Darn that cutting edge science. It’s not supposed to aid the pro-life cause

In the Internet age, I think we all know how easy it is to dash something off, take a quick look (maybe even two), and push “send.” I try my darndest not to fall into that trap, and no doubt you do as well. Having said that, many the times I honestly ask myself, do pro- abortionists actually listen to what they say or read what they write?

A report from Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration has revealed that in 2022, eight babies were born alive in the state during abortions — double those reported to have been born alive in the state in 2021. In 2020, seven babies were reportedly born alive during abortions in the state. The reports do not indicate if the babies received medical care or how long they lived. Click for Full Text!

Comparing Christmas today with Christmases past, David Waugh and Laura Williams eloquently explain that we ordinary Americans in 2022 are far wealthier than were ordinary Americans of just a few decades ago. We are fortunate indeed to live where and when we do! But evidence of our enormous prosperity, and of its source, is found not only in that which during the holiday season is seen – gifts, decorations, food, and holiday entertainment – but also in that which is not seen… or, rather, in that which is ignored and discarded. Irish abortion provider calls for abortion up to birth

A major abortion provider has said that abortion should be available up to birth in Ireland ahead of a review of the Irish abortion law. Niall Behan, chief executive of the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA), a major abortion provider in Ireland, said that the current 12- week limit for abortion is “rigid” and that abortion should be available up to birth. The Twitter Files

If you’re still under the naively mistaken belief that there is no Deep State, the Twitter file dumps1 from Elon Musk detailing how Twitter, before his acquisition of the company, was coerced into doing the FBI’s bidding, with actual FBI agents on its staff to control the online narrative, ought to set the record straight. In fact, the lawlessness of our intelligence agencies and the psychological warfare against the American public is far worse than most people ever expected. Click for Full Text!

The First Gulf War – A Catastrophic Error

Confronted with the greatest opportunity for global peace in nearly a century, George H. W. Bush did not hesitate: Upon the advice of his retainers, he immediately elected the path of war in the Persian Gulf. This endeavor was hatched by Henry Kissinger’s economically illiterate protégés at the National Security Council and Bush’s Texas oilman secretary of state, James Baker. They falsely claimed that the will-o’- the-wisp of "oil security" was at stake, and that 500,000 American troops needed to be planted in the sands of Arabia. Click for Full Text!

“Baby Farms” are Already Here as Scientists Move Towards Creating Babies in Artificial Wombs
Post Date: 2023-01-03 16:21:25 by Charles_Byrd

Will artificial wombs replace natural gestation? Until very recently, that notion was a far-fetched conjuring out of futuristic novels such as “Brave New World.” But research that could make this dystopian prospect a reality is fast advancing. Scientists have already gestated premature lambs in artificial wombs and brought mouse fetuses halfway through gestation in such devices—meaning that gestational vats for humans could be operational within the next few decades. What might such a development mean for human society? A science communicator named Hashem Al-Ghaili just produced a fictional video that illustrates the disturbing potential. The video depicts the product ...

What If They Believe It?

One of the questions no one in the media plans to ask is why the FBI was so deeply involved in the Twitter disinformation campaigns? The word “disinformation” is the correct word in this case. Twitter was actively trying to provide the public with false information about a wide range of issues. One tool they used was silencing those who contradicted official narratives. They would instruct the Twitter censorship team to take down posts and ban particular users. Presumably, the FBI was not just involved with Twitter, but with all of the big social media companies. Of course, this was just part of what the FBI has been doing to undermine the normal functioning of society. Victor ...

Mentally infirm German Defence Minister Christina Lambrecht expresses her gratitude for the "special experiences" and "many encounters with interesting people" she's gained through the Ukraine war

Two nights ago, the profoundly bizarre German Minister of Defence Christina Lambrecht – until now best known for using military helicopters to fly her family around and for a botched and widely lampooned aid shipment of 5,000 helmets to the Ukraine – delivered probably the strangest New Years statement of any politician anywhere on Earth. Her message came via a poorly lit video, with horrendous audio marred by fireworks, apparently recorded by mobile phone on a random street in Berlin and uploaded to her verified Instagram account. US Patriot Missiles in Ukraine: A Desperate & Dangerous Escalation

US appears to be in the process of transferring its Patriot air defense missile system to Ukraine. CNN in its article, “Exclusive: US finalizing plans to send Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine,” claims the US will approve and then quickly ship the system or systems into Ukraine in just days after the decision is made. Paradoxically, CNN admits that training the large numbers of Ukrainians necessary to operate the system will take months. This has left analysts speculating that in fact NATO personnel already familiar with the system will operate it merely posing as “Ukrainians.” Click for Full Text! Click for Full Text!

2022 Euthanasia Prevention Coalition Year in Review. Victories, Defeats, and Changes.

2022 was a year of both victories, defeats, and changes. The most important victory was the Massachusetts Judicial Supreme Court deciding that there is no right to assisted suicide in the Massachusetts state Constitution. Possibly the saddest defeat was in Oregon which agreed to remove its assisted suicide residency requirement, essentially extending assisted suicide nationally in the US. In fact that, after passing Bill C- 7 in March 2021, Canadians with disabilities are being killed by (MAiD) euthanasia because of poverty, homelessness, and an inability to obtain necessary medical care. The stories related to euthanasia for disabled Canadians, veterans with PTSD and people who are unable ...

