News deflects from scathing reports on US drone use At yet another politically expedient juncture for the White House, a top Al Qaeda commander is said to have been killed in Yemen by a missile fired from a drone. Just a few days after news broke that yet another US drone strike had killed 13 Yemeni civilians, including three women, we now learn that, according to senior Yemeni Defense Ministry officials, al Qaedas No. 2 leader in Yemen, Saeed al-Shihri, has been slain. A senior official at the Yemeni presidents office confirmed the attack, but said DNA tests have yet to establish al-Shihris identity. reports the AP. Of course, as with practically ...
Dick Morris: Bill Clinton Personally Orchestrated the 1993 Waco, Texas Tragedy [Shameless Leftists] Post Date: 2012-09-06 16:32:29 by Capitalist Eric

It looks like somebody is going to have to update the Waco Siege page on Wikipedia. Apparently the whitewashed history that former President Bill Clinton would like us to believe regarding the 1993 federal assault on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, is missing important details regarding his own personal involvement. In response to Bill Clintons highly publicized linking of the Tea Party movement to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing in an op-ed piece for the New York Times, former Clinton adviser Dick Morris disclosed on Monday that it was Clinton himself, and not Attorney General Janet Reno, as Americans have been led to believe for the past 17 years, who called the shots ...
Democrats Hand GOP ready-made Commercial for Florida Post Date: 2012-09-05 18:39:38 by jwpegler

The Democrat platform committee removed the word "god" from their platform this week. They also remove language recognizing that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. After a media uproar, they hastily changed course, against their own rules -- they needed 2/3rds of the delegates to agree to amend the platform and they didn't get 2/3rds, even on the third try... Check out this video starting at 55 seconds. It's a ready made commercial for the GOP in Florida.

What I Saw at the Convention Post Date: 2012-09-02 15:43:15 by Hondo68

I spent a day of my life at the 2012 Republican Convention. The plan was to stay for full four days, but the choreographed and staged "decision-making" made the 2,000 plus delegates irrelevant. Republican Party members hoping to see democracy in action were left staring at a fuzzy gray screen, listening to static, beating their heads against padded white walls. No free man would subject himself to such idiocy. As Doug Wead so delightfully put it, the party has been reduced to "ten fat men sitting in a room." One of these fat men is John Sununu. Watching him on Tuesday afternoon steamroll the wishes of half of the delegate floor, and destroy what was left of the ...
Bain Capital’s Obama crony payday Post Date: 2012-09-01 22:31:21 by We The People

As Democrats convene in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday, they likely will double down on their claim that Bain Capital is really the Bain Crime Family. They will accuse Republican nominee Mitt Romney and Bains other greedy co-founders of stealing their winnings, evading taxes and lighting cigars with $100 bills on their yachts. Democrats will ignore this inconvenient truth: Bains private-equity executives have enriched dozens of organizations and millions of individuals in the Democratic base including some who scream most loudly for President Obamas re-election.Government-worker pension funds are the chief beneficiaries of Bain Capitals economic ...

The General Lee Bo and Luke Dukes vehicle of choice from The Dukes of Hazzard is a classic and instantly recognizable Hollywood car. But its about to get a little less recognizable as Warner Bros., the studio that owns the theatrical, DVD and licensing rights to The Dukes of Hazzard, has decided to remove the confederate flag from all future versions of the car. The news has reportedly been floating around the hobby community over the past few days as Dukes of Hazzard collectors became aware of a new regulation. A collector on HobbyTalk.com was told by a representative at Dukes of Hazzard toy company Tomy: ...

Coal Miners Say They Were Forced to Attend Romney Event and Donate (mandatory Mitt worship services) Post Date: 2012-08-28 15:45:44 by Hondo68

A group of coal miners in Ohio feel they would have been fired if they did not attend an Aug. 14 event with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and contribute to his campaign -- and to make matters worse, they lost of day of pay for their trouble. In phone calls and emails to WWVA radio host David Blomquist, employees at the Century Mine in Ohio said they feared retaliation if they did not attend the Romney event. "Yes, we were in fact told that the Romney event was mandatory and would be without pay, that the hours spent there would need to be made up my non-salaried employees outside of regular working hours, with the only other option being to take a pay cut ...

Can the GOP stop Tropical Storm Romney? Post Date: 2012-08-26 18:10:03 by We The People

The big news is that the Republican Convention in Tampa has been delayed because of Tropical Storm Isaac. Perhaps this is an opportunity for the GOP to think twice about nominating Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination. Despite his record as the father of socialized medicine and gay marriage in Massachusetts, Romney wants Republicans at the GOP's national convention in Tampa to overlook all of that. In effect, he wants to be forgiven for his liberal record. This is not just a record that is liberal on trivial issues. Romney was on the wrong side of some of the most important issues of our time. But Romney does not want to forgive Todd Akin, the Republican Senate ...

