WASHINGTON (AP) -- More than 100 anti-war protesters, including the man who leaked the Pentagon Papers, were arrested outside the White House on Saturday in demonstrations marking the eighth anniversary of the U.S.-led war in Iraq. The protesters, some shouting anti-war slogans and singing "We Shall Not Be Moved," were arrested after ignoring orders to move away from the gates of the White House. Miami-Dade County Mayor Mayor Carlos Alvarez raised property taxes. He used the money to give huge raises to government bureaucrats. Yesterday, he was booted from office in a landslide recall election. 200,000 people voted in the election, making this the largest recall election of a local government official in U.S. history. 88% of the people voted to toss him out. This should be another warning to the cowardly and clueless politicians in D.C. who are still refusing to deal with the government deficit, debt, and economy.

WASHINGTON - Police are searching for suspects after someone shot-out windows at a Republican office in the District. Police say the vandalism occurred Tuesday night. All of the windows of the officer were damaged. The executive director of the Republican Committee says an air gun was probably used. Police also say they found a ‘BB’ on the ground outside the office. Workers believe the shooting was politically related.