Vaxxing Deaths or Covid Deaths?
Post Date: 2023-01-03 16:08:56 by Charles_Byrd

Until the last couple of years, I doubt whether I’d ever spent even ten minutes thinking about vaccination issues, and probably a large majority of ordinary Americans fell into the same category. I’d had a few rounds of shots as a young child, supplemented by boosters every ten or fifteen years and an annual flu shot. I had no idea whether any of them worked, but except for having a sore arm for a day or so, none of them had produced any ill effects for me, nor for anyone I knew. Everything changed in 2020, as the sudden Covid epidemic led our government to heavily promote a massive vaccination drive based upon a new mRNA technology. This quickly caused the once-obscure ...

The vastly misunderstood ‘Morgentaler’ case: Three takeaways every pro-lifer in Canada should know

The 1988 Morgentaler decision from the Supreme Court of Canada is often referenced by those on both sides of the abortion debate. It is an important point in the history of abortion in Canada, but it is also one of the most misunderstood aspects of the abortion debate. It deserves understanding. Click for Full Text!

Media Rewrites Ukraine’s Dark History

Tonight, I'd like to speak to you about the war in Ukraine, but before doing so, I have a request to make of you. Try as hard as you can to set aside your views of whether the U.S. should or should not be intervening in that war by lavishing Ukraine with $100 billion and counting, and all sorts of sophisticated weaponry, as it treats the border conflict between two other countries on the other side of the world as its own proxy war. And even try to leave aside your views about whether you believe Russia invaded Ukraine without any provocation or justification, or whether you believe that the U.S. and the EU – deliberately or otherwise – provoked the Russians by continuing to ...

I don't listen to the radio very much. But if I'm driving alone, I will sometimes turn it on. I'll usually listen to a classic rock station, or maybe talk radio - but this time I landed on the classical station and was listening. The soft baritone voice of the announcer came on to wish me a happy first day of Kwanzaa, and told me that the theme of the day was Unity. They promised music by a black female composer later on. Hong Kong Teachers Instructed to Snoop on Students and Co-workers in Free Speech Clampdown by China

Teachers in Hong Kong will be mandated to report “potential violations” of the city’s laws to the authorities, in a further suppression of freedom of speech in the city’s schools, as well as passing an examination on their knowledge of a stringent national security law, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported. “Starting from the 2023/24 school year, all newly-appointed teachers in [publicly funded] schools are required to pass the Basic Law and National Security Law Test in order to be considered for appointment,” the Education Bureau said in a recent circular to schools. CA APPEALS COURT DENIES STAY OF INJUNCTION IN GUN PRIVACY CASE

A California appeals court panel has unanimously denied a request from state Attorney General Rob Bonta for an immediate stay of an injunction in a case brought by the Second Amendment Foundation in a challenge of the state law allowing the state Department of Justice to share personal information about firearms owners with private researchers. Bonta claimed the law, AB 173, “does not create a serious invasion of privacy.” The trial court disagreed, granting a preliminary injunction to the plaintiffs, thus placing a hold on enforcement of the information sharing law. The case is known as Barba, et.al. v. Bonta. Click for Full Text!

It sounds really dramatic to say there’s just ONE WAY to handle a crisis, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say just that. We’re looking at very hard times coming up – heck, they’ve hit many of us already. And I think there’s only one way to survive 2023. Frugality. Click for Full Text!

China, Philippines Try to Prevent ‘Miscalculation’ in Disputed Waters

The Philippines and China will set up direct communication between their foreign ministries to prevent “miscalculation and miscommunication” in the fiercely contested South China Sea, Manila said on December 29 last year. The deal will be inked during Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ visit to Beijing in January 2023 when he will convene with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, a foreign ministry official revealed. Popularity or seniority? Palo Alto debates best way to choose mayor
Post Date: 2023-01-02 22:02:16 by Charles_Byrd

Every January, the Palo Alto City Council conducts what amounts to a popularity contest among its members to select its new mayor and vice mayor. The process typically follows an established pattern, with the vice mayor nearly always ascending to the mayor's chair. Selection of the vice mayor, however, is often subject to intrigue, backdoor negotiations, political expediency and the occasional power tussle, injecting an element of tension and surprise into what is otherwise a tightly scripted and ceremonial first meeting of the year. Though 2022 was a feast for cynics, The Washington Post is confident that next year will be much happier — at least for Democrats. Artificial Art

For all of us who scribble for publication, at however low a level, all activities other than writing take on at most a secondary importance. Even meals, necessary as they no doubt are, can come to seem unwanted interruptions of the real business of life, which is writing. We are apt to forget that reading in general, and of our work in particular, is not of the same importance to 99.99 percent of the population, including that part of it that has great power over our lives, as it is to us. It is a humbling thought (humbling, that is, for scribblers) that in many small towns it is easier to find an electronic cigarette or have oneself tattooed than to buy a book. And now comes another blow ...

China’s ByteDance Admits It Spied on U.S. Journalists

Employees of Chinese technology behemoth ByteDance inappropriately retrieved data from social media platform TikTok to monitor American journalists in an attempt to trace the source of leaks to the media, the company acknowledged in December 2022. Such an admission can be contrasted with TikTok’s widespread efforts to persuade customers and governments of key markets such as the United States that they safeguard users’ data privacy and that the social media platform does not undermine the national security of these markets.
