Planned Parenthood CEO’s Mammogram Claims Are False by Lila Rose In the wake of undercover evidence revealing Planned Parenthood’s abusive and illegal activity, the America’s biggest abortion business unrolled a massive PR campaign to defend its $363-million-a-year taxpayer subsidies. The campaign included TV, print, radio and online ad buys, a big pink bus rolling across the country, and numerous appearances and opinion pieces by Planned Parenthood spokespersons and supporters (including this gem by PP vice-president of communications Stuart Schear. Planned Parenthood has been insisting that they provide invaluable health services to “millions” of America women. ...

AARP’s Billion Dollar ObamaCare Windfall

Ever since the passage of ObamaCare, I’ve been perplexed by a lingering question: Why did AARP so aggressively lobby for passage of the law? After all, the plan was built on $500 billion in cuts to Medicare. Even in Washington, half a trillion dollars is still a ton of money. Medicare is sacrosanct among America’s senior citizens. It was unfathomable to me that the nation’s largest membership association of seniors would, not just not oppose the cuts, but would actively lobby for them. It didn’t make any sense. Mostly, I just chalked up AARP’s actions to its general leftist, partisan leanings. Medicare cuts by Republicans are bad, but cuts by Democrats to increase ...

GOP sets sights on AARP over its support for healthcare reform By Julian Pecquet - 03/25/11 01:04 PM ET Newly empowered House Republicans are getting ready to renew their attacks against AARP over its support for the healthcare reform law, The Hill has learned. The Ways and Means health and oversight subcommittees are hauling in the seniors lobby's executives before the panel for an April 1 hearing on how the group stands to benefit from the law, among other topics. Republicans say AARP supported the law's $200 billion in cuts to the Medicare Advantage program because it stands to gain financially as seniors replace their MA plans with Medicare supplemental insurance — or ...

I have quite a few and would be open to posting them on here if you want. Most I have tried and would endorse, some I haven't but the ingredients look good.

Frankfurt, Germany, December 6 -- A rather bizarre study carried out by German researchers suggests that staring at women's breasts is good for men's health and increases their life expectancy. According to Dr. Karen Weatherby, a gerontologist and author of the study, gawking at women’s breasts is a healthy practice, almost at par with an intense exercise regime, that prolongs the lifespan of a man by five years. She added, "Just 10 minutes of staring at the charms of a well-endowed female, is roughly equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out." A five-year research on 500 men Researchers at three hospitals in Frankfurt, Germany did an in-depth analysis of 200 ...

Horrific US Medical Experiments Come to Light

ATLANTA -- Shocking as it may seem, U.S. government doctors once thought it was fine to experiment on disabled people and prison inmates. Such experiments included giving hepatitis to mental patients in Connecticut, squirting a pandemic flu virus up the noses of prisoners in Maryland, and injecting cancer cells into chronically ill people at a New York hospital. Much of this horrific history is 40 to 80 years old, but it is the backdrop for a meeting in Washington this week by a presidential bioethics commission. The meeting was triggered by the government's apology last fall for federal doctors infecting prisoners and mental patients in Guatemala with syphilis 65 years ago. U.S. ...

(02-05) 08:52 PST New Orleans (AP) -- Sales of Gulf of Mexico seafood are getting a boost from the military after being hammered by last year's BP oil spill, which left consumers fearing the water's bounty had been tainted. Ten products including fish, shrimp, oysters, crab cakes, and packaged Cajun dishes such as jambalaya and shrimp etouffee are being promoted at 72 base commissaries along the East Coast, said Milt Ackerman, president of Military Solutions Inc., which is supplying seafood to the businesses. Gulf seafood sales fell sharply after BP PLC's Gulf well blew out in April, spewing millions of gallons of oil into the sea. Consumers have long feared that fish, ...

