The Truly Scary Clowns Are Central Bankers

Central bank’s stimulative policies are having little effect in boosting economies and are losing steam. It’s a plague that besets our nation, threatening our peace, the safety of our children, indeed our well-being. I speak, of course, of clowns. Creepy clowns, lurking in plain sight. Not some ghastly figure with Oompa Loompa orange skin and a petrified crown of yellow hair, or a seemingly staid matron with a horrifyingly cringe-inducing cackle when amused. No, these are circus-like clowns with painted-on grins, albeit incongruently fearsome ones. They’re popping up everywhere, causing panic among the populace and grim warnings from the authorities in what purports to be ...

Working class white men make less than they did in 1996

No wonder they are frustrated. Working class white men saw their income drop 9% between 1996 and 2014, according to a new report from Sentier Research. This group, who Sentier defines as having only a high school diploma, earned only $36,787, on average, in 2014, down from $40,362 in 1996. Meanwhile, college educated white men saw their income soar nearly 23% over the same period, from $77,209 to $94,601. Published by two former Census Bureau officials, the Sentier report shines yet another light on the fortunes of the white working class. This group has become a force in the 2016 presidential election, serving as the backbone of Donald Trump's support. And the Republican ...

October Surprise Coming-Gerald Celente By Greg Hunter On October 2, 2016 In Political Analysis 29 Comments (Early Sunday Release) Trends researcher Gerald Celente sees an “October surprise” coming for the economy, terror or war. Celente contends, “Even that sellout, Mario Draghi (Head of the European Central Bank-ECB) the former head of the Goldman Sachs European division, now playing the ECB President, came out and said the central banks can’t do anymore, and they are looking now for government stimulus. That’s going to be the new game. What I am saying is it’s collapsing. Look what happened in Japan a week and a half ago. Everybody was waiting for the bank ...

Wall Street: The Trump-China missing link By Pepe Escobar September 30, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - "RT" - The yuan is about to enter the IMF’s basket of reserve currencies this coming Saturday - alongside the US dollar, pound, euro and yen. This is no less than a geoeconomic earthquake. Not only does this represent yet another step in China’s irresistible path towards economic primacy; the Chinese currency’s inclusion in the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket will also lead central banks and hyper-wealthy funds – especially from the US – to increasingly buy more Chinese assets. At the first US presidential debate, Donald Trump took no ...

Donald Trump’s Latest Conspiracy Theory Should Scare Investors

It seems that the Republican presidential nominee wants to control Fed policy. If you stepped away from the television to grab a beer during last night’s debate, or to hide under the covers, you may have missed one of Donald Trump’s favorite untruths about the Federal Reserve. In the middle of answering a question about tax policies, Trump said the stock market was currently in a bubble. The cause of this bubble? According to the Republican presidential nominee, it was the Federal Reserve’s decision, over the course of almost a decade, to keep short-term interest rates at record low levels. Fed officials have argued that their decision to hold rates near zero in the aftermath ...

Suddenly, the banks all agree: monetarism doesn't work and governments need to ramp up spending

Something unusual happened over the summer. Deutsche Bank, Barclays, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Merrill Lynch all published notes to investors that said something similar: Central bank monetary policy isn't working anymore and now is the time for governments to turn on their money spigots, running deficits if need be.  It is the opposite of what we are used to hearing from bank analysts. These people are, after all, bankers. They are supposed to be apostles of Milton Friedman, the fighter pilots of capitalism. In the traditional banker view, governments only get in the way, budgets are for balancing, and spending is for cutting. But the 2008 ...

U.S. Jobs Rebound Isn't Helping the Missing Men

The unemployment numbers for August released last week showed that teenagers, a demographic group that has been dormant in the labor force in recent years, have experienced significant progress. The improvement, however, is further evidence that urgent attention must be paid to another group, the so-called missing men, the 7 million males age 24 to 54 who have disappeared from the workforce. There are two reasons that tracking the teen unemployment rate is so valuable. First, these workers don't have the structural or displacement concerns that their older counterparts sometimes have. There are no teen workers with mortgages on underwater houses, or whose jobs have been outsourced or ...

Employers Say They Can’t Find Good Workers, But the Fix is Simple

It may be hard to believe for people in certain areas, but America is still brimming with opportunity. Though the economy is still shaky, and we’re likely due for some recessionary rumblings in the near future, we’re sitting near full-employment and most people who want jobs are able to find them. Still, many parts of the country are suffering from the results of globalization. Employers have sent jobs to other parts of the world or axed them completely, in some cases. Yet, there are still millions and millions of job openings out there. And incredibly enough, there are many employers who are complaining that they can’t find anyone to come work for them — or at least ...

