We start by identifying that the English term "classical" finds its etymological roots in the Latin adjective classicus which referred to the highest class of Ancient Roman citizens. “Classic” also denoted the Romans’ adoration of all things considered timeless by the Greeks like philosophy, architecture, drama, mythology, and the visual arts. It should come as no surprise that an enterprising San Franciscan came up with the idea to host a "doom loop" tour of the moldering city on a hill. The plot twist is that Alex Ludlum, who put together the tour, canceled and refunded tickets for his "Downtown Doom Loop Walking Tour" before its intended Aug. 26 debut. Massachusetts Democrat Gov. Maura Healey has activated the National Guard to help provide food, transport, and other care for migrant families living in emergency shelters. Healey announced in a statement over the weekend that up to 250 National Guard members will be called on to assist with providing medical care, food, and transportation, as well as helping children enroll in local schools. An Alexandria Police Department officer is being accused of lying about the value of stolen goods to charge a person with a felony, instead of a misdemeanor, according to Louisiana State Police.
