When two people were shot at a vehicle sideshow in Turlock on New Year’s Eve, precious minutes were lost getting them aid because first responders had to contend with dozens of spectators and their vehicles around the scene. One of the victims survived, but the other, a 20-year-old Tracy man, died of his injuries. More than 150 Catholic priests and others associated with the Archdiocese of Baltimore sexually abused more than 600 children over the past 80 years, according to a state report released Wednesday that accused church officials of decades of cover-ups. The report, issued by the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, paints a damning picture of the archdiocese, which is the oldest Roman Catholic diocese in the country and spans much of Maryland. Some parishes, schools and congregations had more than one abuser at the same time — including St. Mark Parish in Catonsville, which had 11 abusers living and working there between 1964 and 2004. April 5, 2023: Seventy-six percent (76%) of voters say that the main problem with government finances is that the government spends too much. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 17% say the main problem is that the government doesn't receive enough money. The survey also found that 62% of voters think taxes these days are higher than they normally have been. The Biden administration on Tuesday announced a new massive $2.6 billion weapons package for Ukraine that includes HIMARS ammunition, missiles for air defense systems, artillery rounds, and other equipment.
