A former teacher at two Miami-area Catholic elementary schools is facing 15 charges for child sex crimes and was ordered by a judge Monday to stay away from students, according to Local10.com, a Florida-based outlet. Eric Bernard Givens, a former teacher at Theodore R. and Thelma A. Gibson Charter School and St. Mary’s Cathedral School, was arrested Friday on 15 criminal charges, including child molestation, battery and abuse of authority, according to Local10.com. The man accused of killing eight people and wounding several others in a mass shooting at a suburban Dallas shopping mall was discharged from the Army in 2008 because of mental health issues and apparently had been working as a security guard, according to neighbors and an Army official.
