The sun never sets on an American battlefield, it would seem. At least not in Syria, where U.S. forces again came under fire from militias allied with Iran, killing one American and injuring several others. The Biden administration launched a retaliatory strike on Iranian bases in Syria, triggering another round of attacks. The Syrian civil war has ebbed, with President Bashar al-Assad emerging victorious. At least, he is almost the last combatant still standing, relying on assistance from both Russian and Iranian forces. CENTCOM Says US Strike Killed ISIS Leader in Syria

US Central Command (CENTCOM) has said its forces launched a “unilateral strike” in Syria on Monday and claimed it killed a senior ISIS leader. CENTCOM said the man’s name was Khalid Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri and claimed he was responsible for planning terrorist attacks in Europe and Turkey. US Announces $2.6 Billion Weapons Package for Ukraine

The Biden administration on Tuesday announced a new massive $2.6 billion weapons package for Ukraine that includes HIMARS ammunition, missiles for air defense systems, artillery rounds, and other equipment. The package includes $500 million in the Presidential Drawdown Authority, which allows President Biden to ship weapons to Ukraine directly from Pentagon stockpiles. The other $2.1 billion will go toward purchasing new equipment for Kyiv that could take months or years to deliver, a program known as the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). Law enforcement discovered a suicide note, weapons, ammunition, and other evidence in the home of Audrey Hale, who shot and killed six people last month in Nashville, Tennessee. Investigators searched the home in the days after Hale was shot and killed by police during the incident, during which Hale killed three adults and three children at The Covenant School in Green Hills. Police released a list of evidence uncovered on Tuesday, listing multiple yearbooks for the school, a school photo, and journals related to "school shootings" and "firearm courses."
