NBC’s “Harry’s Law” Is Leftist Claptrap Post Date: 2011-01-27 16:16:59 by no gnu taxes

I have to laugh every time I hear leftists defend their awful ideas like population control, universal health care, and the benefits of Communism. As usual, the first response that always comes to my mind is, You first! Tonights example comes from NBCs new show starring Kathy Bates, Harrys Law. I dont go into network TV shows expecting conservative values or anything, but I am always surprised when they go off the deep end pushing the Lefts point of view with the ferocity of terrorized Scotts wielding a battering ram. Harrys Law is so far left and over the top, its riotously funny for reasons the writers never intended. I ...

Last night when I left work I trudged the five or so blocks to my car as the icy wind cut through my pants and chilled me to the bone. When I got home I turned on the local news to check the forecast, and forgot to turn it off before World News Tonight came on. I was flabbergasted when I heard them tell me that the record cold across the country is due to global warming. I checked the ABC News site and I cant find the segment about global warming, but I know Im not the only one who saw it. Record Cold Is Global Warming! There is no end of madness and doublespeak in media today. ABCs World News actually said today that the reason our winter is so severely cold ...

(01-27) 09:09 PST Salt Lake City (AP) -- The Army says Dugway Proving Ground, where military weapons are tested, was locked down for hours because a small amount of a nerve agent was unaccounted for. The military said in a statement Thursday the amount missing was less than one fourth of a teaspoon of VX nerve agent, which affects the body's ability to carry messages through the nerves. The missing vial prompted a lockdown late Wednesday afternoon that lasted until the agent was found early Thursday. The Army says no one was in danger and the lockdown was ordered as a precaution. Between 1,200 and 1,400 people were inside the facility at the time. Dugway is about 85 miles southwest ...
“View” Lefties Can’t See Why Child Porn Might Be a Problem Post Date: 2011-01-27 12:49:57 by no gnu taxes

The smug certainty with which leftists insist that theyre better people than conservatives has always been an interesting phenomenon. Were asked to believe that our opponents are more moral, more responsible, more enlightened, and more sensitive than we are one minute
and one of our betters turns around and asks what the big deal is about some outrageous case of moral degeneracy the next. Such is the case of the latest pontifications from The View co-host Joy Behar. In a discussion of Skins, the new MTV show which might have broken child pornography laws by filming actors as young as 15 performing explicit simulated sexual acts, Behar suggested that the only reason people ...

The number of respondents that have a positive opinion of the Republican Party has spiked over the last year. Inversely, the numbers for the Democratic Party have fallen from their 2008 highs. This comes in the aftermath of the Health Care debate and the November Midterm Elections. In some ways, this shows that the two parties are almost equal in its positive-negative ratings. The poll is from Gallup, which has been doing similar polling for decades. Democratic Party Positive: 46% Negative: 47% Other/dk: 7% These numbers show a modest improvement from the 2010 lows for the Democrats: In March, just after President Obama signed the healthcare reform bill into law, 41% of Americans had ...

Judicial emergency declared in Arizona, could delay Jared Lee Loughner trial TUCSON, Ariz. -- The new chief judge of the Arizona district declared a court emergency which will lengthen the amount of time allowed for bringing certain criminal cases to trial, the Los Angeles Times reported late Tuesday. The move could delay the trial of Jared Lee Loughner, the accused shooter in the Jan. 8 rampage that killed six and left Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords severely injured. U.S. Sen. Rand Paul wants to slash numerous federal programs, including food stamps for the poor, to save $500 billion in a single year. A legislative proposal Paul introduced on Tuesday would slash $42 billion from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's food stamp program -- a 30 percent spending reduction. His proposal would eliminate numerous other programs, including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Paul said the proposal would roll back federal spending to 2008 levels and eliminate what he considers the most wasteful programs. The Kentucky Republican said he hopes his proposal will spark a ...

Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Arizona Governor Jan Brewer asked for U.S. permission to tighten Medicaid eligibility to drop coverage for 280,000 people and slash $541.5 million in spending, a move other states may follow. The 16th-largest state by population faces a $1.2 billion deficit in the coming fiscal year, more than 80 percent of which is from Medicaid costs, Brewer wrote in a letter to U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius yesterday. We are in a crisis unlike any we have seen, said Brewer, a 66-year-old Republican. We are in a struggle for our states survival. Mary Kahn, a spokeswoman for Sebelius, declined to comment, saying she ...

