OKLAHOMA CITY, April 3, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- "The level of hatred and bullying is not like anything we've seen," says Stephen Black, who lived as a gay man for 8 years, over 35 years ago, and now Executive Director of First Stone Ministries is in the crosshairs of gay activists. Black is the author of a ground-breaking book that reveals that 70-percent of people who want freedom from a destructive same-sex lifestyle find it. In Freedom Realized Black and his colleagues examined 25 years of case files and found incontrovertible evidence that people can and do change. On April 6, First Stone Ministries (firststone.org) is hosting a public screening of ...

The Air Force has ruled that one of its commanders had a right to exercise his religious beliefs when he declined to sign a certificate of appreciation for the same-sex spouse of an airman under his command. Col. Leland Bohannon, a Christian, had previously refused to sign a certificate of appreciation for the same-sex spouse of a retiring master sergeant in his command. Last year, the Air Force ruled that the incident was discrimination, and passed Bohannon up for promotion to brigadier general. Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., and other lawmakers, sent a letter to Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson in December, supporting Bohannons bid for a religious accommodation in the case. ...
House Vote on FOSTA is a Win for Censorship (LF shutdown by GOP Leadership?) Post Date: 2018-02-28 13:25:53 by Hondo68

The bill passed today 388-25 by the U.S. House of Representatives marks an unprecedented push towards Internet censorship, and does nothing to fight sex traffickers. H.R. 1865, the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA), allows for private lawsuits and criminal prosecutions against Internet platforms and websites, based on the actions of their users. Facing huge new liabilities, the law will undoubtedly lead to platforms policing more user speech. The Internet we know today is possible only because of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which prevents online platforms from being held liable for their users speech, except in certain ...

We may be beginning to see the end of a two-party system, Kasich, a Republican, told ABC News on Sunday. "I'm starting to really wonder if we are going to see a multiparty system at some point in the future in this country because I don't think either party is answering people's deepest concerns and needs. Republicans repeal the Tea Party Post Date: 2018-02-10 12:44:54 by Hondo68

The Tea Party had one tangible achievement to show for all of the havoc it caused: The enactment of spending caps that resulted from the 2011 standoff over raising the debt ceiling. Those caps are now under threat. (AP Photo/Andy Manis) During the Obama era, Republicans campaigned on promises to restrain federal spending and repeal Obamacare. Having gained total control of Washington, they have chosen to repeal the Tea Party instead. The Tea Party meant a lot of things to a lot of different people, but for many limited government conservatives, the movements energy brought a new hope of counteracting the inertia that has traditionally led both parties to expand the size and scope of ...

CARDINAL HOPES GAY MASSES CAN BE ROLLED OUT THROUGHOUT CHURCH Post Date: 2018-01-18 09:09:14 by A K A Stone

A Westminster diocesan initiative to extend a special welcome to lesbian and gay Catholics at a regular Mass has proved so successful that Cardinal Vincent Nichols would like it to be rolled out nationwide, his lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) liaison priest has said. The Masses, at the Jesuit Farm Street Church in central London, replaced the more controversial, so-called gay Masses that were designated for LGBT Catholics at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Soho until 2013. Key to the transition was that the Farm Street Masses are an extension of the dioceses pastoral care for gay people. LGBT Catholics join the regular congregation at the 6.15 p.m. ...

While the Vatican vacillates over whether to welcome gays into the church, the new kids in the flock seem to have no qualms about the subject. Close to 85% of self-identified Catholics between the ages of 18 and 29 believe gays and lesbians should be accepted by society, according to a 2014 survey conducted by the Pew Research Center. These younger Catholics are also supportive of legalizing same-sex marriages, with 75% throwing their weight behind the concept. The positive attitudes toward homosexuality are less likely to be found among older adults. About 57% of Catholics aged 65 and older told Pew that they believe homosexuality should be accepted.

Father Meier rejects Catholic teaching on homosexuality in favor of Pew polls. No really...Here is what Father Meier states on his website:

How the Catholic Priesthood Became an Unlikely Haven for Many Gay Men Post Date: 2018-01-18 08:42:13 by A K A Stone

Back in March, Pope Francis sparked a wave of headlines when he hinted at the possibility of ordaining married men as priests. Since theres no evidence that church practice will actually change, reactions to Francis comments were premature. But the speculators ignored one interesting point: Opening the priesthood to married men would probably reduce the high percentage of priests who are gay. While doing research for my book The Sex Effect, I came across many scholars who suggested that preventing priests from marrying altered the makeup of the priesthood over time, unintentionally providing a shelter for some devout gay men to hide their sexual orientation. By continuing to ...

NEWARK The word pilgrimage usually evokes visions of far-off, exotic places, but for some 100 gay and lesbian Catholics and their families, a pilgrimage to the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart here on a recent Sunday was more like a homecoming. The doors to the cathedral were opened to them, and they were welcomed personally by the leader of the Archdiocese of Newark, Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin. They were seated on folding chairs at the cathedrals center, in front of the altar in the towering sanctuary, under the blue-tinted glow of stained glass. I am Joseph, your brother, Cardinal Tobin told the group, which included lesbian, gay, bisexual and ...

Gregory Greiten of St. Bernadette Catholic church here said he was breaking the silence of gay men in the clergy so he could reclaim his own voice. "I am Greg. I am a Roman Catholic priest. And, yes, I am gay!" he told worshipers Sunday. He received a standing ovation. While gay men do serve as priests, rarely does priest to come out to his parishioners in this way. In his column, Greiten shares an estimate from The Changing Face of the Priesthood of 8,554 and 21,571 gay Catholic priests in the United ...

Six years later, it ranks top in Europe for gay rights, it was the first country to ban gay conversion therapy - and it's about to legalise same-sex marriage. "Malta wants to keep leading on LGBT issues and civil liberties, to serve as a model for the rest of the world," Prime Minister Joseph Muscat told the BBC. Fresh from a resounding electoral victory, Mr Muscat put forward the Marriage Equality Bill as the first law to be discussed in parliament.
