Sean Hannity continues demonization of Ron Paul, calling his supporters crazy [Full Thread]

Faux conservative Sean Hannity created a lot of controversy when he recently called Congressman Ron Paul nuts. He expanded on this last week, Monday, Dec.14th, by referring to Ron Paul's supporters as crazy. During the Hannity radio show segment which aired at approximately 2:50PM (third hour) on KABC 790 radio Los Angeles, I clicked on the channel and heard Hannity caustically referring to "A Ron Paul presidency" saying something to the effect of "this is what you would get", comparing Paul's foreign policy ideals to the democrats. He went on to say that he likes some of Ron Paul's ideas but that a lot of Paul's supporters are crazy. I bring up this ...

through the horrors of 9/11 and the stunning lifestyle advances, my generation's era has been historic and exciting. Yet for all the drama and change, the years only occasionally instilled in me the sensation I feel almost constantly now. I am afraid for my country. I am afraid -- actually, certain -- we are losing the heart and soul that made America unique in human history. Yes, we have enemies, but the greatest danger comes from within. Watching the freak show in Copenhagen last week, I was alternately furious and filled with dread. The world has gone absolutely bonkers and lunatics are in charge. Mugabe and Chavez are treated with respect and the United Nations is serious about ...

Kwanzaa Popularity Falling? Some Say That it Is

Some experts say that the popularity of the traditional African-American holiday, Kwanzaa, is leveling off. According to research by Dr. Keith Mayes, an assistant professor of African-American Studies at The University of Minnesota, the celebration of Kwanzaa among African Americans is between 500,000 to 2 million out of the 40 million people identified by the U.S. Census as "black." These numbers, if accurate, imply that the number of Kwanzaa loyalists may not have grown much from the initial push 20 years ago. The perceived slow down in Kwanzaa adoption obviously gives reason for pause, as we have to analyze Dr. Mayes' findings a bit more deeply. This is not to imply that ...

Who likes the president? Unchurched, unmarried, poor, inexperienced and pro-Obama

A strategist casting a cold eye on the Gallup poll tracking President Obama's job approval rating might be tempted to give our president the following advice: Sir, you need more unmarried, unchurched, poor and inexperienced Americans. Given the polling trends, the more people who are devout, married and prosperous and have seen more than a few decades of life, the worse it will be for the president. What's good for America is bad for Mr. Obama. Unless, of course, you think that faith, family, wealth and longevity are bad. But, then, who would think that? Each Monday, Gallup publishes a demographic breakdown of the president's approval rating among the people it has surveyed ...

By S. J. Miller Dust from the November 2006 election had barely settled when presidential candidates began assembling for the 2008 campaign. With the exception of Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), most were known quantities. Lots of "folklore" has been circulated about Congressman Paul, but how much is actually fact vs. "factoid?" Dr. Paul's distinction among Republican candidates is that he's the only one who opposes the War in Iraq. As an American who long ago realized that the US military is used as a corporate security force to protect globalist assets and interests overseas, and the "wars" and "police actions" are mounted whenever global ...

While You Sleep: 1:00 AM Monday Vote Set on Obamacare (Obamacare procedural timeline)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has set the stage for a major vote Monday morning at 1:00 AM – one that would require the support of 60 Senators. That would, if all goes according to Senator Reid’s plan, set up a late-night Christmas Eve vote on final passage. Senator Reid also used a rare procedure to block any further amendments from being offered, debated or voted upon. When it comes time for Senators to cast their vote at 1:00AM Monday morning, shortly after Sunday Night Football ends and most Americans are in bed, they will have had less than 38 hours to understand a 383-page amendment that introduces several new concepts into the health care debate, including: ...

An aide to Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) coordinated opposition to the Senate health bill’s abortion compromise this morning with the Republican Senate leadership, according to a chain of frantic emails obtained this morning by POLITICO. Stupak, in an interview with POLITICO, called the Senate bill’s abortion position "unacceptable" – but disavowed his staffer’s collaboration with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. “I never talked to McConnell about the health care bill,” said Stupak, adding that “I did not authorize the email [which] “was sent without my knowledge.” Stupak said that he has discussed the Senate’s abortion ...

We’ll be blunt. The ‘health care reform’ legislation under consideration in the Senate is the most corrupt piece of legislation in our nation’s history. Yes, we understand that is a strong statement and there have been other abominations throughout our nation’s life. But never before did corrupt legislation threaten to radically and forever change the live’s of every American. Exhibit A is the outright bribe extracted by Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Corn Huckster State) from Sen. Harry Reid. As a result of Nelson’s performance in his role of Hamlet in the health care deliberations, we will have two health care systems in this country; one for Nebraska and one for ...

Some mortgage insurers and lenders are beginning to relax their down-payment requirements, in a sign of increased confidence in the housing market. The changes, which are being done on a market-by-market basis, mean buyers in some parts of the country can now borrow 95% instead of 90% of a property's value. Until recently, mortgage companies had tighter standards for these markets because of falling home prices. "We are feeling better about the economic condition of the marketplace," said Michael Zimmerman, senior vice president of investor relations at mortgage insurer MGIC Insurance Corp. Borrowers who want to finance more than 80% ...

Hugo Chavez Calls Obama The Devil, Will Media Notice?

