A creepy footnote to the shooting in Maryland yesterday. Apparently, the identity of the shooter who had no ID on him, refused to give his name and had obscured his fingerprints was determined via the use of facial recognition software. An NBC news story about the incident mentions this fairly casually and without comment: Senior law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation told NBC News that Ramos had been identified through the use of facial recognition software. The sources said earlier that he had somehow obscured his fingerprints, making identification difficult. (Anne Arundel County Deputy Police Chief Bill) Krampf would not confirm those ...
It Is Imperative That The Next Supreme Court Nominee Is Questioned On Vital National Security Matters Post Date: 2018-06-30 18:12:21 by Deckard

Michael J. Glennons book on the dual nature of the American government, National Security and Double Government, is one of the most disturbing and disconcerting I have ever read. He posits that there is the Madisonian public government of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches found outlined in the Constitution, operating under the rule of law, with separation of powers, checks and balances, and openness and transparency. This is contrasted with the Trumanite clandestine deep state, established by the National Security Act of 1947 during the Truman regime. On every page he uncovers virtually unknown material in intricate detail ...

Arthur Jones, a Holocaust denier who will appear on the November ballot as the GOP candidate against Democratic Rep. And some Republicans even fear the taint from Jones extremist views poses a threat to the party up and down the ticket. First, its morally wrong and I think its really harmful to the party. The Windows 10 April 2018 Update continued its meteoric rise in June.According to the AdDuplex's latest monthly report, the Windows 10 April 2018 Update has reached 78.1 percent coverage of all Windows 10 PCs the firm has sampled. The surge continues a pattern that Microsoft has been on for a while, resulting in the April 2018 Update becoming the fastest feature update to roll out thus far. For comparison, the April 2018 Update was at 50 percent coverage in AdDuplex's May report. The Fall Creators Update took twice as long to hit that mark after its release. As for other feature updates, the Fall Creators Update now stands at 15.7 percent coverage, while the Creators Update is at ...
McConnell Trolls Obama [with tan suit] After Kennedy Announcement Post Date: 2018-06-30 12:38:50 by Tooconservative

On Thursday, the day after Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his impending retirement, paving the way for another genuine conservative to join the Court, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who made sure the late Justice Antonin Scalias seat got filled by a conservative, seemingly had a little fun of his own, trolling former President Obama by wearing a suit exactly like his. Obama had caused mild controversy when he appeared in the briefing room in 2014 wearing a tan suit. McConnell had famously warned then-Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid back in 2013 not to destroy the filibuster and make a simple majority in the Senate enough to confirm a judicial nominee: ...
John McCain’s Staff Director Urged Lois Lerner to Use the IRS to Punish Tea Party Groups and Where Is He Now? Post Date: 2018-06-30 12:04:29 by Justified

After the Democrats got their clock cleaned in 2010, they and their progressive allies turned to the tried and true Obama era method of using law enforcement authority to pursue political goals. Eventually, the IRS admitted it had targeted conservative groups improperly and this resulted in the resignation and contempt of Congress citation for Lois Lerner, and earlier this year, a multi-million dollar settlement to the targeted groups. Now, thanks to the indefatigable Judicial Watch, we know there was another player involved: the sainted John McCain. On April 30, 2013, John McCains staff director and counsel, Henry Kerner, was at a meeting with Lois Lerner where the subject was how to ...
Survey Finds Among White Millenial Men, 23% Move From Dems To GOP In Last Two Years Post Date: 2018-06-30 11:44:59 by Tooconservative

The Democrats have been relishing their popularity with millenials for a variety of reasons: 55% of millennials voted for Hillary Clinton, while roughly 33% voted for Donald Trump; an AP-Norc/MTV Youth Political Pulse poll found only 33% of young Americans approve of President Trumps actions in handling his job as president, while the majority believe he is mentally unfit (60%), generally dishonest (62%) or a racist (63%); and a Pew Research Center study found millennials gave a 64% job approval rating to President Obama in 2009-2010 but only 27% approval of Trump in 2017-2018. So why should Democrats worry? Here's why. The Guardian reports ...
How Donald Trump Organized the Secret Campaign That Convinced Anthony Kennedy To Retire Post Date: 2018-06-30 11:16:43 by Tooconservative

