Queens, NY Dramatic surveillance footage caught the moment a Queens man was thrown from his bicycle as an unmarked police cruiser appears to ram or at least make contact with him as they chased him down for no reason. Once the man was thrown from his bicycle, however, thats when things took a turn for the worst. Heins Rodriguez, 26, was minding his own business as he road his bicycle down 43rd Avenue in August of 2015 when an unmarked police cruiser comes out of nowhere causing the him to go flying off of his bike. When the officers got out of the vehicle, instead of making sure this man was okay, they fabricated a story and arrested him. According to police, when the officers ...

Advocates who want California to secede from the rest of the United States were given the green light Monday to begin collecting signatures for their initiative. Californias Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced the ballot proposal had been cleared. The latest measure would ask voters in 2020 to decide whether to open up a secession discussion. If passed, a second election would be held a year later asking voters to affirm the decision and become an independent country. Advocates have until mid-October to gather 365,880 signatures of registered voters to get it on the ballot. Marcus Ruiz Evans and Louis J. Marinelli, co-founders of the group Yes California, said the second ...
Uranus Smells Like Rotten Eggs Post Date: 2018-04-24 11:54:01 by Willie Green

There's a lot of really smelly stuff wafting around Uranus. The clouds in Uranus' upper atmosphere are composed largely of hydrogen sulfide, the molecule that makes rotten eggs so stinky, a new study suggests. "If an unfortunate human were ever to descend through Uranus' clouds, they would be met with very unpleasant and odiferous conditions," study lead author Patrick Irwin, of Oxford University in England, said in a statement. But that wayward pioneer would have bigger problems, he added: "Suffocation and exposure in the negative 200 degrees Celsius [minus 328 degrees Fahrenheit] atmosphere, made of mostly hydrogen, helium, and methane, would take its toll ...

Suicide of the West HOW THE REBIRTH OF TRIBALISM, POPULISM, NATIONALISM, AND IDENTITY POLITICS IS DESTROYING AMERICAN DEMOCRACY By JONAH GOLDBERG Epic and debate-shifting. David Brooks With his trademark blend of political history, social science, economics, and pop culture, two-time NYT bestselling author, syndicated columnist, National Review senior editor, and American Enterprise Institute fellow Jonah Goldberg makes the timely case that America and other democracies are in peril as they lose the will to defend the values and institutions that sustain freedom and prosperity. Instead we are surrendering to populism, nationalism and other forms of tribalism. Only once ...
Total Control: New Measures Toward Global Totalitarianism Post Date: 2018-04-24 09:44:54 by Deckard

For those who have read 1984 by George Orwell, it is almost prophetic in its depth and accuracy. The reason that the warning has not been heeded is that change takes place with glacial slowness. Sometimes the changes take so long they dull the senses and we become inured to more bad news, or we just discount it continually. No matter what our reaction, the march toward global totalitarianism proceeds, with or without our consent or even our attention. The slow march is deliberate. The reason for this is simple. The generation/group of people between the ages of approximately 40 to 60 are of an age who still have a sense of nationalism and grew up/experienced their ...
Civic Anarchism and Statism: I Believe in the State Post Date: 2018-04-24 08:47:30 by Deckard

The devotion with which statists implore their only saving state is often reminiscent of religious rituals of faith. When people keep saying that a world without a state is simply not possible, it almost sounds like the Catholic creed, albeit in small nuances: I believe in the State, the holder of the monopoly on the use of force, the creator of the laws over us all, and in its government here below, its only legitimate representative, our master
The strategy is obvious. The peoples age-old need for integration into a comprehensive affiliation is being addressed. This is the essence of religion (religio means incorporation), which nobody can object to. ...
'A Man Without Courage': Dershowitz Slams Comey for Leaking Trump Memos Post Date: 2018-04-23 19:10:54 by Justified

Alan Dershowitz on Monday slammed James Comey for leaking memos of his private discussions with President Trump. Dershowitz, a Harvard Law professor emeritus, said the former FBI director "demeaned" the bureau by giving the memos to a law professor who then leaked the content of the memos to the New York Times. "This is a man without courage," Dershowitz stated on "Fox & Friends." He argued that Comey should have spoken up when Trump allegedly pressured him to end the FBIs investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and also when the president allegedly demanded Comey's loyalty. "Instead, he leaked it," ...
Comey, the memos and the question of what’s classified Post Date: 2018-04-23 18:03:28 by Jameson

The first clue that the question of classification is complicated regarding memos written by then-FBI Director James B. Comey comes in the first paragraph of the first document. Comey wrote the memos to memorialize his conversations with president-elect and then President Trump, beginning with a meeting at Trump Tower on Jan. 6, 2017, and continuing to April 11 less than a month before Trump fired Comey. The release of the memos also reignited a question that has floated around since their existence was revealed in June: Do they contain classified material, and is classified material in the memo or memos Comey leaked to Richman? That is why that first paragraph in the first Jan. 7 ...

