LOL Crybaby Leftards whine over Prosser's victory in Wisconsin

In WI, a recount at state-expense is triggered if an election is within .5% if the candidate requests it, and we have a fully verifiable paper trail to audit election results. That means in this election with approximately 740k for Kloppenburg and 739k for Prosser, the vote gets recounted at state-expense if the election is within ~7400 votes. So the last 2 days the WI-GOP has been scrambling trying to figure out how they can still get Prosser into office. What was the result of their brain-storming? Add a few extra votes in a friendly area (Waukesha), and call it a clerical error. But in order to steal the election, they NEED to be able to keep a recount from occurring, because a recount ...

Not 2 Be Missed | Presidential dream: long walk in the park

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama wants you to know that he is not a golf addict. He spends so much time unwinding on the links because security restrictions mean he can't go out for long walks or go to the carwash or the grocery store. The president's comments came during a session with editors and publishers from Hearst Magazines in which he described life behind the scenes in the White House. The president said he loves his life in the White House but doesn't enjoy some of the ways of Washington, such as the "kabuki dance" among political partisans before serious policy discussions begin. He also regrets his loss of personal privacy. "I just miss - I miss ...

Obama administration plans budget blitz

Seeking to regain the initiative on spending cuts from House Republicans before Congress begins both the budget and debt fights, President Obama later this week will lay out a new plan to make real dents in the federal deficit, the White House said Sunday. Making the rounds of the weekend political talk shows, White House senior adviser David Plouffe, the president’s campaign manager in 2008, said the president will call for increased taxes on higher-income taxpayers and for specific deficit-reduction targets the government should meet. Mr. Plouffe said he would leave the details for the president, who he said will deliver a speech on his “approach” to spending, but said ...

The GOP did just fine

The GOP did just fine Thomas Lifson There is more good in the budget deal than is revealed in the budget cut number agreed on last night. Measured against the size of budget cutting necessary for the future, the numbers are small, to be sure, but this number was a tactical, not a strategic engagement. The key to the matter is momentum, principle, and precedent, which set up the strategic environment for 2012. Andrew Stiles at NRO correctly points out the extent of the Harry Reid cave-in. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) didn't want to cut anything at first. But bowing to political reality, eventually ponied up about $4.7 billion in cuts. He ended up with $33.8 billion ...

Koran grandstand at security meet~hearing on homeland security exploded yesterday

A Manhattan hearing on homeland security exploded yesterday after an Arab-American activist testified that she was taught as a youngster to "hate Jews" and "hate America," enraging a Brooklyn lawmaker who gripped a Koran and grandly accused her of spreading "hate and poison." "Check what's going on -- it's not a secret," Nonine Darwish, president of Former Muslims United, said at a heavily policed state Senate hearing on homeland security at 250 Broadway. "You're supposed to hate Jews, you're supposed to hate America, you're supposed to hate Western culture," said Darwish, who grew up and was educated in Egypt and came ...

Tea Party members Michele Bachmann, Rand Paul blast budget deal as John Boehner claims victory

The Tea Party is steamed over DC's budget deal. While President Obama, Senate majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) hailed Friday night's eleventh hour accord to avoid a government shutdown as "historic," several Tea Party members did not feel the same way. Tea Party darling Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) called the $39-billion slashing deal a "disappointment." Millions of Americans expected $100 billion in cuts and "wanted to make sure their tax dollars stopped flowing to the nation's largest abortion provider, and who wanted us to defund ObamaCare," Bachmann said in a statement. "Instead, we've been ...

Klobuchar Claims Voter Asked If GOP Will "Mess" with Birth Control April 8, 2011 RUSH: John Boehner, we're gonna start here. He just had a little presser this afternoon, and during the Q&A, a reporter said, "Mr. Speaker, the Senate majority leader, [Dingy Harry], said today that you do have an agreement -- roughly around $30 billion in cuts -- and that the only thing that's holding this up is a difference over Title X funding. Is he telling the truth?" BOEHNER: Almost all of the policy issues have been dealt with, and there is no agreement on the spending level, and we're working to try to get there. REPORTERS: (all screaming at once) REPORTER: Is ...

Why Aren’t the Rich Paying 50 Percent in Taxes? by Reason TV Tax Day (April 18) is fast approaching, which means anxiety and night sweats for about 99 percent of us. And bitching and moaning by those at the top of the income pyramid about how they aren’t forced to pay even more in taxes. (The top 1 percent of filers pay about 40 percent of income taxes.) Secretary of state and cattle-futures queen Hillary Clinton, super-investor Warren Buffett, and best-selling author Stephen King have all recently carped about how rich folks like them should be paying more in taxes. King recently told a Florida rally, “As a rich person, I’m paying 28 percent in taxes. What I want to ...

Planned Parenthood spent more than $1 million electing Democrats last cycle By: Timothy P. Carney 04/08/11 4:23 PM Here's something to keep in mind as Democrats risk a government shutdown in order to preserve federal subsidies of Planned Parenthood. From the Center for Responsive Politics: In 2010, Planned Parenthood and a California affiliate together spent more than $700,000 on federal lobbying efforts, a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of federal lobbying records finds. By comparison, all other organizations that primarily advocate for abortion rights collectively spent $247,280 on federal lobbying efforts during the same period, according to the Center's research. ...

