Almost 70 percent of Americans don't believe that biological men should be allowed to compete in women's sports, indicating that current laws that restrict participation for transgender athletes are generally in line with U.S. public opinion, according to a Gallup poll. The polling showed an increase from 62 percent in 2021 to 69 percent of Americans in 2023 who believe athletes should only play on teams that match their birth gender, according to a survey conducted by Gallup. In tandem, in 2021, 34 percent of Americans said transgender athletes should be allowed to play on teams that match their current gender identity, while in 2023, only 26 percent held that belief. Florida State President Richard McCullough told his board of trustees during a meeting Wednesday that the university would have to "very seriously" consider leaving the ACC unless there is a radical change to the conference's revenue distribution model. McCullough addressed the board to give an update on where Florida State stands after a year spent exploring options about what the future holds in the wake of conference realignment and big money television contracts in the Big Ten and SEC. The moves are in line to put ACC schools $30 million behind per year from a TV revenue distribution standpoint. Click for Full Text!

The Oakland Athletics Just Showed Why They Don't Need Taxpayers To Buy Their New Stadium

As the Nevada Legislature was considering a bill earlier this week that would give the Oakland Athletics about $600 million in public money for a new stadium in Las Vegas, the team inadvertently made a pretty good argument for why it doesn't need the handout. Here's what happened: On Tuesday, Athletics fans in Oakland staged a "reverse boycott" in an attempt to demonstrate that the team—which has for years lagged near the bottom of the MLB in terms of attendance—actually could put butts in the seats if the on-field product was any good. The Athletics have one of the worst records in the majors this year and have posted an average attendance of about 9,000 per ...

A coalition of families and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks said Tuesday it was “shocked” and “deeply offended” over the PGA Tour’s stunning merger with the Saudi Arabia-backed Private Investment Fund to create a new commercial venture to unify all the global professional golf tours, including LIV Golf and the European tour. 9/11 Families United has long alleged the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia funded and supported al-Qaeda as it prepared for the terrorist attacks. Vegas Ballpark Pitch Revives Public Funding Debate

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo wants to help build Major League Baseball's smallest ballpark — arguing that the worst team in baseball can boost Las Vegas, a city striving to call itself a sports mecca. Nationwide debate about public funding for private sports clubs has been revived with the Oakland Athletics ballpark proposal. The issue pits Nevada's powerful tourism industry, including trade unions, against a growing chorus of mostly progressive groups that, throughout the country, are raising concerns about use of tax dollars to finance sports stadiums but could otherwise fund government services or schools. USA Today: Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports Is a Bigoted “Sham”
Post Date: 2023-06-02 00:00:56 by Charles_Byrd

USA Today, some may say, is so yesterday. This may be especially true now that the paper has published an op-ed in which it states that opposition to having men in women’s sports is a sham driven by “bigotry … hate, fear and ignorance” — and that we should focus on yesterday’s feminists’ agenda. “Don’t be fooled by the people who screech about ‘fairness,’” screeches USA Today writer Nancy Armour, who donned her literary armour (a nod to British spelling) and unsheathed her not-quite-mightier-than-the-sword pen after ESPN’s Samantha Ponder gave her something to ponder and piqued her puerile passions. NPR Fumbles “Limited Evidence of ‘Trans-male’ Advantage” Story

It’s said that love is blind. So perhaps National Public Radio’s (NPR) love affair with the “transgender” agenda explains why, in its name, the station has cast principle and diligence to the winds. First there was the recent NPR puff piece on MUSS (Made-up Sexual Status, aka “transgender”) firearms owners in which the outlet, departing from its gun-control dogma, kindly called the packin’-heat sexual devolutionaries the “gun curious.” Now NPR has been embarrassed because, in its zeal to support the cause of MUSS men in women’s sports, it claimed there was “limited scientific evidence” that such males have a “physical ...

Trans in women's sports: Is it inclusiveness, or insanity?

There is a national debate regarding males who now identify as a female, who wish to participate in women's sporting events under the guise of inclusiveness. Let us take a look at the normal policies of all sport governing bodies to see if this position holds water, or if it's the equivalence of condoning Performance Enhancing Drug (PED) use. PED use by athletes is well-established to be excluded from all athletic competitions because they provide an unfair advantage for those who use them. The significant changes in muscle size, strength, speed, oxygen- carrying capacity, etc. provide a significant performance advantage in any given sporting event, and those who have been ...

Reality Breaks Through As Female-to-Male Trans Swimmer Starts Competing on Men’s Team

Lia Thomas did it, so why can’t Iszac Henig? Lia is the University of Pennsylvania swimmer who performed indifferently on the men’s team and then proclaimed that he was a woman. Competing on the women’s team, lo and behold, suddenly he became a championship swimmer, breaking records left and right and winning an NCAA swimming championship. It was the strength he got from being transgender and enduring bigotry and hate, right? So we should expect that Iszac Henig, who used to be a female swimmer and now says she is a male, would perform at the same stellar level, right? Well, it didn’t quite turn out that way. It turns out that in the cases of both Thomas and Henig, ...
