What You Need to Know About Vaccinations: Are They Bad, Good, or is there a Middle Ground? By Dr. Rajesh Vishwanathan on September 17, 2007in DISEASE, Vaccines The vaccination controversy is very sticky. But consider these facts dispassionately. It is a well-known fact that ever since mass vaccinations of infants began, there have been endless reports of serious brain, cardiovascular, metabolic disease like diabetes. In fact, the pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine has been used to induce encephalomyelitis, which is characterized by brain swelling and hemorrhage in the brain. Indiscriminate vacation has also been incriminated in the increase incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) ...

Will the Supreme Court Let the Death Panel Stand? By David Catron on 4.16.12 @ 6:09AM Unless Obamacare is struck down in its entirety, IPAB will remain. With the possible exception of the individual mandate, the most pernicious contrivance of Obamacare is the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), the fifteen-member committee whose purpose is to ration health care to seniors by manipulating Medicare payment rates. Before the advent of Obamacare, only Congress had the power to make changes to Medicare's reimbursement scheme. Now, unless the Supreme Court strikes down the "reform" law in its entirety, that power will be transferred to the unaccountable political ...

‘Pink Slime’ Furor Means Disaster for U.S. Meat Innovator

Thirty-one years ago, a young man with no college degree and the restless mind of a tinkerer started an unusual meat-processing company. Eldon Roth’s Beef Products Inc. bought tons of fatty scraps left over after cattle were carved into steaks and roasts. Roth concocted a way to use centrifuges to spin the fat away and quick-freeze the remaining meat into a pink pulp that made ground beef leaner when it was mixed in. He called it “lean finely textured beef.” McDonald’s Corp. (MCD), Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Burger King Worldwide Holdings Inc., Kroger Co., and Yum! Brands (YUM) Inc.’s Taco Bell chain used it. Roth opened plants in Texas, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska, ...

Shift workers 'risking' Type 2 diabetes and obesity

Shift workers getting too little sleep at the wrong time of day may be increasing their risk of diabetes and obesity, according to researchers. The team is calling for more measures to reduce the impact of shift working following the results of its study. Researchers controlled the lives of 21 people, including meal and bedtimes. The results, published in Science Translational Medicine, showed changes to normal sleep meant the body struggled to control sugar levels. Some participants even developed early symptoms of diabetes within weeks. Shift work has been associated with a host of health problems. Doctors at Brigham and Women's Hospital, in the US, were trying to study its ...

Individual Mandate: Republicans Were for It Before They Were Against It. In Fact, It Was Their Idea In the Republican presidential debate Tuesday night, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged, apparently in an unguarded moment, that a core element of "ObamaCare," the requirement that all Americans be enrolled in either a private or public health insurance plan, was a proposal originated by the Heritage Foundation, a powerful conservative think tank. Gingrich made the admission as he was denying former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's accusation that the former Republican leader was once a supporter of the mandate. I'm sure the other presidential hopefuls ...

Dick Cheney has just joined a list of high-profile people, including Steve Jobs, Mickey Mantle, Evil Knievel and David Crosby who, received a transplant and thereby created a controversy. Cheney received a heart on Friday from an anonymous donor at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia after a 20-month wait. What is controversial about that? Cheney is 71 years old. He has been through numerous previous operations that indicate he has other serious medical problems. He has only been able to survive due to the implantation of a left-ventricular assist device (LVAD) — a partial artificial heart -- that has kept him going long past the point where his own heart could have kept him alive. ...

CBO Analysis: 2014 is When the Real Obamacare Excrement Will Hit the Fan March 14, 2012 The Congressional Budget Office says that Obamacare is gonna cost twice what he told us. The magic number for Obamacare was a trillion dollars. They had to keep that number under a trillion dollars in order to get it passed. I'm not gonna revisit why and I'm not gonna go back through all the details and the minutia and the arm twisting and the games they were playing to get Obamacare passed because they eventually got it passed. They tried toying around with the idea "deeming" it to have been passed, not even voting on it, a number of things. But it eventually got passed. One of the ...

What You Lose When You Sign That Donor Card Giving away your organs sounds noble, but have doctors blurred the line between life and death?. By DICK TERESI Doctors don't have to tell you or your relatives what they will do to your body during an organ harvest operation because you'll be dead, with no legal rights. . The last time I renewed my driver's license, the clerk at the DMV asked if she should check me off as an organ donor. I said no. She looked at me and asked again. I said, "No. Just check the box that says, 'I am a heartless, selfish bastard.'" Becoming an organ donor seems like a win-win situation. Some 3.3 people on the transplant waiting ...

That would make the total cost for birth control pills for a student who decided to use them for all ...

As Obama pushes new regulations, UK eyes privatizing its health care By Gene J. Koprowski Filmmaker Michael Moore glorified the United Kingdom’s National Health Service in his 2007 documentary ”Sicko,” making a cult film argument that socialized medicine works. But Prime Minister David Cameron, the Tory MP who heads a coalition government in England, is apparently not a Moore fan: He is working to partially privatize the NHS, beginning a massive outsourcing of medical services to private health care providers throughout the U.K. Britain’s media, in particular the Washington Post–Huffington Post hybrid The Guardian, is publishing near-panic-attacks alerts daily ...

Several other brands, including Cover Girl and Nars had products hovering in the 4-to-5-parts-per-million range. (The average lead concentration found across the 400 ...

Health Premiums to Skyrocket Says Architect of Obamacare Jonathan Gruber is an economist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also has the distinction of being one of the principle architects of both Romneycare and Obamacare. In 2010, Gruber provided an analysis of Obamacare for the White House. In September 2010, Obama announced to the nation, “As a consequence of the Affordable Care Act, premiums are going to be lower than they would be otherwise; health care costs overall are going to be lower than they would be otherwise.” Now in a recent interview, Gruber said that he is backtracking on that analysis. Based upon a more recent analysis conducted in 2011, he ...

19 Facts About Abortion In America That Should Make You Very Sick

Every single day, a silent horror kills more Americans than were killed on 9/11. Every single year, this silent horror kills about as many Americans as have been killed on all the battlefields in all of the wars in U.S. history combined. This silent horror is called abortion, and it is a national disgrace. Overall, more than 50 million babies have been slaughtered since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. We have become a nation with so little regard for human life that nobody even really talks that much about this issue anymore. But the truth is that it is at the very core of what is wrong with America. As I have written about previously, we have become a nation that is obsessed with ...

The pressure of the Obama White House is plainly evident on the faces of citizens across the country. WASHINGTON—Recent side-by-side photographic comparisons of Americans before and after he assumed the presidency have confirmed the stress of Barack Obama's time in the White House has taken a significant toll on the U.S. populace, dramatically accelerating the nation's signs of aging. "It's striking, really, to see how, after just three years of being president, Barack Obama has markedly aged the country," Beltway observer Andrew Soisson said Wednesday, adding that the stress of watching Obama deal with a stagnant economy, multiple wars, and other crises at ...