Under attack, the FBI becomes a partisan battleground Post Date: 2018-04-23 10:37:53 by IbJensen

In its 110 years, the FBI has weathered storm and scandal. It has had moments that make Americans proud of its crime-fighting and anti-terrorist activities. Yet its most celebrated and longest-serving leader, J. Edgar Hoover, for whom the imposing headquarters building on Pennsylvania Avenue is named, is remembered in large part for the many abuses of power that took place during his long reign. What is occurring today is different. It is more like the crumbling of the foundations of an agency that in its best days personifies the finest in government service and law enforcement. Like much about todays political environment, the problems began before President Donald Trump was ...

Democrats are getting desperate as Mueller stalls Post Date: 2018-04-23 07:41:19 by IbJensen

(DNC Chairman Tom Perez) Its not just Hillary Clinton who cant quit Russia. The whole Democratic Party keeps going back to 2016. In a move that reeks of desperation, the DNC filed a civil suit Friday against President Trumps campaign, Russia and WikiLeaks, alleging a vast (right wing!) conspiracy to tip the election to Trump. The suits flamboyant charges made headlines, but that only served to obscure the real meaning. Namely, that top Dems are giving up their fantasies that special counsel Robert Mueller will deliver them from political purgatory by getting the goods on Trump. The trashy suit is their way of trying to keep impeachment and Russia, Russia, ...
Entire County Refuses to Obey New Gun Control Law, Declares Itself Gun Owner Sanctuary Post Date: 2018-04-23 05:25:07 by Deckard

Amid political buzzwords of sanctuary cities and gun bans, one Illinois county decided to wade into the fray by declaring itself a sanctuary for gun owners. The Effingham County board voted this past week, 8-1, to order its employees not to enforce any laws that would unconstitutionally restrict the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Effingham County States Attorney Bryan Kibler said the measure is meant to act as a warning shot to tell the state legislature that the county does not want unnecessary gun control measures, or for the sale of firearms to be jeopardized. The resolution states:The Right of the People to Keep and ...

"Student safety in any activity is our primary focus."What's more dangerous: rugby, or a walk in the woods? At Pennsylvania State University, the administrators apparently think it's the latter. The student "Outing Club," which has gone backpacking, kayaking, and hiking in state parks over the course of its 98-year-existence, will no longer be allowed to host outdoor events after administrators conducted a risk assessment, according to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "The types of activities in which [Penn State Outing Club] engages are above the university's threshold of acceptable risk for recognized student organizations," according to an official ...
14 Years Ago, Pat Tillman Was Killed and Gov’t Covered Up the Truth to His Death to Sell War Post Date: 2018-04-23 05:03:26 by Deckard

Free Thought Project by Jack Burns Seventh-round NFL draft pick Pat Tillman wasted no time in setting records for tackles on the football field for the Arizona Cardinals. But in the Spring of 2002, after marrying his childhood sweetheart, Tillman walked away from his multi-million-dollar NFL salary and joined the Army with his brother. Tillmans departure from the NFL was widely publicized, as was his death on the battlefield of Afghanistan in 2004. The Pentagon, President George W. Bush, and what seemed like all of America, celebrated Tillmans heroic death. However, Tillmans death was not heroic by any means. He was shot and killed by his fellow U.S. soldiers. ...

Why I Won't Read James Comey's Book Post Date: 2018-04-22 20:11:38 by tpaine

Why I Won't Read James Comey's Book BY ROGER L SIMON APRIL 12, 2018 (AP Photo/Susan Walsh) It's not just because I have yet to read Dostoevsky's The Possessed or George Eliot's Middlemarch or an embarrassing amount of Faulkner that I will not pony up $17.95 for a hard copy or even $14.95 for the Kindle version of James Comey's new book A Higher Loyalty, subtitled, in case you miss his drift, Truth, Lies and Leadership. It's also not just because I find him one of the more pompous individuals, real or imagined, this side of an Oscar Wilde play. And it's further not just because from the few excerpts I've seen the writing seems predictably puerile. (In ...

Heck, Obama hated America so much that one of his first presidential actions was his infamous "Apology ...

Longtime Geller Report readers know that Bangladesh has become a hotbed of jihad activity, with Muslims targeting atheist bloggers and others whom they consider to be infidels for assassination. Now we learn that hundreds of Bangladeshi Muslims have crossed the border illegally at Laredo, Texas since the beginning of 2017. This report says: In a KGNS news special report, our Noraida Negron rides along with Border Patrol to find out why these cases are on the rise. Is jihad being considered as a possibility? Might at least some of these Muslims who are streaming across the border at Laredo be coming to commit murder and mayhem inside the United States? Judging from what is ...

Journalist Mike Allen of Axios recently said that one word described Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and that word was unafraid. The context for his remarks on Fox News Special Report was that Mueller had just spun off to the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Southern District of New York a bit of his limitless investigation into President Donald J. Trump. Allens comment was like so many others from media and pundit types since the special counsel was launched. If theres one word to describe the medias relationship to Mueller, its unquestioning. Pundits and politicians have said, repeatedly, that he is somebody we ...

Last Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C. an aide to Nancy Pelosi visited the Bishop of the Catholic Cathedral in D.C. He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's Mass, and asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint. The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over some of Pelosi's views." Pelosi's aide then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to you if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint." The ...
