright racist comment about marijuana to be uttered from a politicians mouth in over a half-century. As State Rep. Steve Alford, R-Ulysses, was failing miserably attempting to make his point on why marijuana should remain illegal in the state of Kansas, he began with unfounded and debunked myths before jumping off the racist deep end. Remaining entirely ignorant to the massive amount of evidence to the contrary, Alford attempted to paint marijuana ...
Gov’t Forcing Couple to Tear Down Amazing Treehouse On Their Property—Or Else Post Date: 2018-01-10 05:51:53 by Deckard

By Jack Burns Holmes Beach, FL Lynn Tran and Richard Hazen have spent over $150,000 building a beachfront treehouse on Anna Maria Island on Floridas west coastin their own backyard. But it wasnt the cost of the treehouse that was so expensive, it was the legal fees they spent trying to keep the city from tearing it down. After years of legal jousting, the couple has appealed their right to keep their treehouse all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). However, on Monday, the state won. SCOTUS claimed a case of the state forcing a property owner to tear down an expensive building on their own property was simply not worth their time. Tran ...
Success: EPA set to reduce staff 50% in Trump's first term Post Date: 2018-01-10 03:05:17 by Tooconservative

The Environmental Protection Agency, seen by President Trump as a bloated bureaucratic whale, is on schedule to fulfill his promise to reduce its staff nearly in half by the end of his first term mostly through retirements, not cuts, according to officials. The EPA Tuesday provided to Secrets its first year staff results which show that the agency is below levels not seen since former President Reagans administration. And if just those slated to retire by early 2021 leave, Administrator Scott Pruitt and his team will have reduced a staff of nearly 15,000, to below 8,000, or a reduction of 47 percent. Were proud to report that were reducing the size of government, ...
Six times the firm behind the infamous dossier contradicted Trump’s claims Post Date: 2018-01-09 19:00:44 by Jameson

It's not made up. It wasn't politically motivated. And it did not set out with the intention to smear President Trump. That's what the co-founder of a research firm, Fusion GPS, told Congress about a dossier his firm produced during the presidential campaign. Glenn Simpson, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee for 10 hours in August about research that was originally started by a conservative news site, and that Hillary Clinton's campaign paid for to continue. Ultimately, the dossier claimed Trump's campaign colluded with Russia, something Trump has vigorously denied but also something neither special counsel Robert S. ...

Trump (right) mocks reporter with disability Serge Kovaleski (left). The Committee to Protect Journalists has named President Donald Trump the winner of the dubious Overall Achievement in Undermining Global Press Freedom award in the inaugural edition of its Global Press Oppressors list. The CPJ decided to name press oppressors following President Trumps announcement last week that he would name media houses and journalists that he considers to be purveyors of fake news. Trump broke the news on Twitter, of course, which has increasingly distinguished itself as his preferred method of communication with the outside world. Following a regular season where most NFL fans decided they had better things to do on Sunday afternoons than watch football; it appears those same fans still have better things to do on Saturdays and Sundays in the postseason. The first round of playoffs suffered double-digit ratings drops, as the NFL begins the most important part of its calendar year, Awful Announcing reported. Saturdays Tennessee Titans-Kansas City Chiefs game didnt deliver for ESPN or ABC, losing two full ratings points over last years game. The game drew a 14.7 overnight rating compared to last years 16.6 for the Houston Texans-L.A. Raiders game. It was the worst rating since 2012, Awful ...
Bakers Sue State Because Selling Cake is Illegal and Will Get You Thrown in Jail—Seriously Post Date: 2018-01-09 10:25:11 by Deckard

By Rachel Blevins Bakers in New Jersey are fed up with the possibility of a $1,000 fine for selling a single cake, and they are coming together to sue the only state that makes it illegal for individuals to sell home-baked goods. Fines, as TFTP has frequently reported are enforced through the threat of police action. If these bakers choose not to pay the finesthey could end up in jailfor baking a cake. The ban on the sale of baked goods that were not made in a commercial kitchen was also present in Wisconsin, where bakers could face up to six months jail for selling a single cookie, up until May 2017 when a state court declared it unconstitutional on the basis ...

A Future No One is Going to Like Ok,first of all,you need to know that *I* do NOT promote or support this future. I am just calling them the way I see them, and hopefully, opening a few eyes so that some people can try to prepare themselves to deal with it. I would LIKE to think I can "shout this warning" and enough people will take notice to alter it sufficiently to make it less brutal, but make no mistake about it,voluntarily or involuntarily, these things WILL be happening. To start off with you need to understand how current and future technical advances will create conditions that make all the conditions exist that will demand the changes. Technology is neither moral or ...

Just as Jeff Sessions rescinded a pro-freedom and pro-states rights policy of allowing individual states to decide the legality of marijuana, FOX News aired a segment with their medical expert informing its viewers on the dangers of marijuana use. The outright propaganda and lies spewed by their so-called expert were hilarious while at the same time incredibly worrisomebecause many people actually believe them. Fox News Medical Expert and A-Team member, Dr. Marc Siegel went on a rant on how regular marijuana use carries significant health risks. Out of the gate, the expert falsely claimed that fatal car accidents ...

The War on Some Drugs Post Date: 2018-01-09 08:50:09 by Deckard

Drugs are a charged subject everywhere. Theyre a hot button topic. Everyone has a strong opinion, often irrational, that seems to come from deep in the most reactive recesses of their collective minds. Longtime readers know that although I personally abstain from drugs and generally eschew the company of abusive users, I think they should be 100% legal. Not just cannabis. All drugs. The most important reason is moral and ethical. Your primary possession is your own body. If you dont own it, and dont have a right to do whatever you want with it, then you in fact have no rights at all. Thats the main reason why the drug war itself is criminal, and morally ...
Just Say No to Jeff Sessions Post Date: 2018-01-09 08:39:20 by Deckard

Attorney General Jeff Sessions kicked off the New Year by reversing the Obama-era guidance for federal prosecutors to limit their enforcement of federal marijuana laws in states that have legalized marijuana for medical or recreational use. In what is almost certainly not a coincidence, Sessions announcement came days after Californias law legalizing recreational marijuana sales went into effect. Sessions action thus runs counter to the wishes of the majority of the people in the most populous US state, as well the people of the 28 other states (and DC) that have legalized some form of marijuana use. Federal laws criminalizing marijuana and other drugs have failed to ...

Instead of going after criminals in the government or making an attempt to thwart corruption, Attorney General Jeff Sessions made his mission clear this weekhe intends to crucify those who dare to ingest a plant that makes them healthier and happier. In a statement released by the justice department on Thursday, Jeff Sessions reversed the policy of allowing states to make their own decisions on legalizing cannabis and vowed to dedicate federal tax dollars and resources to enforcing this tyranny. It is the mission of the Department of Justice to enforce the laws of the United States, and the previous issuance of guidance undermines the rule of law and the ...

Three months ago, before the consequential and historic success of Trumps first year came into vivid focus, Wolffs conspiracy theory might have stuck to the wall. Today, it gives off the unmistakably stale aroma of last seasons fake news. If we are to believe Wolff, the Trump White House is a hive of toxic dysfunction and chaos, primarily ...
