Target said its quarterly sales sank and it has been forced to lower expectations for the year after a “negative reaction” to the retail giant’s Pride Month collection. The Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday that its forces destroyed a US- made military boat carrying a Ukrainian assault team near Snake Island in the northern Black Sea. The ministry identified the boat as a Sea Force, a patrol boat made by Willard Marine, an American company based in California. The Salvation Army lost its Lahaina Lighthouse Corps complex to the fires on the Hawaiian island of Maui, including the administrative building, church, thrift store, and residential quarters for its staff. Airports in Moscow temporarily halted service for the second day in a row on Tuesday as Ukrainian drones again targeted the region, part of Kyiv’s strategy to bring the war to Russian civilians. Andrey Vorobyev, governor of the Moscow Oblast, said two drones were intercepted in the region and fell outside of the capital city of Moscow. S&P Global downgraded Associated Banc-Corp., Comerica Inc., KeyCorp, UMB Financial Corp. and Valley National Bancorp Wednesday, while also giving two other banks a negative rating as interest rates for loans increased due to the Federal Reserve hiking interest rates to combat inflation. Indiana’s new abortion law, which critics claim is “a near-total abortion ban,” is now settled law in the Hoosier State. On Monday, the Indiana Supreme Court voted 4-1 to affirm its previous ruling that the law did not violate the state’s constitution. The law was originally passed by the Legislature and signed by Governor Eric Holcomb in August of 2022.
