She was engaged to be married. In hindsight, it is pretty obvious that the Mother of Our Lord needed to be married. She would need a husband to raise the Messiah. In his famous dissent in Olmstead v. United States, Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis in 1928 called the right to be left alone the most comprehensive of rights and the right most valued by civilized men. He was referring to the right to be left alone from the government — a right that today we call privacy. Olmstead was involved in bootlegging, and the feds tapped his phones without any search warrants. Oregon Judge Shreds State’s Defense, Extends Ban on Measure 114

Robert Raschio, presiding judge for Oregon’s 24th Judicial District, heard arguments on both sides of the issue on Tuesday and then extended the ban on implementation of Measure 114, while lambasting the state’s defense. At issue is just the part of the law — which was narrowly passed in November — that restricts the sale, ownership, or possession of magazines to 10 rounds or fewer.