Which Items Will Disappear First During A Major National Emergency? By Michael Snyder, on August 17th, 2016 One day in the not too distant future, a major emergency will strike this nation, and that will set off a round of hoarding unlike anything we have ever seen before. Just think about what happens when a big winter storm or a hurricane is about to hit one of our major cities – inevitably store shelves are stripped bare of bread, milk, snow shovels, etc. Even though winter storms and hurricanes are just temporary hurdles to overcome, they still cause many people to go into panic mode. So what is going to happen when we have a real crisis on our hands? We can get some clues about ...

Bye Bye Middle Class: The Rate Of Homeownership In The United States Has Hit The Lowest Level Ever

Bye Bye Middle Class: The Rate Of Homeownership In The United States Has Hit The Lowest Level Ever By Michael Snyder, on July 28th, 2016 The percentage of Americans that own a home has fallen to the lowest level ever recorded. During the second quarter of 2016, the non-seasonally adjusted homeownership rate fell to just 62.9 percent, which was exactly where it was at when the U.S. Census began publishing this measurement back in 1965. This is not what a “recovery” looks like. All throughout the Obama years, the percentage of Americans that own a home has gotten smaller and smaller and smaller. The reason for this, of course, is that the middle class in America is dying. Last ...

America Needs a Good, Old-Fashioned Economic Depression By Jay Zawatsky The National Interest July 25, 2016 Describing what he called the “crack-up boom”, Ludwig von Mises, the great Austrian economist, said: The boom cannot continue indefinitely. There are two alternatives. Either the banks continue the credit expansion without restriction and thus cause constantly mounting price increases and an ever-growing orgy of speculation – which, as in all other cases of unlimited inflation, ends in a “crack-up boom” and in a collapse of the money and credit system. Or the banks stop before this point is reached, voluntarily renounce further credit expansion, and thus ...

All while supporting anywhere from two to four children. The chairman of ARG, Mr. Britt Beemer, said in an interview with the NY Post that he first started looking into data when he was tracking a different indicator. Beemer first started tracking a group and surveying roughly 15,000 people to determine who had not finished ...

Worst Jobs Report In Nearly 6 Years – 102 Million Working Age Americans Do Not Have Jobs By Michael Snyder, on June 3rd, 2016 This is exactly what we have been expecting to happen. On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the U.S. economy only added 38,000 jobs in May. This was way below the 158,000 jobs that analysts were projecting, and it is also way below what is needed just to keep up with population growth. In addition, the number of jobs created in April was revised down by 37,000 and the number of jobs created in March was revised down by 22,000. This was the worst jobs report in almost six years, and the consensus on Wall Street is that it was an unmitigated ...

Alan Greenspan Warns That Venezuelan Style Martial Law Will Soon Come To The US Posted on May 31, 2016 by Jeff Berwick It seems barely a day passes now without some big name person warning of imminent collapse. The latest is Alan Greenspan. In an interview on Thursday he told Fox News that Venezuela is now under martial law and that “America is next.” He said that what was happening in Venezuela was inevitably going to take place in the US. I agree with this. In fact, we said this exact thing just last week with our article, “Venezuela Descends Into Chaos… Europe and US Next.” Funny enough, a few brainwashed sheeple said we were crazy for saying it. During the Great Recession, many Americans lost their homes due to foreclosure. In fact, according to real estate data company RealtyTrac, there were 6,324,545 completed foreclosures from January 2006 to April 2016. "It is a big number," Daren Blomquist, Senior Vice President of RealtyTrac said in an email. "Normal would be around 250,000 bank repossessions per year. These last 10 years represented the biggest loss of home ownership and shifting of real estate wealth since the Great Depression." The Current Status of the Housing Market The market has improved, but that doesn't make it immune to foreclosures. (You can see the 10 states with the biggest foreclosure ...

For instance, if the Yuan is backed by gold, then why would someone accept the Dollar in lieu of the Yuan if the Dollar’s not backed by anything.” The build out of the infrastructure for the world to move completely away from the Dollar is almost complete. Disposable Americans: The Numbers are Growing By Paul Buchheit May 23, 2016 "Information Clearing House" As often noted in the passionate writings of Henry Giroux, poor Americans are becoming increasingly 'disposable' in our winner-take-all society. After 35 years of wealth distribution to the super-rich, inequality has forced much of the middle class towards the bottom, to near-poverty levels, and to a state of helplessness in which they find themselves being blamed for their own misfortunes. The evidence keeps accumulating: income and wealth -- and health -- are declining for middle-class America. As wealth at the top grows, the super-rich feel they have little need ...
