We Are Headed For War-Paul Craig Roberts By Greg Hunter On September 21, 2016 In Political Analysis Former Assistant Treasury Secretary (in the Reagan Administration) Dr. Paul Craig Roberts has a stark warning for the world. Dr. Roberts says, We changed our nuclear doctrine. It used to be we used nuclear weapons only in retaliation. There was no first use, but the George W. Bush regime, the Neocons, changed our nuclear doctrine. Its now a preemptive first strike. So, this tells both the Russians and Chinese they could get a preemptive first strike. Then, we tell the Russians we are putting missiles right on your border. You wont have two minutes notice. They ...
The War Economy – CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Warns About Job Loss if the U.S. Stops Arming Saudi Arabia
Post Date: 2016-09-10 14:05:45 by Hondo68
Ladies and gentlemen, it appears the long anticipated moment of peak mainstream media stupidity may have finally arrived. This is what passes for journalism in America today. The Intercept reports: Sen. Rand Pauls expression of opposition to a $1.1 billion U.S. arms sale to Saudi Arabia which has been brutally bombing civilian targets in Yemen using U.S.-made weapons for more than a year now alarmed CNNs Wolf Blitzer on Thursday afternoon. Blitzers concern: That stopping the sale could result in fewer jobs for arms manufacturers. So for you this is a moral issue, he told Paul during the Kentucky Republicans appearance on CNN. Because ...

30 Seconds To Midnight By Paul Craig Roberts July 25, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - Former US Secretary of Defense William Perry warns that the world is on the knife edge of nuclear catastrophe. Such catastrophe can result accidentally from electronic failures or glitches in warning systems and from the recklessly aggressive and unnecessary force buildup against Russia. Conn Hallinan discusses these issues. I doubt Hallinan is correct about Washingtons military predominance. This is Washingtons view, and this view makes Washington confident that it holds the aces. It is a mistake for Hallinan to encourage Washington in this view. Nevertheless, Hallinan makes ...

Is the Army Preparing for a Major Deployment: Orders 177,000 Bulletproof Armor Plates
Post Date: 2016-05-19 10:43:57 by Deckard
Traditionally, the best way to keep track of future military deployments absent unexpected events, of course has been to follow key procurement contracts from the U.S. Department of Defense of mission critical offensive wartime equipment such as weapons and ammo, or, less followed, core defensive components such as kevlar, body armor and other forms of core personal protective gear. These usually take place shortly prior to major events involving US armed forces. Which is why we were surprised to learn that earlier today, the US Department of Defense revealed it had placed a $93 million order for 177,000 ballistic body armor plates from the US militarys ...

"We have seen this declaration of emergency in Raqqa, whatever that means," US Colonel Steve Warren of US-led anti-Daesh coalition told reporters on Friday. © AFP 2016/ DELIL SOULEIMAN Daesh 'Underground City': Liberated Syrian Town Reveals Militant Secrets (VIDEO) Warren said that various reports read that the violent extremist group is in turmoil, feeling threatened, as they should." Click for Full Text! The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group was created by the US and its allies and their ruse in waging a military campaign to allegedly destroy the group has been exposed by Russia, says an American scholar and political analyst. Dr. Kevin Barrett made the remarks while discussing the US-led military efforts against Daesh which started in 2014 in Iraq and Syria. US Air Force Major General Peter Gersten, who is responsible for all US-led combat operations across Iraq and Syria, claimed this week that airstrikes by the so-called coalition against Daesh positions inside Syria and Iraq have led to the possible destruction of up to $800 million of the terror ...

Two Russian warplanes buzzed a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer in the Baltic Sea in what a defense official called a "simulated attack profile," one of several close encounters between the destroyer and the aircraft last week. The Russian jets came within 1,000 yards of the destroyer, flying just 100 feet off the ground, a defense official said. The next day, a Russian jet came within just 30 feet of the destroyer, the defense official said. These latest provocations by Russia may provide insight into a military that is now willing to challenge the US similar to the cold war days. Russian President Vladimir Putin is rebuilding Russia's military capability to restore it ...
One Big Reason America Isn't Ready for World War Three

I was on this hill as a battery commander with six 88-millimeter antitank guns, and the Americans kept sending tanks down the road and we kept knocking them out. Finally, we ran out of ammunition and the Americans didnt run out of tanks. -- Nazi Artillery Commander, Battle of Salerno At the start of World War II, the combined economies of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan were only half the size of the United States. If for no other reason than the sheer weight of its factories and work force, America thereby held the strategic high ground. In fact, the statistical correspondence between economic power and military might in World War II is startlingly. While the United States could ...