In the wake of Anthony Kennedys decision to retire from the US Supreme Court, the left is doing a frantic post-mortem on how they could possibly have overlooked the notion that an 81-year-old man might want to retire. The real subject deserving of a post-mortem is why they thought they could rule indefinitely through an increasingly SJW-oriented Supreme Court instead of by winning elections, but that isnt happening and it isnt going to. But, given the lefts penchant for promoting conspiracy theories (see the Mueller investigation, for instance), the working hypothesis now is that Trump flattered Kennedy into retirement. The Patient Zero in this is a New York Times ...
U.S. assessing cost of keeping troops in Germany as Trump battles with Europe Post Date: 2018-06-30 10:55:59 by Tooconservative

The Pentagon is analyzing the cost and impact of a large-scale withdrawal or transfer of American troops stationed in Germany, amid growing tensions between President Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to people familiar with the work. The effort follows Trumps expression of interest in removing the troops, made during a meeting earlier this year with White House and military aides, U.S. officials said. Trump was said to have been taken aback by the size of the U.S. presence, which includes about 35,000 active-duty troops, and complained that other countries were not contributing fairly to joint security or paying enough to NATO. Word of the assessment has alarmed ...
DNC CHAIR: OBAMA IS AMERICA’S ‘REAL PRESIDENT’ — NOT TRUMP Post Date: 2018-06-30 10:34:30 by IbJensen

Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Tom Perez introduced former President Barack Obama as Americas real president at a DNC fundraiser Thursday night. Lets give it up for the real president of the United States, Perez said at Thursdays fundraiser, Politico reported. Obama reportedly then told the crowd of Democratic donors that they are right to be concerned about Trumps presidency. Perezs false descriptor for Obama is just the latest instance of prominent Democrats abandoning political norms in order to undermine President Trump. The Collapse of the Never-Trump Conservatives Post Date: 2018-06-30 09:03:46 by Tooconservative

With the installation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, and a yet-to-be-named reliable replacement for the unreliable Anthony Kennedy, Donald Trump will have confirmed himself as the most consequential conservative president of the modern era (or a close second to Reagan if youre nostalgic). This will be complete vindication for Trump supporters, which means its really the end for the so-called Never Trump conservatives. Of course, there have been so many humiliating defeats for that crowd that we are spoiled for choice. What was your favorite blunder, or blown prediction, which marked their ignominious end? For some, it must have been in March when Bill Kristol, longtime ...
A Strange Evolution: When Fundagelicals Loved the ACLU Post Date: 2018-06-30 09:00:42 by Gatlin

Long, long ago, when I was a wee bright-eyed Pentecostal lass, I had a run-in with an anti-theist college professor. I wrote about it a few years ago, but I always intended to come back to that story because there was a part I hadnt mentioned at the time. You see, my evangelical peers had an instantand unanimousresponse to the situation when I told them about it. They wanted me to go talk to the ACLU. Does that shock you? Surprise you? It should. Ill tell you about it today. Today, Lord Snow Presides over another strange evolution in fundagelicalism.(Scott Granneman, CC-SA.) Set The Wayback Machine. Megan OGrady cant recall how she came up with the idea. She had never sewn anything in her life and her family didnt own a sewing machine. She just knew she had to give families something to hold on to a piece of what theyd lost. She learned every step from her grandmother how to stuff, sew and embroider. Constructing each bear was a lengthy process. She had to cut the uniform, stuff the head, body and limbs, and stitch the pieces together. Then add the eyes and nose, and embroider a shield on the chest, personalized to include the officers last name and badge number. She placed stripes on the shoulder for rank or service, and a blue ribbon ...
The ACLU’s Longstanding Commitment to Defending Speech We Hate Post Date: 2018-06-29 23:10:27 by Gatlin

The ACLU, the nations oldest and largest civil liberties organization, has always had its share of critics. Many condemned us for defending Nazis right to march in Skokie in the 1970s. Some, like former Attorney General Ed Meese, labeled us the criminals lobby for advocating for constitutional rights for those accused of crime. We earned few friends when we represented Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen suspected of terrorist ties and killed in a drone strike by the Obama administration. After we represented a white supremacist denied a permit by the city of Charlottesville, we were criticized for defending white supremacists. Such criticism comes with the ...

