Obamacare's lead agency chief announces her resignation WASHINGTON Fri Jan 16, 2015 1:49pm EST (Reuters) - The Obama administration official who oversaw the botched rollout of the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov, announced on Friday she will resign as head of the agency that also manages the Medicare and Medicaid healthcare programs. "It is with sadness and mixed emotions that I write to tell you that February will be my last month," Marilyn Tavenner, administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), said in an email to staff. She gave no reason in the email for her departure. A former nurse and hospital chain executive, Tavenner, 63, joined CMS ...

An eastern Iowa man who was convicted late last year of growing marijuana that he used to treat his rare form of cancer has died. Benton Mackenzie, 49, died Monday at his home in Long Grove, near Davenport, his mother Dottie Mackenzie confirmed Tuesday. He had been growing marijuana to create cannabis oil that he consumed and applied to tumors caused by his angiosarcoma, a rare cancer of the blood vessels that he was diagnosed with seven years ago. Mackenzie said his self-treatment from the oil had prolonged his life and made some of the skin lesions disappear. Little research has been conducted on the effect of cannabis oil on this form of cancer, though doctors don't discredit ...

Thomas Nelson | HigherPerspective Shawn Thornton developed pineal gland cancer while he was attending art school. (Dont be sad, he got better.) While he had cancer, he created a series of paintings that will just take your breath away. As his cancer progressed, his art became more and more complex and beautiful. Some people believe that the pineal gland is the seat of consciousness and is tied to mysticism, spirituality and DMT. Some say Thorntons paintings look a bit like DMT trips. Check out some of his work below! You can see the full set of his paintings here. Trust me, theyre worth a look.
The original Marlboro Man has died Post Date: 2015-01-15 07:16:19 by Willie Green

(Riverton, Wyo.) A Riverton rancher who became the iconic image of the rugged American Cowboy has died at the age of 85. Darrell Winfield was the original Marlboro Man and his image was used in marketing campaigns around the world. Winfield was declared dead Monday at SageWest-Riverton after a lengthy illness. He had been in hospice care at his home. Winfields image of a hard working real cowboy was burned into the national memory on billboards, signs, advertisements, and promotional materials from Times Square in New York City to Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood and across the world. He served as the Marlboro Man from 1968 to 1989. Winfield was first spotted by a marketing ...
Top Doctor Exposes Monsanto As The Cause Of A Huge Autism Spike Post Date: 2015-01-13 21:37:26 by Deckard

Glyphosate found to be directly responsible for the terrifying rise in autism, food allergies, breast cancer, liver and kidney damage and more > MIT Doctor Stephanie Seneff, one of Americas top scientists, has exposed a direct correlation between Monsanto, autism, and many other relatively new health conditions, such as gluten intolerance. In 1970, autism was extremely rare: just one child in every 10,000 had the condition under normal environmental circumstances. Last year this had risen to an estimated 1 in 68, which is a sharp rise that needs to be accounted for. Seneff looked at autism rates in the first grade of the school system and found a direct correlation ...
The Liberal Health Care Dream BLOWS Up! Post Date: 2014-12-29 17:41:32 by CZ82

The Liberal Health Care Dream BLOWS Up! By Onan Coca, 29 December 2014 Senator Ron Johnson has published an excellent post-mortem on the failed experiment that was socialized health care. Over at his personal Senate blog, Senator Johnson strips down the Obamacare law and shows how it has failed in every respect. You can find Senator Johnsons full examination of Obamacare here: Vermont is a model for America on health care, the Wall Street Journal sensibly pointed out earlier this week. Thats because Vermont is where the purest progressive version of ObamaCare has imploded. Vermonts Democrat Governor Peter Shumlin (at right) ran for election in 2010 ...
MSNBC Reporter: Gruber Comments Confirm ‘All The Worst Suspicions Republicans Had’ About Obamacare [VIDEO] Post Date: 2014-11-17 20:42:36 by out damned spot

The panel of MSNBCs The Cycle agreed that the recent flurries of insulting and impolitic videos of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber was horrible press for the law, with MSNBC reporter Alex Seitz-Wald saying it confirmed all the worst suspicions that Republicans had about Obamacare. HOST TOURÉ: I think that Grubergate is probably the dumbest self-inflicted wound to happen to Obamacare since the rollout of Obamacare. He calls voters dumb, and he contributes to this notion they had to be secretive in order to get this thing passed. Does this become a lasting stain on the way that people perceive this whole law, do you think? SEITZ-WALD: Well, ...

Congressional Republicans seized Wednesday on controversial comments made by a former health-care consultant to the Obama administration, with one leading House conservative suggesting that hearings could be called in response as part of the GOP effort to dismantle the law in the next Congress and turn public opinion ahead of the 2016 election. "We may want to have hearings on this," said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), an influential voice among GOP hardliners and a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, in an interview at the Capitol. "We shouldn't be surprised they were misleading us." The firestorm began when a video emerged showing Jonathan ...

