The White House to Criminalize Political Speech By Calling Tea Party People Terrorist. They Are Getting Desperate
Post Date: 2011-08-03 18:49:19 by Capitalist Eric

will say good riddance when these criminals in the White House are escorted out in handcuffs and shackles. We can see the people have no confidence in government anymore. The President and the Congressional Leadership are hated. Both Political Parties are hated with a passion now for betraying the people on this debt deal. The courts, we see no remedy to this over reach in government into our lives. No, I see our republic is going into very trying times. The White House wants to silence his opposition, so his agenda can go through without resistance. We now see Vice President Joe Biden calling Tea Party people terrorist because they are a threat to their power who, still stand in their way ...

Meet the Right-Wing Hatemongers Who Inspired the Norway Killer
Post Date: 2011-08-03 17:40:21 by Brian S

Few political terrorists in recent history took as much care to articulate their ideological influences and political views as Anders Behring Breivik did. The right-wing Norwegian Islamophobe who murdered 76 children and adults in Oslo and at a government-run youth camp spent months, if not years, preparing his 1,500 page manifesto.  Besides its length, one of the most remarkable aspects of the manifesto is the extent to which its European author quoted from the writings of figures from the American conservative movement. Though he referred heavily to his fellow Norwegian, the blogger Fjordman, it was Robert Spencer, the American Islamophobic pseudo-academic, who received the most ...

Poll: Muslims, Atheists Most Likely To Reject Violence
Post Date: 2011-08-03 17:09:41 by Brian S

New data from polling firm Gallup shows that out of all the religious groups in the U.S., Muslims are most likely to reject violence, followed by the non-religious atheists and agnostics. Through interviews with 2,482 Americans, Gallup found that 78 percent of Muslims believe violence which kills civilians is never justified, whereas just 38 percent of Protestant Christians and 39 percent of Catholics agreed with that sentiment. Fifty-six percent of atheists answered similarly. When Gallup put the question a bit more pointedly, asking if it would be justified for "an individual person or a small group of persons to target and kill civilians," the responses were a bit more ...

Buchanan: No Slur Intended With Obama 'Boy' Quip
Post Date: 2011-08-03 16:42:14 by Brian S

(08-03) 13:25 PDT New York (AP) -- Pat Buchanan said that he didn't mean to slur President Barack Obama by referring to him as "your boy" during a discussion with Al Sharpton. The former GOP presidential candidate and current MSNBC analyst appeared on "Morning Joe" Wednesday to explain remarks he made on that network's Sharpton show 12 hours earlier. They were discussing Obama's political strength when Buchanan said that "your boy" had caved in past negotiations and was likely to do so in the future. "My what?" Sharpton responded. "My president, Barack Obama? What did you say?" Buchanan, using a boxing analogy, answered that ...

Republican Racism: Working with Obama Like ‘Touching a Tar Baby’
Post Date: 2011-08-01 17:18:48 by Brian S

Rep. Doug Lamborn likened compromising with Obama to "touching a tar baby" on talk radio today. But he probably didn't mean to use the racially charged term in a racist way, right? There's no way he missed the lesson from John McCain's "tar baby" blunder, or Mitt Romney's "tar baby" blunder, or Tony Snow's "tar baby" blunder, right? Given the famed political correctness of Lamborn's district in Colorado Springs—home of sexually repressed meth head pastors and family-focused homophobes—I'm guessing this is all a big misunderstanding. Lamborn probably meant to say was "touching a star, maybe" or ...

Biden: Tea Partiers Like 'Terrorists'

Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit. Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting. “We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.” Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists,” according to several sources in the ...

Joe Walsh: Just Your Average, Regular Deadbeat Dad Kind Of A Guy
Post Date: 2011-08-01 13:10:13 by Brian S

08/01/11 11:14 AM ET Among the Tea Party Republican freshmen from Illinois, 8th district Rep. Joe Walsh, of suburban Chicago, is among the most self-righteous and cantankerous. Bookers for cable shout-shows love him. He’ll be in particular demand today, because he’s poised to vote against yesterday’s debt-ceiling dealing. "This isn't even as strong as the Boehner plan," he complained. It’s useful to remember this morning how Joe Walsh has managed his own finances. A couple of weeks ago, in a videotaped tirade against President Obama and wasteful government spending, he said, among other things: “Quit lying to the American people ... Show some ...

MSNBC Host Bans Tea Party ‘Deadbeat Dad’

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell has banned tea party Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) from ever appearing on his show again. Walsh has refused to vote for raising the nation’s debt ceiling, saying he would not place “one more dollar of debt upon the backs of my kids.” But it turns out that Walsh actually owes more than $100,000 in child support. “It is time to deny deadbeat dad Joe Walsh some advantages,” O’Donnell said Friday. “In order to teach deadbeat dad Joe Walsh a lesson about family values, yes, the very same family values that so many Republicans try to exploit politically while failing to come close to living up to them in their own lives, deadbeat ...

