The median payment on a mortgage for a new home has exploded in the past three years as the Federal Reserve has hiked interest rates in response to blistering inflation. Planned Parenthood is planning on launching a ballot measure initiative to roll back Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ newly-signed six-week abortion ban, according to Politico. DeSantis signed a bill April 16 to protect the lives of the unborn after six weeks gestation with exceptions in cases of rape, incest and human trafficking, or when the mother’s life is in danger. The Biden administration will allow a Catholic hospital to keep its sanctuary candle after previously demanding its removal for fire safety requirements, the hospital’s lawyers announced Friday. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) ordered Saint Francis Health System’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel Michael J. Lissau in April to remove a candle inside the Catholic hospital’s sanctuary and denied requests for a waiver. A majority of Americans reject the idea that a person’s gender can be different from their sex at birth, according to a poll conducted Nov. 10 – Dec. 1 by The Washington Post and the Kaiser Family Foundation. Among adults, 57% believed gender was determined by sex at birth and 43% believed gender could be different from one’s sex at birth, the poll found.