Cancer Patient's Life Now Hangs In Balance As He Awaits Stem Cell Replacement THORNTON, Colo. -- Two pennies. That's the difference between a potentially life-saving surgery and a dropped insurance plan. Those 2 cents could cost Vietnam veteran Ronald Flanagan everything. "Everybody we talk to is very surprised that 2 cents is enough to do this," said Flanagan. It was an innocent enough mistake, according to Ronald's wife, Frances Flanagan. "If I only had just hit the nine instead of the seven," Frances said. When she was paying their monthly health insurance premium online in November, Frances swapped a 7 for a 9, leaving their $328.69 payment 2 cents ...

Life expectancy in U.S. is slowing compared with other countries By Shari Roan, Los Angeles Times January 25, 2011, 9:57 a.m. Life expectancy has risen in the United States over the last 25 years, but it's not rising as fast as it once was. And, compared with other developed nations, U.S. life expectancy doesn't measure up. In a report released Tuesday by the National Research Council, experts describe U.S. life expectancy as a "poor performance" compared with many other countries given the fact that the U.S. spends far more on healthcare than any other nation. For U.S. males, life expectancy at birth increased by 5.5 years from 1980 to 2006. That's good, but it ...

Company to stop making drug commonly used in executions By Rob Stein Washington Post Staff Writer Saturday, January 22, 2011; 12:00 AM The U.S. company that makes a drug most states use in lethal injection announced Friday that it would no longer produce the powerful anesthetic, a decision that throws capital punishment in the United States into disarray. The decision by Hospira of Lake Forest., Ill., was prompted by demands from Italy, which does not have capital punishment, that no sodium thiopental - which the company had planned to make at its plant outside Milan - be used for executions, officials said. "We determined we could not prevent the drug from being diverted for use ...

Fortune magazine on Tuesday cited former Apple director Jerry York, who died in March last year, as saying Jobs received radiotherapy to treat neuroendocrine cancer at the University Hospital of Basel during his second medical leave in 2009. At the time, a special form of hormone-delivered radiotherapy developed by the hospital was not available in the U.S., Fortune said. Jobs also had a liver transplant at Methodist University Hospital in ...

Watch Tea Party Favorite GOP Prez Hopeful Herman Cain Battle Bill Clinton on Health Care

In my short profile of Herman Cain, the Tea Party favorite and GOP presidential hopeful, I mentioned his auspicious debut on the national political stage. It came in 1994, when Cain was CEO of Godfather's Pizza and challenged Bill Clinton at a nationally televised town hall meeting supposed to shore up support for Clinton's flagging health care plan. (It didn't.) As I say in the piece, this strikes me as an enormously valuable thing for someone seeking GOP support in 2011, since health care will be a central issue in the Republican primaries. Today, every Republican is critical of the Democratic health care plan. But Cain was fighting the Democratic health care plan 17 years ...

Swine Flu Offers 'Extraordinary Super Immunity'

People who recover from swine flu may be left with an extraordinary natural ability to fight off flu viruses, findings suggests. In beating a bout of H1N1 the body makes antibodies that can kill many other flu strains, a study in the Journal of Experimental Medicine shows. Doctors hope to harness this power to make a universal flu vaccine that would protect against any type of influenza. Ultimately this could replace the "best guess" flu vaccines currently used. Such a vaccine is the "holy grail" for flu researchers. Many scientists are already testing different prototypes to put an end to the yearly race to predict coming flu strains and quickly mass produce a new ...

PHOENIX — A second person denied transplant coverage by Arizona under a state budget cut has died, with this death "most likely" resulting from the coverage reduction, a hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday. University Medical Center spokeswoman Jo Marie Gellerman said the patient died Dec. 28 at another medical facility after earlier being removed from UMC's list for a liver transplant needed because of hepatitis C. Gellerman cited medical privacy requirements in declining to release any information about the patient. Arizona reduced Medicaid coverage for transplants on Oct. 1 under cuts included to help close a shortfall in the state budget enacted last spring. ...