The U.S. militarys top commander in the Pacific is arguing behind closed doors for a more confrontational approach to counter and reverse Chinas strategic gains in the South China Sea, appeals that have met resistance from the White House at nearly every turn.Adm. Harry Harris is proposing a muscular U.S. response to China's island-building that may include launching aircraft and conducting military operations within 12 miles of these man-made islands, as part of an effort to stop what he has called the "Great Wall of Sand" before it extends within 140 miles from the Philippines' capital, sources say.Harris and his U.S. Pacific Command have been waging a ...
Success in Syria
Post Date: 2016-04-06 11:48:47 by paraclete
anyone notice the success the Syrian army has been having in Syria or since the US is not involved perhaps it isn't newsworthy? Interesting what happens when you take some of the combatants out of the picture and let an army do what it is supposed to do. I think this might upset the Turks and the Saudi a little and perhaps even the US military industrial complex because we can bet Russia will get all those reequipment and reconstruction dollars. The Syrian army might even finish the war before the US allies, now I can remember they ran last in another important race, remember WWII

Sabre rattling has reached new heights as the North Koreans chuck a tantrum because their threats are not taken seriously and someone wants to take their toys away. Once again we move closer to war on the Korean pensinula, a result of not finishing off the cold war conflict. A world tired of war can be excused for taking the easy way out, but a ceasation of hostilities does not mean the war is over, at least not in the minds of one of the belligerants. the proof of statesmanship will be seen in the way world leaders respond and threats of nuclear war from the Dump will be unhelpfull Click for Full Text!
Is Donald Trump an extremeist?
Post Date: 2016-03-22 18:25:21 by paraclete
In the light of comments made by Trump following the Brussels attacks you have to ask whether Trump is an extremist too, just as dangeruous as those he rails against. DONALD Trump reacted to the explosions that rocked Brussels on Tuesday by describing the it as a disaster city and warning that this is just the beginning. Speaking on NBCs TODAY, Trump said: Belgium is no longer Belgium. Belgium is not the Belgium you and I knew from 20 years ago, which was one of the most beautiful and safest cities in the world. Belgium is a horror show right now. Terrible things are happening. People are leaving. People are afraid. This all happened because, ...

Twilight of the neoconservatives

Marco Rubio speaks in South Carolina. The movement's unlikely 20-year reign over the GOP could now be coming to an end. In the early winter months of 1998, in a series of drab meeting rooms in the Rayburn House Office Building near the Capitol in Washington, DC, a group of dissident conservative intellectuals, a tweeded and mostly forgotten faction of foreign policy thinkers calling themselves neoconservatives, scored the first in a series of surprise political coups that would lead them to the heights of power and, within a few years, change the world. The meeting rooms held what House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Sen. Bob Dole called the Congressional Policy Advisory Board. ...

The Syrian government and the main opposition umbrella group say they accept the terms of a deal to cease hostilities from Saturday. The government said it would halt "combat operations" in line with the plan announced by the US and Russia. But the opposition said its acceptance depended on government forces ending sieges and air strikes of civilians. The deal will not apply to the two main jihadist groups in Syria, Islamic State (IS) and the rival al-Nusra Front. Al-Nusra is an affiliate of al-Qaeda and forms part of a major rebel alliance that controls large parts of the country's north-west. More than 250,000 people have died in almost five years of war in Syria. ...
Halt called in Syria
Post Date: 2016-02-11 21:38:06 by paraclete
World powers have agreed to seek a nationwide "cessation of hostilities" in Syria to begin in a week's time, after talks in Germany. The halt will not apply to the battle against jihadist groups Islamic State (IS) and al-Nusra Front. Ministers from the International Syria Support Group also agreed to accelerate and expand aid deliveries. The announcement comes as the Syrian army, backed by Russian air strikes, advances in Aleppo province. The move threatens to encircle tens of thousands of civilians in rebel-held parts of the major city of Aleppo. US Secretary of State John Kerry admitted the ceasefire plan was "ambitious" and said the real test would be ...

Gee it's tough when your proxy war doesn't go the way you want. Turkey is looking for support in its war on the Kurds and isn't finding it, so it is suggesting the US is responsible for its woes in an endeavour to defect its interal political situation. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has lashed out at the US over its support for Syria's main Kurdish group. The failure to recognise the Democratic Union Party (PYD) as a terrorist group was creating a "sea of blood", he said. Turkey says the PYD, on which the US relies to battle so-called Islamic State in Syria, is an offshoot of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Mr Erdogan's comments ...
Federal Court Says North Carolina’s Racially Motivated Gerrymandering Is Unconstitutional
Post Date: 2016-02-10 07:45:16 by Willie Green
The state's bizarrely shaped districts decrease the power of black voters. Shortly after North Carolina Republicans took over the state legislature in 2010, they drew up new district maps to determine the boundaries of congressional and state legislative districts, carving them up to their partisan advantage. On Friday, a federal court declared that two of those congressional districts were gerrymandered in a way that was racially discriminatory, deliberately clustering many black voters who often vote Democratic into large, oddly shaped districts in violation of their constitutional rights.Elections should be decided through a contest of issues, not skillful ...