On Saturday, Newsbusters was the first major website to feature a video posted to YouTube by AmericanCommitment of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber boasting in 2013 how he helped deceive the public via a lack of transparency about that bill. Some readers were anxious about that video being made better known to the public since at the time the article was published, there were only a couple of dozen views of the video on YouTube. Well they needn't have worried because since then the video has gone over the top viral to the extent that Rush Limbaugh led his show talking about it at length this morning as did Sean Hannity on his radio show. In addition, the video made it into the ...

While conducting a separate experiment, a group of scientists from Johns Hopkins and the University of Nebraska accidentally discovered something unexpected and potentially disturbing. A virus was living in the mouths and throats of a good portion of the people in the study, a virus that the researchers didn't think was capable of infecting humans. Worse still, it seemed to be slowing some of the subjects' mental abilities, especially their ability to process visual information. The surprising part about this for researchers was that a microscopic organism that we thought could infect only algae plants was living in about 40% of the small number of people tested. ...

HOUSTON, Texas -- Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert vocalized his disbelief and disgust at the Obama Administration's push to treat non-U.S. citizens with Ebola in the United States. The document stated that planning to treat Ebola-infected foreigners is ...

(CNSNews.com) - On Saturday--one day after a bus that had departed from the Pentagon was quarantined on Capitol Hill in an Ebola false alarm--President Barack Obama issued a video message to Americans telling them that "you cannot get it [Ebola] from just riding on a plane or a bus." Ebola is actually a difficult disease to catch. It's not transmitted through the air like the flu," Obama said in his weekly video message. "You cannot get it from just riding on a plane or a bus." But on Friday, a bus was quarantined on Virginia Avenue, SE, in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, D.C.--in what turned out to be an Ebola false alarm. The bus was carrying a ...

We have technology to potentially control Ebola and other viral outbreaks today. But the federal bureaucracy refuses to catch up with 21st-century science. For example, diagnostic startup Nanobiosym has an iPhone-sized device that can accurately detect Ebola and other infectious diseases in less than an hour. Two other companies, Synthetic Genomics and Novartis, have the capacity to create synthetic vaccine viruses for influenza and other infectious diseases in only four days. Both firms can also share data about outbreaks instantaneously and make real-time, geographically specific diagnosis and vaccine production possible. These companies could start producing Ebola vaccine/treatments ...

It is clear that this is no longer an outbreak of Ebola, it's a breakout of Ebola. We are now living in a post-containment world. Fortunately, this virus has vulnerabilities, and we can quickly improve our immune defense. When the protective suits and procedures fail to keep Ebola at arm's length, it becomes a fight between the organism and the defense. As there is no vaccine and there are no Ebola-specific drugs, it's time to help Americans understand what can be done. We have two types of immune defense: adaptive defense, which allows us to utilize preformed antibodies and anti-viral killer cells, and innate defense, which allows us to fight a microorganism we have never ...

As CDC resources have been stretched in dealing with the Ebola crisis, a lesser-known virus has become widespread in the U.S. and is now linked to a seventh death. The latest CDC update on the current outbreak of the polio-like Enterovirus D-68 states that it has now been detected in specimens from seven patients who died and had samples submitted for testing. Unlike Ebola, CDC is not publicly addressing the spread of EV-D68 in television interview or telephone briefings. According to the latest update from CDC, at least 796 people in 46 states have been sickened with the respiratory illness that can cause paralysis from mid-August through October 16. The outbreak is likely ...

Likewise, Nigeria is expected to have passed through the requisite 42 days, with active surveillance for new cases in place and none detected, on Monday 20 October. For Nigeria, WHO confirms that tracing of people known to have contact with an Ebola patient reached 100% in Lagos and 98% in Port Harcourt. In a piece of world-class epidemiological detective work, all confirmed cases in Nigeria were eventually linked back to the ...

The director of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) refused to definitively answer whether someone who does not have a fever can still transmit Ebola. On Thursday, Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA), the Chair of the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, asked if Ebola can be "transmitted from a person who does not yet have a high fever." Murphy noted that the CDC and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have claimed that "Ebola patients are only contagious when they have a fever," but "the largest study of the current ebola outbreak found 13% of confirmed cases in West Africa did not have an associated fever." He also said that travelers can even ...

Salons Joan Walsh: No Accident Ebola Victim Was In Rick Perrys Texas (Daily Caller) - Apparently, the NRA isnt the only one to blame for the Ebola crisis. Salon editor and professional troll Joan Walsh wonders if Republican Texas Governor Rick Perry doesnt share some of the blame, at least when it comes to the death of victim Thomas Eric Duncan. Its probably no accident, either, that it happened in Rick Perrys Texas. More than 1.5 million Texans, with a median income of $833, are going uninsured because Perry rejected Medicaid funding. Medicaid wouldnt have helped Duncan, but it might help someone exposed to him. Right now ...