Barack Obamas Sputnik Moment sums up his speech best. In fact, there is no reason to fully dwell on his speech in light of the sputnik moment. What do I mean? Consider this: Barack Obama declared that This is our generations Sputnik moment. His reference was to the mobilization of the United States after the Soviets launched the Sputnik satellite. President Kennedy mobilized the United States to aggressively combat the Soviets with not just an arms race, but with a space race a race to the moon. President Obama declared our present economic climate our sputnik moment then proceeded to ignore NASA in his speech while defunding our space program. ...

(CBS) TUCSON - A woman went on trail Tuesday in Arizona accused of gunning down a 9-year-old girl and her father in their own home. The story was overshadowed by news of President Obama's big speech and by the other Arizona shooting which has gripped the nation, but it's no less shocking. Shawna Forde, the head of a fringe anti-immigration patrol group called Minutemen American Defense, is charged with two counts of first degree murder. Prosecutors say she organized a raid on the home of Gina Gonzalez and her husband Raul Flores on May 30, 2009. Forde allegedly believed Flores was involved in drug trafficking and that she and her associates would be able to seize cash or ...

Barack Obama's State of the Union address sure sounded good, didn't it? There were lots of solemn promises, lots of stuff about America's "bright future" and a line about how we are now facing this generation's "Sputnik moment" that will surely make headlines all over the globe. But we all knew that Barack Obama could give a good speech. That has never been the issue. What the American people really need are some very real answers to some very real problems. So were there any real answers in Barack Obama's State of the Union address? Well, Barack Obama promised that America will "out-innovate, out-educate and out-build" the rest of the ...

WASHINGTON One of the White House's top Republican critics on Tuesday played down talk that US aid to Israel could face deep cuts at a time when overseas assistance from Washington is being scrutinized. "I've always said that any aid to foreign countries should pass the test of whether it helps support the security of the United States," Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor told AFP. Cantor said it was "very clear" that Israel was waging "the same war against radical Islam that we are in" and therefore met that test. The lawmaker also cautioned against expecting "across-the-board" cuts in overseas funds as President Barack ...
Collapse of economies showed socialism's faults Post Date: 2011-01-26 12:58:59 by no gnu taxes

At one time, Cuba had a healthy economy and then came socialism. It got so bad that Cubans have risked death in small rowboats to get to the shores of capitalism and all it offers. There is no middle class, only the poor and the wealthy ruling class. Cuba is now laying off about 500,000 government workers. After 50 years, socialism is failing right on schedule. In North Korea, citizens are starving; there is no middle class, only the poor and the ruling class. The only way for that government to survive is to rattle sabers and hope the U.S. will offer foreign aid again so it behaves for a while. After 65 years of socialism, it's failing right on schedule. In the USSR, there was no ...

The APD also claims the National Enquirer published their story without ever contacting officials to check their facts.

The common phrase I hear from well-meaning, idealistic liberals is this: The world would be so much nicer if wed all just share. They believe that corporations and their evil CEOs are greedy. Those who have acquired wealth are greedy. Those who put themselves through years of school and then work hard to earn a nice life for themselves are greedy. Those who win the lottery and proceed to buy themselves a new house and a new car are not greedy, they are simply fortunate. It brings up memories of Barack Obamas little chat with Joe the Plumber- the one where he told Joe that its just better for everyone ...

Spains credit rating downgrade, towering public deficit and debt crisis do not mean that much to Santos Yubero. All this 55-year-old from Madrid cares about is getting a job, after two years on the dole. With his unemployment benefits about to end, Mr Yubero like many others in Spain is desperate. Today like every day in the last months, I woke up with the economic news and it does not impress me, he wrote in a letter to El Mundo newspaper today. I know that we are going to have more poor and I will never have a job which sustains me. For two months I have had no interview. I could write more but I almost shout I want to be ...

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obamas socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obamas plan. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A
. After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second ...

As the Obama Administration continues to adopt the European socialist model, evidence continues to surface concerning the abject failure of this disastrous economic system. Francesca Esposito, 29 and exquisitely educated, helped win millions of euros in false disability and other lawsuits for her employer, a major Italian state agency. But one day last fall she quit, fed up with how surreal and ultimately sad it is to be young in Italy today. It galled her that even with her competence and fluency in five languages, it was nearly impossible to land a paying job. Working as an unpaid trainee lawyer was bad enough, she thought, but doing it at Italys social security administration ...
