Graham Says Republicans to Resume U.S. Immigration Talks Post Date: 2012-11-12 10:44:17 by Brian S

Citing a growing rift between the Republican Party and Hispanic voters, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham said yesterday he intends to re-open bipartisan talks to overhaul U.S. immigration policy. Graham, who proposed a four-point immigration plan together with Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer of New York in 2010, said he will again work to get an agreement this year. A divisive congressional debate on immigration in 2006 and 2007 built a wall between Republicans and Hispanic voters, Graham said on CBS Face the Nation program. I intend to tear this wall down and pass an immigration reform bill thats an American solution to an American ...

After Tuesday nights re-election victory for President Barack Obama, MSNBCs Chuck Todd predicted that one of the presidents agenda items one promise he never managed to fulfill in his first term would breeze into law. Immigration reform, he said, will get 80 to 90 votes in the Senate. Since the election night results showed Republicans unable to attract Latino voters, he said, Republicans will run, not walk, in trying to support that now. On the Wednesday broadcast of MSNBCs The Daily Rundown, NBC White House correspondent Kristen Welker said Obamas victory speech in Chicago pointed to an ...

YUMA, AZ - One or more people attempted to cross the U.S. Mexico border are on the fence, literally. Yuma Sector U.S. Border Patrol agents foiling smuggling attempt Tuesday helped considerably by the would-be smugglers. The design of their plan was critically flawed when the make-shift ramp didn't quite perform as needed. The silver jeep Cherokee was spotted just after midnight in the imperial sand dunes. As agents arrive, two people ran into Mexico. Both the jeep and the ramps were taken by border patrol. The fence is about 14-feet high.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney used the slur illegal aliens on Wednesday while telling a Hispanic audience that he would not round up undocumented immigrants if he is elected in November. During a Univision candidate forum on Wednesday, the former governor, who has promised to veto the DREAM Act, said that he favored a permanent solution for children who were brought to the United States illegally, but refused to give details on how he would handle the over 1 million young undocumented immigrants who are eligible for work permits under a plan implemented by the Obama administration. While President Barack Obama has been receiving plenty of praise for his immigration policies at the Democratic National Convention, a petition launched to protest his policy of prosecutorial discretion in immigration cases is quickly gaining steam. The petition, which was launched August 15 by National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council president Chris Crane, has surpassed 75,000 signers despite a noticeable dearth of media attention. According to a release on the AFL-CIO and AFGE-backed ICE agents union website, the petition demands that ICE chief John Morton allow agents to pursue immigration cases without fear of suspension. We are demanding from the President to stop the deportations and separation of families, said Gerardo Torres, of Chicago. Tonight, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is addressing the Republican National Convention. Why is he being given that honor, you say? That is a good question, since he is at great odds with the partys nominee, the partys platform, and the American people on the issue of immigration, and continues to insult us on a weekly basis to pimp his pro-amnesty views that we have consistently rejected. At a forum on immigration, Bush said Republicans arent going to close the gap with Hispanic voters until they stop acting stupid by being too tough on immigrants (the usual code for illegal aliens). Bush said many Hispanic voters share the GOPs ...

Illegal Immigrants Could Receive $7B in Tax Credits This Year Post Date: 2012-08-24 21:13:00 by We The People

Billions of dollars in federal tax credits are flowing to illegal immigrants thanks to a loophole in the tax code that allows them to reap government dollars without authorization to work. A report issued last year by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration estimated claims of $4.2 billion in 2010. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) projected that through the Additional Child Tax Credit, illegal immigrants could procure about $7.4 billion this year, more than quadruple what was paid out four years ago and a startling sum more than the $161-million payout in 2001. While illegal immigrants are not eligible for similar tax credits, a dubious provision in the law grants them eligibility ...

Mexicos 80 million voters will go to the polls on Sunday to elect a new president for the first time since the military was deployed against the drug barons six years ago, beginning a bloody conflict that has already cost 50,000 lives. Enrique Peña Nieto, a telegenic former governor who enjoys a commanding 14-point lead, has vowed to shift the focus away from disrupting the cartels smuggling operations and look instead to curb the violence that all too often ends in beheadings or with bodies hung publicly from bridges. This doesnt mean that we dont pay attention to other crimes, or that we dont fight drug trafficking, but the central theme at ...
Border Patrol Agents Taught to "Run Away" and "Hide" when Encountering a Shooter Post Date: 2012-06-28 15:32:32 by Hondo68

In another nauseating series of "Virtual Learning Center" brainwashing courses that Border Patrol agents are forced to sit behind a computer for hours and endure, we are now taught in an "Active Shooter" course that if we encounter a shooter in a public place we are to "run away" and "hide". If we are cornered by such a shooter we are to (only as a last resort) become "aggressive" and "throw things" at him or her. We are then advised to "call law enforcement" and wait for their arrival (presumably, while more innocent victims are slaughtered). Shooting incidents cited in the course are Columbine, the Giffords shooting ...

The Supreme Court has struck down most of the controversial Arizona immigration law, but upheld a key provision. The provision that was upheld requires state and local police officers, during routine stops, to check the immigration status of anyone they suspect could be in the country illegally. Other provisions, though, were struck down. The federal government claimed the law encroached on its authority to enforce immigration law. WASHINGTON Courting Hispanic voters, Mitt Romney is promising to ease the path to a green card, fix a complicated and cumbersome system to let farm workers into the United States and finish a high-tech fence along the Mexican border. What Romney glossed over Thursday before the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials was how difficult some of those changes could be. Some already have been tried, with little or no success. Heres a closer look at his immigration assertions and how they match up with the facts: ROMNEY: As president, Id reallocate green cards to those seeking to keep their families under one roof.