CNN Blames Trump For Newspaper Shooting That Had Nothing to Do With Him Post Date: 2018-06-29 19:52:23 by Deckard

This report was originally published by Paul Joseph Watson at Infowars.com CNNs Asha Rangappa blamed Donald Trumps rhetoric for the shooting of journalists at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis yesterday despite the fact that the gunmans vendetta against the newspaper stretched back seven years and had nothing to do with Trump. Armed with smoke grenades and a shotgun, Jarrod W. Ramos opened fire on journalists working at the newspaper yesterday afternoon, killing five. Almost as soon as the shooting was reported, and with zero knowledge of the gunmans motive, mainstream press talking heads began blaming Trumps anti-media rhetoric. Prime amongst them was CNN legal ...
The ACLU's Biggest Roadblock to Fighting Mass Surveillance Post Date: 2018-06-29 15:14:15 by Gatlin

IN MARCH 2015, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a type of National Security Agency bulk monitoring known as "upstream" surveillance. More than three years after the ACLU originally filed the suit, the case is still mired in procedural and bureaucratic limbo. But on Friday, a hearing over one such roadblock in Maryland district court could bring long-awaited progress. The Wikimedia Foundation, which the ACLU is representing along with cocounsel from the Knight First Amendment Institute and Cooley LLP, engages in more than a trillion communications per year with people around the world, and has hundreds of millions of visitors ...

When Privacy Prevails: ACLU Lawyer Dishes on SCOTUS' Carpenter Decision Post Date: 2018-06-29 14:45:54 by Gatlin

Nathan Wessler, who argued 'Carpenter' before the SCOTUS, said the decision made way for courts to address protections for "highly sensitive" data held by third-party companies. The Supreme Courts 5-4 decision in Carpenter v. United States marks a significant gain for privacy advocates as well as a monumental shift in how both the Fourth Amendment and the third-party doctrine are interpreted. Among those who made the decision possible is Nathan Wessler, the American Civil Liberties Union attorney who argued on behalf of Timothy Carpenter before the court. Texas Man Evicted For Not Paying Government Mandated ‘Rent’ On His Own Property Post Date: 2018-06-29 14:42:28 by Deckard

A 79-year-old man in Texas was forcibly evicted from a home hes owned and lived in for decades. He was thrown out for not paying to rent his own property from the government. Property taxes are nothing more than rent demanded by the king for the privilege of allowing you to continue to live on land and in a house you already own. But instead of fighting this horrific display of slavery, people actually followed their masters orders and evicted an elderly man from his property for not paying his rent. Billie McGruder will be 80-years-old next month. He has lived in the house his parents bought in the 1930s for decades, but he was evicted Friday, reported My Palm Beach ...

Going far beyond simply cheating on their time cards, three Massachusetts State Troopers have been arrested and charged with embezzlement. According to the allegations brought against the troopers, they stole tens of thousands of dollars when they billed the state for overtime they either did not work or time they stole when they clocked out early. The officers are Paul Cesan, Gary Herman, and David Wilson. In 2016, Cesan is believed to have embezzled $29,000, Herman $12,468, and Wilson $12,450, which amounts to a years salary for some hourly workers. Following the discovery, Cesan and Wilson resigned, and Herman was suspended. NBC 10 in Boston reported: They altered citations ...
Monty Python in the Politically Correct Crosshairs Post Date: 2018-06-29 14:25:19 by Deckard

Across the realm of popular culture, humor is being stripped of its, well, humor. Then the PC police came for Monty Python, the famed British comedy troupe. On June 19, the Daily Mail headlined a story: No Joke: Head of BBC comedy says Oxbridge white blokes of Python wouldnt get on TV now. The article detailed the politically correct comments of Shane Allen, the BBCs Controller of Comedy Commissioning (that title seems like a funny gag in itself), who declared that the comedic needs of today require a diverse range of people who reflect the modern world. One of the old Pythoners, John Cleese, was quick to rise in defense of his mates on Twitter: ...
