Post Date: 2019-10-08 14:25:16 by Deckard
(Guy Cali Stock Connection Worldwide/Newscom) Despite a host of legal restrictions on firearms and knives, not to mention a society that increasingly resembles a panopticon in the thoroughness of the surveillance to which it's subjected, the U.K.'s crime rates remain stubbornly resistant to reduction. Last year, London's murder rate briefly overtook that of New York Citya feat likely to be repeated as crime continues its decline in the U.S.and the latest U.K. figures show an increase in violent crimes committed with both guns and knives. So, do right-thinking Britons propose loosening the country's tight rules regarding self-defense so that people can more easily ...
Why “Conspiracy Theory” Is Hate Speech
Post Date: 2019-01-24 09:36:51 by Deckard
Hate speech of course is a fairly silly term, since intent doesnt necessarily follow the literal meaning of words. Let me give you an example: I once sold a house to a gay couple. The one of the pair I dealt with happened to be a really decent guy with a good sense of humor. At the walkthrough our conversation went something like this: James (laughing): So, Paul, you dont mind selling your house to a couple of fags?Paul (also laughing): Nah, itll make the neighbors happy. You guys are always neat and stylish, arent you? I assure you, there was no hate involved in this conversation. James started the joke and I joined in with him. And while I dont ...

US Navy cost increases are worse than the US healthcare system
Post Date: 2018-07-13 17:01:56 by Hondo68
In 2006, the RAND corporation found that from 1965-2005 the US Navy had 7-11% annual inflation for its ships which is worse than the inflation for US college tuition and US healthcare. This was before the Zumwalt destroyers (aka DDX) came in at $7.5 billion each compared to the previous destroyer at $1-2 billion each. Only 3 Zumwalts will be built and they have loads of technical and operational problems. Those were the high function and high cost end of the high-low mix of ships planned in 2006. High costs and massive technical flaws and under-performance The low-end was the LCS (Littoral Combat Ship). The LCS will be a $20+ billion failure. The inexpensive ships are coming at over $600 ...

The Air Force used B-52s with their new conventional rotary launcher, Air Force Brig. Gen. Lance Bunch, the director of NATOs ...
Scientific Study Shows Decades-Old Police Training ‘Responsible for Thousands of Unnecessary Deaths’ (21 Foot Rule)
Post Date: 2017-11-07 05:51:14 by Deckard
A scientific study on the legitimacy of a training drill called the 21-Foot-Rule has revealed that a practice police department across the country have used for decades is responsible for thousands of unnecessary deaths. The investigation conducted by NBC Bay Area looked into how many deaths have resulted from the current policies regulating how officers are taught to deal with citizens who appear to be wielding knives. The 21-Foot-Rule was created in the 1980s and based on the belief that an individual holding a knife, or another sharp object, could cover 21 feet of ground in the same time it takes a police ...

Post Date: 2016-08-16 08:51:07 by Willie Green
A company selling zombie-knives has been criticised as irresponsible after it urged customers to buy the weapons while you can before a UK-wide ban comes into force later this week. Hunters Knives and Swords advertised a range of the horror film-inspired blades including swords, machetes and a £39.99 crossbow pistol. In a message posted on its website on Monday, the company said: Order now after 16th August 2016 you will no longer be able to purchase zombie knives in the UK, so grab them while you can! New legislation comes into force on Thursday meaning that anyone caught in possession of a zombie knife will face up ...

The British Soldier Who Killed Nazis with a Sword and a Longbow
Post Date: 2016-01-11 19:36:25 by Tooconservative
"Mad Jack" on the far right, clutching a claymore sword. Photo via WikiCommons The first thing the Nazi garrison on Vågsøy Island, Norway, would have heard when the British No. 3 Commando battalion landed on December 27, 1941, was the sudden blaring drone of bagpipes. One commando stood at the fore of the landing craft, facing the impending battle and playing the peppy, martial March of the Cameron Men. Upon coming to a halt onshore, the soldier jumped from the craft, hucked a grenade at the Germans, then drew a full sword and ran screaming into the fray. That maniacally fierce soldier was 35-year-old Lieutenant Colonel John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming ...
Archaeologists unearth military arsenal from the era of Ivan the Terrible
Post Date: 2016-01-04 09:00:37 by cranky
The location of the find was formerly the 16th-century village of Ignatievskoe, once the homeland of the famous Boyar family of the Dobrynins. A member of this family once figured amongst Ivan the Terrible's "hand-picked thousand "the top brass of the notorious Tsar's army, an elite officer group formed in October 1550. A royal edict ordered that the cities of Dmitrov, Zvenigorod and Ruza should be "brought to heel" by a specially formed unit of "the best officers, sons of Boyars." The "hand-picked thousand" became the new elite officer corps of the Russian army. The remains of around 60 village buildings were uncovered during the dig. ...

