A new survey by research firm Kekst CNC has found that on average, people in the U.S. think 9 per cent of the population, around 30 million people, have died from coronavirus when the actual figure is less than 155,000. The town of Rockford, Illinois has been the site of weeks of protests, riots and arrests, and Friday and Saturday were no exception. Seventeen people have been arrested since yesterday and the police have declared the protests a a riot. A “Back the Blue” rally was held on Saturday morning and it was crashed by Black Lives Matter/ANTIFA, with sadly predictable results. At one point, protesters attempted to overwhelm the police. The owners of Atilis gym in New Jersey reopened on Saturday by kicking down the wooden barricades authorities used to block their entrance amid coronavirus restrictions. Co-owner Ian Smith posted a video of himself and his business partner, Frank Trumbetti, kicking the barriers and entering as a crowd cheers their decision. The dramatic display indicated that the months-long standoff between Gov. Phil Murphy and the gym owners wasn't finished. Smith's caption contained a defiant message for New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy: "You will not trample one [sic] our rights and you will not destroy our lives. We will not back down. Ever."
