Members of Congress sought Wednesday to calculate the immense financial cost of the border crisis at a hearing held by the House Homeland Security Committee. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has implemented a radical agenda at the expense of the safety, security, and economic well-being of all Americans, committee Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn., said, adding that the committee has a duty to conduct oversight and expose how taxpayer dollars are being abused in support of this radical, open-borders agenda. The Big Apple took in more migrants than anywhere else in the country since last spring, and city taxpayers are on course to spend an astronomical $40,000 per migrant far more than any of the top five cities where asylum seekers land, data analyzed by The Post shows. Between last April through the end of July 2023, over 125,000 migrants have headed for the five boroughs, according to data on the zip codes where migrants told U.S. Customs and Border Protection they plan to settle. A federal appeals court granted Texas' request to leave its floating barrier in the Rio Grande Thursday evening, a victory for the state that reversed a federal judge's order issued one day earlier. Federal District Judge David A. Ezra ruled on Wednesday that Texas must remove a string of buoys, installed to deter migrants from crossing the Rio Grande, siding with the federal government after it sued the state for placing the barrier in an international waterway. Mayors from New York City, D.C., Chicago and other blue areas have been wailing that theyre now border states overrun by illegal migrants. So with due deliberation, the Biden administration has decided that its going to keep the border open, but make the invaders stay where theyre supposed to implement demographic change and turn a big red state a whole other shade of blue. Texas has been busing illegal aliens to New York City and other places and while that policy has attracted a lot of attention from both sides, the reality is that the majority of illegal aliens arent looking to stay at a Texas bus station. They want to go to the places theyve heard about, ...

A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction against the State of Texas and Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday ordering that the floating border barrier in the Rio Grande be moved, as it irreparably harms the public safety, navigation, and the operations of federal agency officials in and around the Rio Grande. Wednesdays order comes after Judge David Ezra of the U.S. District Court in Austin reviewed final arguments that were presented last month in the ongoing lawsuit over the placement of the 1,000-foot floating barrier, part of Abbotts Operation Lone Star. A U.S. judge ordered Texas to move floating buoys that were placed in the middle of the Rio Grande to block migrants from illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, a tentative win for President Joe Biden, whose administration sued the state. U.S. District Court Judge David Ezra issued a preliminary injunction in Austin that requires Texas to relocate the buoys, currently near the city of Eagle Pass, to an embankment on the Texas side of the river. The Biden administration argued in a legal challenge that the barrier illegally disrupts navigation and was installed without permission from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Click for Full Text!

The controversial fleet of bright orange buoys that Texas deployed in the middle of the Rio Grande to deter illegal crossings, now commonly referred to as the floating border wall, is proving ineffective thus far, according to a review by The Wall Street Journal. While migrants have been unable to get past or over the 1,000-foot-long chain in the shallow waters of the river off Eagle Pass, Texas, they are simply skirting the barricade and entering at different points along the Rio Grande, according to the report. Canada Shut Its Land Border to Asylum Seekers. More Refugees Came Anyway Post Date: 2023-09-03 21:17:25 by Charles_Byrd

A deal Canada struck this year to stem the flow of asylum seekers entering from the U.S. was, at first glance, a quick success: Within days, the number of people caught at unofficial crossings along the border dwindled to a trickle. But five months later, the overall number of people filing refugee claims in Canada has risen instead of falling. Many now come by air, while others sneak across the border and hide until they can apply for asylum without fear of being sent back, people working with migrants told Reuters. Click for Full Text!