Pat Buchanan, Other Conservatives, Defend Norwegian Terrorist Breivik's Ideas

Some conservatives, in America and abroad, are defending the ideas, if not the actions, of Norwegian terrorist suspect, Anders Behring Breivik. Patrick Buchanan, perennial American conservative commentator, calling the Norway terrorist attacks "a fire bell in the night" for Europe, wrote that while he condemned Breivik as "evil" and "a cold-blooded, calculating killer", he nevertheless acknowledged that Breivik "reveals a knowledge of the history, culture and politics of Europe."Further, Buchanan said that Breivik's critique of multiculturalism was consistent with the views of Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, and David Cameron, all of whom, ...

Rep. Allen West: Tea Party ‘Schizophrenia’ Not Helpful During Debt Ceiling Negotiations
Post Date: 2011-07-29 12:55:34 by Brian S

Congressman Allen West, one of the most vocal tea party supporters in Congress, is insisting that his support of the Boehner debt ceiling bill does not mean he is throwing the tea party under the bus or defecting from them in any way, and said that tea party “schizophrenia” is not conducive to a positive outcome in the ongoing negotiations. West appeared on Laura Ingraham’s radio show, and she started by having him respond to accusations that he was defecting from the tea party on the debt ceiling debate. He argued that so far the Republicans had achieved a victory by successfully getting President Obama and the Democrats to remove tax hikes from the table. We have to ...

Bush Says Slow Reaction On 9/11 Was Deliberate Decision

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former President George W. Bush says his apparent lack of reaction to the first news of the September 11 2001 attacks was a conscious decision to project an aura of calm in a crisis. In a rare interview with the National Geographic Channel, Bush reflects on what was going through his mind at the most dramatic moment of his presidency when he was informed that a second passenger jet had hit New York's World Trade Center. Bush was visiting a Florida classroom and the incident, which was caught on TV film, and has often been used by critics to ridicule his apparently blank face. "My first reaction was anger. Who the hell would do that to America? Then I ...

Former Cheney Aide Addington, Now at Heritage, Driver in Debt Debate ('enforcer of tea party dogma')

With the United States moving closer to a historic debt default, both parties are bringing out the big guns. Democrats have senior administration officials like Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner warning that a failure to strike a deal will push the fragile economy back into recession. Republicans have prominent conservative economists like former Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin arguing that any deal should primarily involve spending cuts. But the debate doesn’t simply involve warring economists. Instead, one of the louder voices belongs to David Addington, the architect of the George W. Bush administration’s harsh interrogation policies and a former chief ...

After Slamming Obama For Being ‘Anti-Manufacturing,’ Gingrich Campaign Caught Selling T-Shirts Made In El Salvador

In the latest embarrassment for Newt Gingrich’s floundering presidential campaign, an ABC producer discovered that Gingrich’s campaign T-shirts are not being made in America, but in El Salvador, even as Gingrich spends his time on the campaign trail calling American manufacturing “crucial” to the economy’s future. Gingich has also slammed the Obama administration for being “anti-manufacturing.” According to the producer, Gingrich had originally said he would make sure his campaign gear was manufactured in America. Gingrich was confronted about the gear on the campaign trail as he awkwardly held up one of the shirts in question: ABC: I just picked up that ...

House Leaders Abruptly Delay Vote On GOP Bill Extending Debt Limit, Cutting Spending

House Republican leaders have abruptly delayed a vote on a bill extending the government's debt limit and cutting federal spending One House aide said the vote would occur later Thursday evening. It was initially unclear why the vote, which had appeared imminent, was postponed. The House was nearing the end of its debate on the legislation when Republicans suddenly shifted gears. They instead moved to a bill renaming a post office in Peoria, Ill. GOP leaders have been laboring to line up the 216 votes the debt bill would need to pass the House, and they have encountered opposition from some conservatives. There are 240 Republicans in the House. Few if any Democrats are expected to ...

Obama To GOP: Don't Steal Christmas

The Obama White House casts House Speaker John Boehner's proposed debt ceiling plan as a Grinch that could steal Christmas. Spokesman Jay Carney and other aides said Boehner's short-term extension of the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling sets up a replay of the ongoing political fight in December, the middle of the holiday shopping season. The Boehner plan would require "all of us to go through this again before the end of the year, in the most important economic season in the country," Carney said. "At a time when people don't want to worry about whether or not their interest rates are going to go up, their mortgage payments and their car payments and their student ...