In September 2006 when Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called George W. Bush the Devil at the United Nations, the Bush-hating press couldn't get enough of the comment. On Friday, Chavez spoke to the U.N. climate change conference in Copenhagen after President Obama made his keynote address, and much as he did three years ago, the Venezuelan despot said, "It still smells of sulfur here," referring to the lectern. Given the attention Chavez's claim got three years ago when he made it about Bush, how will Obama-loving media report such a statement being made about their hero? (video embedded below the fold with transcript, h/t Fausta): HUGO CHAVEZ: That's why we ...

By Eugene Robinson Tuesday, December 15, 2009 Sarah Palin is such a cold-eyed skeptic about the Copenhagen summit on climate change that it's no surprise she would call on President Obama not to attend. After all, Obama might join other leaders in acknowledging that warming is a "global challenge." He might entertain "opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions." He might even explore ways to "participate in carbon-trading markets." Oh, wait. Those quotes aren't from some smug Euro-socialist manifesto. They're from an administrative order Palin signed in September 2007, as governor of Alaska, establishing a "sub-Cabinet" of top ...

Do you live in the happiest state in America? Well if you live in New York, you're in the least happy state according to the Huffington Post article. The top thing on the list that made the Empire State the least happy was the government. One resident described the government as “…corrupt, self-dealing and too quick to increase taxes.” It is no secret that New York has had a troubled government for sometime now. Constantly cutting well needed programs for children and the elderly. Not being able to pass a budget in a timely fashion or one that works for that matter. The lack of governmental leadership that this state has is causing a lot of issues that runs right down to ...

Projections Put Whites in Minority in U.S. by 2050

Without new immigrants, by the middle of the century the nation’s population would begin to decline, the elderly would account for nearly one in four Americans and non-Hispanic whites would remain a majority, according to new projections by the Census Bureau. But if immigration were to merely slow, rather than stop, non-Hispanic whites, who now account for nearly two-thirds of the population, would become a minority by 2050, according to the projections released Wednesday. If the pace of immigration increases, that benchmark could be reached as early as 2040. Depending on the pace of international migration, the nation’s population, currently at 308 million, could grow to as ...

Comprehensive immigration reform to take center stage again

During his campaign, President Obama made a commitment to push for real, comprehensive immigration reform. While domestic issues such as healthcare and financial regulation have occupied the public debate throughout 2009, there is good reason to believe that the nation’s attention will once again turn towards immigration reform in 2010. On December 15, 2009, Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 (CIR ASAP) in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Gutierrez’s legislation has its heart in the right place, focusing on the values that are at the core of America – family, ...

A major storm was expected to bury the Washington region Saturday with what forecasters said could be the largest snowfall to hit the area in six years and the greatest December accumulation in more than 70 years. Accumulations of 15 inches or more in the city and up to 24 inches in parts of the Blue Ridge Mountains were possible, according to the National Weather Service. The snow was expected to cause significant disruptions for shoppers, travelers and revelers on the last weekend -- and biggest shopping day -- before Christmas. Especially large amounts of snow could accumulate southeast of the Interstate 95 corridor, where "paralyzing" near-blizzard conditions could occur, ...

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid led a marathon negotiating session Friday with Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) in a hectic bid to persuade the last holdout to sign onto the health care reform bill ahead of a key deadline Saturday morning. Nelson was huddling into the evening with Reid, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and a circle of top White House officials that included deputy chief of staff Jim Messina and senior adviser Pete Rouse. Nelson was seeking stronger language to prohibit federal financing of abortions and additional relief for his state from future Medicaid funding obligations. At 8 p.m., Nelson left a meeting in Reid’s office, telling reporters, “There’s no ...

For instance, Democrats expect to have to waive a budget point of order they expect Republicans to raise against the defense appropriations bill. That requires 60 votes… “After being assured by Democratic and Republican leaders that his vote was not needed to pass the Defense Appropriations bill, Senator Lieberman went ...

Copenhagen (CNN) – In a strange twist, a Washington snowstorm is forcing Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, to make an early departure from a global warming summit here in Denmark. Pelosi told CNN that military officials leading her Congressional delegation have urged the 21 lawmakers to leave Copenhagen several hours earlier than scheduled on Saturday. The Speaker said she has agreed to the new travel plan so that lawmakers can get back to Washington before much of the expected storm wallops the nation's capital.

Health gap kills 3,200 black Chicagoans every year

The wide racial gap in health is growing in Chicago, a major new study has found. Already lagging far behind whites on most key measures of health, blacks in Chicago have fallen even further behind in 11 of 15 areas reviewed by Chicago's Sinai Urban Health Institute between 1990 and 2005 -- including infant mortality, heart-disease deaths and diabetes. There's a stark, human cost in that: In all, the researchers estimated that the toll of the black-white health disparity is an additional 3,200 deaths of African Americans in Chicago every year. It isn't that blacks' health is declining. In fact, overall, the health of both African Americans and whites in Chicago and across ...

The 42-year-old has said he made a "serious error in judgment" when he drove away after his SUV rear-ended another vehicle. A 13-year-old boy and his father received minor injuries. Sarah Palin cuts vacation short Sarah Palin announced Thursday night that she ended a Hawaii vacation early because of the ruckus raised after she blacked out "McCain" on her sun visor in an effort to elude paparazzi. After the former Alaska governor was photographed on the beach earlier this week, TMZ.com portrayed the visor marking as a slight of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), her running mate last year. Palin, in the midst of a book tour for her million-selling "Going Rogue," released this statement: "In an attempt to 'go incognito,' I Sharpied the logo out on my sun visor so photographers would be less likely to recognize me and bother my kids or other ...
