Oklahomans don't like President Barack Obama. A lot. Obama's Oklahoma Poll approval rating fell to 27 percent in July, the lowest for any elected official in the 17-year history of the survey. The previous low for an elected official was former Gov. David Walters' 33 percent in both 1993 and 1994. The previous low for a president was Obama's 36 percent in January of this year. Before that, it was President Bill Clinton's 37 percent at the end of 1994. While having lunch with some of his fellow Democrats he told them he'd be willing to help them earn re-elections in November, even if that meant staying away from their campaigns. Daughter Liz Cheney says her 69-year-old dad is out of intensive care and hopes to return home this week. She tells "Fox News Sunday" that he's already planning trips for fly fishing and hunting later this year. Dick Cheney has had five heart attacks since he was 37. A Democratic congressional candidate has told police he was assaulted near downtown Spokane after making sexual advances to another man. David R. Fox, who moved to Spokane from Port Angeles recently to run against Republican U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, told police he wasn't injured in Sunday's altercation. But he is pressing charges against the man. Fox is one of four Democrats in the Aug. 17 primary. The attorney entered the race at the last minute and has no known campaign office or website. Worse yet, the pattern has been to revise these numbers downwards when Commerce firms up its data. The next statement of Q2 GDP will come on August 27, just before Congress comes back in session and right at the prime time of summer campaign season, just a week before Labor Day.