McCain Uses ‘Lord of the Rings’ To Make Fun Of Tea Party
Post Date: 2011-07-28 13:26:59 by Brian S

Amid a speech on Washington’s self-inflicted debt crisis, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Wednesday that the tea party’s political strategy is essentially bogus and plays into Democrats’ hands, and urged tea party Republicans to support House Speaker John Boehner’s plan to extend the debt limit for another nine months. Describing the tea party’s strategy to force a rewrite of the Constitution by triggering a default, he concluded that their thinking was along the lines of something from “Lord of the Rings.” “And the tea party hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor,” he said. “This is the kind of crack political thinking ...

Herman Cain Apologizes To Muslims For Betraying ‘Commitment To The Constitution’

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain apologized to Muslims on Wednesday in a statement sent to Politico. "While I stand by my opposition to the interference of sharia law into the American legal system, I remain humble and contrite for any statements I have made that might have caused offense to Muslim Americans and their friends," he said. "I am truly sorry for any comments that may have betrayed my commitment to the U.S. Constitution and the freedom of religion guaranteed by it. Muslims, like all Americans, have the right to practice their faith freely and peacefully.” The statement was issued after Cain met with a small group of Muslim leaders. He had ...

Tea Party Congressman Joe Walsh Being Sued For $100K In Child Support

Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), who has made the media rounds bashing President Obama on the national debt, is being sued for $117,437 in back child support he allegedly owes his ex-wife and their three children, the Chicago Sun-Times reported, according to divorce documents filed in court in December. Walsh's ex-wife Laura Walsh asked a judge to suspend Walsh's driver's license until he paid his child support, the newspaper reports. In response, Walsh asks his ex-wife's lawyer: "Have you no decency?" A lawyer for Walsh said the Illinois Republican doesn't actually owe that much the amount his ex-wife claims, telling the Sun-Times the $117,437 debt was ...

Wasserman Schultz: Not Surprising Allen West Would Crack Under Pressure

Yesterday, Rep. Allen West totally lost his cool and got really, really mad at Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. As The New Civil Rights Movement reported, West, who is best-43;known as the man who falsely claimed her has a higher security rating the President Barack Obama, said, via an email cc’d to Eric Cantor and Nancy Pelosi, that Rep. Wasserman Schultz is “the most vile, unprofessional , [sic] and despicable member of the US House of Representatives,” and went on to call her “a coward,” “characterless,” “not a Lady,” and told her to “shut the heck up.” Wasserman Schultz, who is the Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, ...

Stress-Related Condition ‘Incapacitates’ Bachmann; Heavy Pill Use Alleged

In late July 2010, Rep. Michele Bachmann’s then-communications director, Dave Dziok, told his boss that he planned to take a new job with the public relations firm Edelman. Dziok had worked for Bachmann for two and a half years, a relatively long period by the standards of her office, and was leaving on good terms. Staff turnover can frustrate any employer, but Bachmann responded more dramatically. Dziok’s departure triggered a debilitating medical episode that landed the congresswoman in urgent care. “Within 24 hours she was in the hospital,” a former aide says. Bachmann was admitted to a Washington, D.C. hospital on Friday, July 30, and released that same day. She ...

Has Roger Ailes Hacked Americans' Phones for Fox News?

“Has Roger Ailes been keeping tabs on your phone calls?” That’s how Portfolio.com began a post back in 2008, when a former Fox News executive charged that Ailes had outfitted a highly secured “brain room” in Fox’s New York headquarters for “counterintelligence” and may have used it to hack into private phone records. All this week people have been looking for links between the Murdoch empire’s burgeoning phone-hacking scandal in Britain and News Corp.’s sprawling political/communications juggernaut in the United States. The links so far include a former New York City cop alleging that Murdoch’s now-defunctNews of the World offered to ...

Fox News Contributor Insists He’s ‘Not A Pedophile’

As a general media rule, if you have to assure viewers that you’re not a pedophile then you’ve already lost the debate. But this is exactly what happened when Fox News contributor Dr. Keith Ablow appeared on Fox & Friends Tuesday to object to a baby doll that helps children learn about breastfeeding. “It’s beyond ridiculous,” Ablow told Fox News’ Alisyn Camerota. “It’s destructive. Little girls aren’t even aware how their secondary sexual characteristics will develop, let alone imitating how they’ll be used after childbirth. This is another way of turning little girls into adults. It blurs the boundary between children and adults in ...

In a recent interview with Russia Today, Afshin Rattansi, a Middle Eastern affairs journalist who’s appeared on the BBC, CNN and Bloomberg, said that he believes “Fox News is finished” if U.S. authorities can prove that News Corporation employees attempted to hack into the voicemails of terror attack victims killed on Sept. 11, 2001. “The Democrats have nothing much to do, but they all hate one influential cable channel: Fox News,” he said. “I’m hearing, if the 9/11 victims have been hacked by subsidiaries of News Corp., then Fox News is finished.” This video is from Russia Today, broadcast Sunday, July 17, 2011.