Mitt Romney, the Liberal Swine Conservatives Love Post Date: 2012-08-24 20:37:35 by We The People

Romney is making flip-floppers of the entire conservative movement. Nothing like a general election to give people a bad case of amnesia. A few months ago conservatives were bashing Mitt Romney with such vigor they made a Mongol invasion look genteel. To Deroy Murdock of National Review, Willard Mitt Romneys latest flip flop reminded him of Andy Warhols quip: Thats not fake. Its real plastic. Compared to Romney, Murdock wrote, I have seen mannequins in less empty suits. Mona Charen, another National Review regular, spoke on behalf of all right-thinking people when she said positions such as Romneys make our hearts ...

It turns out Mitt Romney's personal hero, his father, George Romney, was the kind of Republican that doesn't exist anymore: a liberal. (We learned this reading The Real Romney, a deeply reported and informative book by Michael Kranish and Scott Helman. You should read if want to know about the guy whom half the country wants to be our next president. Pre-order the up-coming, updated, paperback version here. Or buy the Kindle edition.) George Romney was elected three times to be Michigan's Republican governor. He ran for President as a Republican. He served in Richard Nixon's cabinet. Why do we say George Romney he was a liberal? Kranish and Helman sum it up ...

In the afterglow of Mitt Romneys announcement that House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan -- a strong fiscal conservative with a 100% pro-life voting record -- would be his running mate, conservatives were excited to think that this might mean a shift to the right by the Romney campaign. We want Romney to win, so we hope that is true. However, such assumptions discount the influence of Mitt Romneys liberal campaign staff on both the direction of the campaign and Paul Ryans fortunes on the ticket.Go here to sign our letter to Governor Romney urging him to turn Paul Ryan loose to tell America the truth about Obamas out-of-control spending.Governor Romney has no ...

Conservatives Can Stop the Liberal Mitt Romney Post Date: 2012-08-23 07:03:30 by We The People

Former Gov. Mitt Romney is polling at 27 percent of the Republican electorate. That still means that three quarters of the Republicans do not want Mitt Romney. The three conservative candidates, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Gov. Rick Perry, and former Sen. Rick Santorum together poll at almost 40 percent. Romney can be stopped if conservatives do two things. First conservatives must unite. We must agree, regardless of whether we like Gingrich, Perry, or Santorum, that Romney must be stopped. The second thing is conservatives must hit Romney on his liberal record. Romney is not a Massachusetts moderate. He is a liberal. If the conservatives will coalesce around one of the ...
Mitt Romney: A Liberal’s Liberal Republican Post Date: 2012-08-22 22:07:54 by We The People

The most prominent candidate for the GOP nomination is former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Hes a prolific fundraiser and enjoys widespread name recognition, and hes the darling of the GOP establishment. George Will lists him as one of the few serious presidential candidates. But should Romney be the GOPs presidential nominee? The answer is absolutely not. Although there is no perfect conservative, and although conservatives have serious issues with every candidate running, Mitt Romney is nothing more than a strident liberal masquerading as a moderate. As Selwyn Duke rightly wrote in 2007, Romney is the Barack Obama of the GOP. Every ...

In the Post/Bloomberg debate, Romney shows his liberal side. Is Mitt Romney really a conservative? For several years, he has tried to assure Republican primary voters that he is. But in last nights Washington Post/Bloomberg debate, he sent multiple signals that beneath his orthodox positions on many issuesunions, stimulus-bashing, corporate tax relieflurks some liberal thinking. Here are his key moments from the debate. 1. Bailouts. Twenty-five minutes in, Romney was asked whether he would prop up the economy in a future financial crisis the way President Bush did in 2008. Unlike some other Republicans at the table, Romney agreed with Bush that action had to ...

WASHINGTON Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who is out-fundraising President Barack Obama by impressive margins, is attracting thousands of donors this summer from traditionally Democratic areas of the United States, collecting millions of dollars in even progressive communities from New York to Los Angeles, according to an analysis by The Associated Press of new campaign data. Donors from tiny neighborhoods of Manhattan to even the famously liberal Castro neighborhood in San Francisco helped Romney and the GOP outraise Obama by more than $25 million in July, beating him and the Democratic Party in contributions for a third consecutive month, the AP analysis showed. ...

COLUMBUS, Ohio Mitt Romney on Wednesday unequivocally disavowed more than $700 billion in Medicare spending cuts proposed by his new running mate, Rep. Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin. In an interview on CBS This Morning, Romney was asked how he squared his running mates plan to cut spending on the popular healthcare program for the elderly with his criticism of President Obama for making the same reductions. First of all, Congressman Ryan has joined my campaign, and his campaign is my campaign now, and were on exactly the same page, Romney said in response to anchor Anthony Masons question.
