F-16s Respond to Flight Near Mexican Border In AZ Associated Press Sunday, May 16, 2010 The North American Aerospace Defense Command says two F-16 fighter planes intercepted an ultralight aircraft near the U.S.-Mexico border in southwestern Arizona. The plane crossed from Mexico into Arizona just after 6 a.m. Sunday. NORAD dispatched two F-16s from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson and they shadowed the ultralight for about 30 minutes until it flew back into Mexico. Lt. Cmdr. Gary Ross says he was unaware of any radio contact with the small plane. Ultralight aircraft are sometimes used to carry drugs and other contraband across the border. NORAD responds about 200 times a year ...

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., who has been critical of Arizona's new immigration law, said Thursday he hasn't yet read the law and is going by what he's read in newspapers or seen on television. Mr. Holder is conducting a review of the law, at President Obama's request, to see if the federal government should challenge it in court. He said he expects he will read the law by the time his staff briefs him on their conclusions. "I've just expressed concerns on the basis of what I've heard about the law. But I'm not in a position to say at this point, not having read the law, not having had the chance to interact with people are doing the review, ...

The chambers are encouraging people across several northern Mexico states not to enter the United states today to shop or to do business, and to withhold their patronage from any U.S. companies. The name is a reference to the 2004 movie of the same name which portrays Mexican Americans withholding their labor in the US. Ramiro Cavazos, President of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, says he ...

Last week several Morgan Hill, California, students were sent home on Cinco de Mayo for wearing U.S. flag apparel that offended Latino students. The following day, on May 6, several Latino students walked out of school in response and held a rally in a nearby park. “We want respect,” the students chant. In the video below, a group of students in a pickup truck drive past the marching Latino students waving American flags. “What followed was an angry confrontation in which both groups of students shouted obscenities at each other,” Brian Shield writes for KRON 4. “No one was arrested and there are no reports of injuries.” It has yet to be explained by school ...

On any other day at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Daniel Galli and his four friends would not even be noticed for wearing t-shirts with the American flag. But Cinco de Mayo is not any typical day especially on a campus with a large Mexican American student population. Galli says he and his friends were sitting at a table during brunch break when the Vice Principal asked two of the boys to remove American flag bandannas that they wearing on their heads and for the others to turn their American flag t-shirts inside-out. When they refused, the boys were ordered to go to the principal's office. "They said we could wear it on any other day, but today is sensitive to Mexican ...

What the MSM Won't Tell You About Arizona Rancher Killed By Hitman What the MSM won’t tell you about about the rancher killed in Arizona by a cartel assassin As you know, one of our local ranchers, Bob Krentz, an R-CALF member, was murdered in Douglas, AZ, two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow. I received three messages from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement. Yesterday afternoon I talked to another rancher near us who is a friend of ours and whose great grandfather started their ranch here in 1880. These are good people. He told me what really happened out at the Krentz ranch and what you won’t read in the papers. The Border Patrol is afraid of ...

ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper Napolitano: Arizona Law "Bad for Law Enforcement" May 02, 2010 10:29 AM Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told me she thinks Arizona’s new immigration law is “bad for law enforcement”. During my “This Week” interview, Napolitano, a former Arizona Attorney General and Governor said, “they’ve already amended the law over the course of the week, and so even the Arizona legislature is starting to recognize there are problems with the law. Unfortunately, I think it does and can invite racial profiling.” Napolitano also defended federal efforts to police the southwest border. ...

[Dual Loyalty] Cardinal Mahony steps up attack on Arizona immigration crackdown

Cardinal Roger Mahony, an outspoken critic of the Arizona crackdown on illegal immigrants, had a message for Arizona officials. "Thank you, Arizona," he said Saturday during a May Day rally in downtown Los Angeles. "Thank you, Arizona." Mahony has emerged as one of the leading voices against the new law. Two weeks ago, he compared Arizona with Nazi Germany after the state passed a strict new law that allowed police to check the legal status of anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant. But Mahony said the Arizona legislation might turn out to be a net positive, hastening the passage of federal immigration reform. It also gives the Catholic church the chance to ...

Duncan Hunter Discusses Anchor Babies at Tea Party Gathering

Plugging up the anchor baby loophole should be one of our top priorities. Even if we can prevent an amnesty, automatic birthright citizenship for children born to illegals functions as a sort of rolling amnesty and a magnet for more illegals. It’s encouraging that nowadays more Americans are becoming educated about the gross abuse of the Fourteenth Amendment which makes this possible, and more voices are calling for a change. At a recent Tea Party gathering, California Representative Duncan Hunter spoke about the topic. An article in NBC San Diego entitled Deport Children of Illegals : Hunter (R. Stickney and Paul Krueger, Apr. 29th, 2010) reports that Representative Duncan Hunter ...

Catholic Church Facilitates Foreign Invasion

The controversy over Arizona's immigration law should be used to highlight the shameful role of the Roman Catholic Church in facilitating the foreign invasion of the U.S. This scandal deserves as much attention as the seemingly never-ending cases of sexual child abuse involving priests. In a major embarrassment for followers of the U.S. Catholic Church, Cardinal Roger Mahony of Los Angeles compared Arizona's new law to "German Nazi and Russian Communist techniques." He actually wrote this on his personal blog, under the headline, "Arizona's Dreadful Anti-Immigrant Law." Mahony is described by the Los Angeles Times as "a nationally influential figure ...

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops condemned an Arizona immigration law on Tuesday and encouraged Congress to work on comprehensive immigration reform. On the heels of its high-profile involvement in the healthcare debate, the bishops renewed the call they had made in 2007 for federal immigration legislation that gives illegal immigrants a path to citizenship . "Our national leaders must educate the American public on the need for reform and show courage in making it happen," Salt Lake City Bishop John Wester said on behalf of the U.S. bishops. "Until immigration reform is passed, other States will attempt to create and enforce immigration law, with harsh and ...

A new law in Arizona that requires law enforcement officers to determine whether people are in the U.S. illegally is "a step in the wrong direction" and shows the need for comprehensive immigration reform, according to the leader of a southeastern Minnesota organization that works with immigrants and refugees. "It's definitely a concern, and I hope it doesn't signal a trend," said Bob Tereba, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Winona, which offers services in Austin and Rochester. Tereba said he understands how frustrated people in Arizona are about illegal immigration, especially because federal immigration reform has taken so long. ...

Washington, DC—Calling it a “sad day” for the people of Arizona and our country, Janet Murguía, President and CEO of NCLR (National Council of La Raza), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, expressed deep disappointment that Governor Jan Brewer (R–AZ) signed Arizona SB 1070 into law today. The bill gives law enforcement license to stop citizens and noncitizens to check their immigration status based simply on “reasonable suspicion” that individuals are in the country without proper documentation. The law opens the door to the indiscriminate use of racial profiling and comes at a high cost to Arizona ...