Police say the 10- and 11-year-old students at Clifton Elementary School 11 made a device out of cinnamon and vinegar. It would not have exploded, obviously. That didnt stop Clifton police from taking the adorable little plottersfour girls and one boyinto custody yesterday. They were released to their parents after questioning, and no charges have yet been filed. Sgt. Robert Bracken, a spokesman for the Clifton PD, stressed to NorthJersey.com that the ...
U.S. Will Require Drones to Be Registered
Post Date: 2015-10-17 09:56:31 by Willie Green
The federal government will announce a new plan requiring anyone buying a drone to register the device with the U.S. Department of Transportation, NBC news has learned. The government has been concerned about the rise in close calls between unmanned drones and aircraft flying into and out of some of the nation's biggest airports. The plan is expected to be announced Monday. In July, there was a dangerously close encounter between a drone and a passenger jet with 159 people aboard setting up to land at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. The unmanned aerial vehicle was just 100 feet away from the passenger jet at an altitude of 1,700 feet; normal safe separation ...
Ballmer at War
Post Date: 2015-05-09 14:23:11 by Dead Culture Watch
As a certified member of the curmudgeon's tribe, practicing our dismal and lonely trade, I am delighted by the events in Baltimore. Among curmudgeons, almost our only joy is the gratification of confirmation of our dark expectionions of humanity. In the case of Ballmer, a particular source of somber joy is the gap separating the Talking-Heads Chorale and reality. Wanton foolishness is ever a curmudgeonly delight. The Talking-Heads Chorale will see the riots, are seeing the riots, not as an intensification of the undeclared racial war, but as a protest against racist police or the racism of whites. Oh, quite. Never mind that Ballmers black government sets standards for the hiring, ...
Remaining female candidates must restart Ranger training after missing mark in 1st phase
Post Date: 2015-05-09 08:33:03 by Gatlin
None of the remaining eight female candidates going through the Army Ranger School made it out of the first phase of training at Fort Benning, Ga., defense officials told Fox News -- though they scored high enough to try again as early as next week. The candidates were the first women to train for the elite force as part of a program that began in February. While they did not do well enough to move on to the next phase of training, an Army Ranger statement said the eight women -- along with 101 men in the same situation -- will be "recycled," meaning they can re-do the training phase in an upcoming Ranger School session. A total of 60 women were originally slated ...
The Problem with Race Wars among Minorities
Post Date: 2015-02-09 14:12:33 by Dead Culture Watch
I can only guess that the reason you dont hear much about black-versus-Hispanic violence in America is that youre not supposed to hear much about it. Its the sort of thing that swims upstream against the dominant narrative with the tenacity of a thuggish, heavily tattooed salmon. In the nations fevered movie dreams about racial violence, its white people (and only white people) who go about thrashing nonwhites (and only nonwhites). But in cities across the countrymost notably, Los Angelesone group of nonwhites is engaged in a prolonged, grinding, violent turf war with another group of nonwhitesand thats something which is clearly NOT in ...
Libertarians Are Taking Over The Republican Party [Full Thread]
Post Date: 2015-01-17 00:08:54 by Hondo68
Former Michigan Republican Rep. Thaddeus McCotter says his party’s future belongs to the libertarians.
It’s a message McCotter has been spreading in interviews and to anyone who’ll listen. He’s even laid out his case in a smart book, “Liberty Risen: The Ultimate Triumph of Libertarian-Republicans, where he claims libertarians even have something to say to the Budweiser-drinking, boxer-wearing, pro-life, Boston sheet metal worker.
Most Republicans who hype the libertarian moment are libertarians themselves. Not McCotter. He is a Russell Kirk-quoting social conservative. “I’m not a libertarian,” he jokes. “I just play one on TV.” But while fellow social conservatives like Mike Huckabee ...
Derrick Mosley tries to rob gun store with baseball bat and knife, failed to rob Discount Gun Sales
Post Date: 2013-07-27 13:39:36 by Hondo68
As the saying goes, don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Or, in this case, don't try to hold up a gun store with a baseball bat and a knife. That's what Derrick Mosley did when he attempted to rob Discount Gun Sales in Oregon. (CNN) -- As the saying goes, don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Or, in this case, don't try to hold up a gun store with a baseball bat and a knife. Authorities in Oregon say a man who tried to rob a gun store outside of Portland was just so under-armed when he tried to pull off a heist Thursday afternoon. The suspect ended up on the ground, taking orders from the store manager who held the man at gunpoint until police came. The would-be robber ...

Arizona Sheriff blows off Taitz Subpoena By Dr. Conspiracy on January 28, 2012 in Ballot Challenges, Lawsuits I dont have a count of exactly how many subpoenas Orly Taitz served in the case of Farrar v. Obama. I guess only the parties to the case know that. I dont know exactly now many of them refused to come. Barack Obama didnt show, as has been widely reported. Hawaii Department of Health Director, Loretta Fuddy didnt show after a court in Hawaii said the Georgia subpoena was not binding. The third no-show was Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Libyan rebels Killing Black Gaddafi Supporters (Obama/NATO genocide)
Post Date: 2011-08-27 12:24:07 by Hondo68
Washington Post [...] A few minutes drive from the fire station, at least 15 bodies, most of them Gaddafis black African supporters, lay rotting in the sun at a traffic junction outside his Bab al-Aziziyah complex. Several of the dead wore green pieces of cloth wrapped around their wrists to signal loyalty to the Gaddafi regime. The men may have died during Tuesdays battle for Bab al-Aziziyah, and several were wearing military fatigues. But not all of them looked like ordinary battlefield deaths. Two dead men lay face down on the grass, their hands bound behind their backs with plastic cuffs. The worst treatment of Gaddafi loyalists appeared to be reserved for anyone ...
