Obama Fans Threaten Sheriff Joe About Birth Certificate Investigation Last week I told you about Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaios investigation into the birth records of Barack Obama. Arpaio has been not only investigating the authenticity of Obamas birth records, of which three different ones have been released by the White House, but he is also investigating the reports that Obama is using someone elses Social Security Number. He has told the White House that they need to authorize the Department of Health in Hawaii to open up all of the original paper and ink documents concerning Obamas birth to an independent court-authorized forensic examination. Protesters Coming Down With the "Zuccotti Lung"Park conditions put demonstrators at risk for variety of sicknesses, officials say. With wintry weather poised to swoop into the cramped outdoor quarters of Occupy Wall Street protesters, it may not be long before more campers catch what's being called "Zuccotti lung." That's what demonstrators have dubbed the sickness that seems to be spreading among them at an unpleasantly high rate these days: "It's a real thing," Willie Carey, 28, told the New York Times. With little sleep in cold conditions, cigarettes and drinks being passed from mouth to mouth, and few opportunities to wash hands, Zuccotti ...

by Capitol Confidential When Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) was convinced by a retailing giant to enact legislation imposing price controls on credit card transactions he engineered a massive wealth transfer from credit card companies to retailers a cost that would ultimately be borne by consumers. Opponents of Durbins fee warned of the consequences of his actions including increased costs for consumers and elimination of credit card incentive programs. As Milton Friedman said, there is no free lunch. After the government imposed their fee cap, the marketplace responded predictably. Banks, including Bank of America, raised fees on consumers in order to cover the cost ...

2 deaths at Occupy protests in Calif. and Vermont OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police are investigating a fatal shooting just outside the Occupy Oakland encampment in Northern California and the apparent suicide of a military veteran at an Occupy encampment in Vermont's largest city. The Oakland killing is further straining relations between local officials and anti-Wall Street protesters. A preliminary investigation into the gunfire Thursday that left a man dead suggests it resulted from a fight between two groups of men at or near the camp on a plaza in front of Oakland's City Hall, police Chief Howard Jordan said. Investigators do not yet know if the men in the fight were associated ...

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- In Oakland, Occupy protesters gathered Wednesday night and voted to withdraw a resolution calling for future demonstrators to remain peaceful. A small number of the protesters have openly called for the use of violence as a tactic to get their message out. The vote by the group came just hours after Oakland city leaders called for the camp at Frank Ogawa Plaza to shut down immediately. City officials have also cut off streetlights at the camp as well as a faucet protesters had been using to get water. Also Thursday, Oakland City Council President Larry Reid told ABC7 News that the council may take a "no confidence" vote for Mayor Jean Quan.

The Obama administration said Thursday it is delaying a decision on a massive oil pipeline until it can study new potential routes that avoid environmentally sensitive areas of Nebraska, a move that likely puts off final action on the pipeline until after the 2012 election. The announcement by the State Department means Calgary-based TransCanada Corp. will have to figure out a way to move the proposed Keystone XL pipeline around the Nebraska Sandhills region and Ogallala aquifer, which supplies water to eight states. The State Department said it will require an environmental review of the new section, which is expected to be completed in early 2013. President Barack Obama said the 1,700 ...

A man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a paramedic and breaking his leg at the Occupy Wall Street site Wednesday night. Police say paramedics were called to Zuccotti Park for a man who was acting irrationally. When they arrived, the man in question appeared to be in emotional distress and police decided he needed to be taken to the hospital. But he refused to be placed in the ambulance and pushed one of the EMTs into a ladder, fracturing the EMT's leg. The man is being charged with assault. Earlier in the day, Mayor Bloomberg defended the protesters as law-abiding folks who keep to themselves and don't cause trouble. "I will say, in all fairness to the people down ...

OAKLAND (CBS/AP) A group of Oakland anti-Wall Street protesters who blame large banks for the economic downturn have decided that one of those institutions is the best place to stash their money for now. Protesters at an Occupy Oakland meeting Monday voted to deposit a $20,000 donation into a Wells Fargo account. The move comes just days after one of Wells Fargos branches was vandalized during a massive downtown demonstration. An Occupy statement said the money only will be with Wells Fargo temporarily while they work to establish an account with a credit union or community bank. Protesters said it was the easiest way to access the money to bail out people from jail. Wells ...

Christina Romer is the most dangerous woman in America right now. As an economics professor at the University of Berkeley, shes charged with educating the next generation of productive citizens. She also formerly chaired the Council of Economic Advisors under President Obama. One would think that a person with that level of influence would have a bit of sense. One would think. Yet Romer rarely fails to disappoint. In a recent New York Times editorial entitled, Dear Ben: Its Time for Your Volcker Moment, Romer publicly tries to goad Ben Bernanke into doing MORE to fight the great contraction. Its not enough that Mr. Bernanke has expanded the money supply by ...

Obama faces choice on Keystone pipeline: Big Labor or Big Green President Obama lamented recently that Americans have "lost our ambition, our -- our imagination, and -- and -- our willingness to do the things that built the Golden Gate Bridge." There are at least two facts that must be pointed out here. First, the Golden Gate Bridge was built by private enterprise, not government. If anything, government was the biggest obstacle to the bridge, thanks to opposition from the Department of Defense and the mistaken opinion of a San Francisco city engineer that the ground under the bay to be spanned would never support such a structure. It's also worth noting here that Bank of ...

I wrote that the Occupy Wall Street organization looked like a child from a marriage between Animal Farm and Animal House. In an insider account written by an Occupier alarmed at the hijacking of the movement and its funding from the OWS General Assembly, its clear that the analogy didnt go quite far enough. Its Animal Farm meets Animal House, all right, but with Niedermeyer running the Deltas. Its impossible to do this justice through excerpts, so be sure to read it all. However, a couple of points stand out (via Instapundit): On Sunday, October 23, a meeting was held at 60 Wall Street. Six leaders discussed what to do with the ...

***Updated 11/5/2011 Today we hit incident 151. One of the secret weapons the corrupt mainstream media uses in their never-ending quest to Palace Guard for the left is context. For example, when it came to the Tea Party, the MSM was notorious for amplifying a single incident (that was usually a lie) and using it to attempt to smear and define an entire movement. This is what you do when you want to quickly take out a political enemy. The MSMs contextual game changes, however, when their desire is to strengthen a movement and give it credibility and room to grow. By dutifully reporting individual incidents but not reporting on the growing scope and size of Occupy Wall Street ...