Federal prosecutors in New Jersey are looking into whether mobile application developers are illegally sharing personal data of their users with advertising firms, and now a security researcher may have just reinforced the the case against at least one of those involved. Veracode senior researcher Tyler Shields shared details of their study on music service Pandora, and found that "personal information is being transmitted to advertising agencies in mass quantities." Shields did not explicitly say whether or not the information transmitted may be illegal. Pandora disclosed that it was being investigated in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on April 4. Rand Paul: Regulating Black Lung Could Be Too Pricey For Big Coal

WASHINGTON -- With American miners still succumbing to black lung disease, the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has proposed a plan to reduce the number of such deaths through the stricter regulation of mining sites. But at a congressional committee meeting last week, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) voiced concern that the new regulations may not be worth the cost to coal companies -- even though pockets of his state have been designated black lung “hot spots” by the federal government. In a hearing of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee, Paul also asserted that the number of black lung cases has been on the decline. But according to the National ...

If you haven’t heard about the pending government shutdown, time to get out from under your rock. Having failed to pass a fiscal year 2011 budget the government has been repeatedly funded by a series of temporary budgets. Each time we get closer to the end of the current temporary budget the threat of a government shutdown hangs over the heads of Americans. Today another temporary federal appropriation bill was passed. The bill HR 1363 would fund the federal government for one more week, ensuring yet another showdown and more headaches next week. But, just to make sure we can still fund our military adventurism and empire overseas the bill would fund the military through the end of ...

BREAKING: Computer Error Could Give Prosser 7,381 More Votes, Victory

After Tuesday night’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election, a computer error in heavily Republican Waukesha County failed to send election results for the entire City of Brookfield to the Associated Press. The error, revealed today, would give incumbent Supreme Court Justice David Prosser a net 7,381 votes against his challenger, attorney Joanne Kloppenburg. On Wednesday, Kloppenburg declared victory after the AP reported she finished the election with a 204-vote lead, out of nearly 1.5 million votes cast. On election night, AP results showed a turnout of 110,000 voters in Waukesha County — well short of the 180,000 voters that turned out last November, and 42 percent of the ...

Police arrested Robert Richard Titcomb, 49, of Waialua on suspicion of prostitution Monday night. Bobby Titcomb and President Obama have been close friends since their childhood days at Punahou School. The two are frequently seen on the news golfing, playing basketball and dining together when the Obama family vacations in Hawaii. Polls: Public Fury at Budget Impasse Surges — Voters Turn to Tea Party By David A. Patten The war of words over a possible government shutdown escalated sharply Thursday afternoon, even as polls suggest voters are increasingly angry over the political games that are standing in the way of budget cuts and a deal to fund federal operations. Members of both parties jeered each other on the floor of the House Thursday, as congressional decorum appeared to break down. At one point Democrats chanted “Bush, Bush, Bush!” in an effort to blame the nations budget woes on former President George W. Bush. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., reminded colleagues: “We are ...

President Obama Blames You for High Gas Prices Posted April 7th, 2011 at 2:00pm President Barack Obama deflected blame for high gas prices yesterday, by blaming American consumers for their automobile choices. According to the AP, at an event at a wind turbine plant, “Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices.” Obama laughingly said: “If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know…you might want to think about a trade-in.” (The AP later scrubbed this quote from its stories) For most Americans, however, high gas prices are no laughing matter. And for the president to suggest that a ...

CWA Members Seeing Red After Union Bosses Blow Dues Money on Themselves by LaborUnionReport There’s an internal war going on in one of the Communications Workers of America’s largest locals, New York City’s Local 1101. Accusations of poor, absentee leadership has caused a group of rank and file stewards and chief stewards to start a campaign to reform the local. Now, the issues have involved the CWA International in Washington, which has placed a monitor over the local due to an investigation’s findings that revealed the local’s union bosses have been fattening themselves on their members’ dues. CWA Local 1101 has nearly 7,000 members—most of whom work ...

Landing on his feet just hours after his program was dropped by Fox News Channel, controversial host Glenn Beck announced today that he had just inked a new contract to join the cable network Syfy, formerly known as the Sci Fi Channel. Speaking at a press conference announcing the move, Mr. Beck told reporters, “The best part of this deal is that I won’t need to change my format at all.” Mr. Beck said that his program was “a perfect fit” for a schedule of programming packed with aliens, paranoid conspiracy theories and alternative universes. But the TV host’s enthusiasm was tempered somewhat by Syfy spokesperson Tracy Klugian, who told reporters, “We ...

WASHINGTON — As a candidate, Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler denounced stimulus spending and, once elected, voted for a Republican budget bill that would make $61 billion in cuts to a vast array of programs this year. Government overspending is out of control, she said recently in the weekly Republican address, and must be stopped. But perhaps not in her home state, Washington. There, the Port of Vancouver had been waiting for a $10 million grant, one modeled on a popular program in the stimulus bill. But the money was rescinded in the Republican spending bill, known as H.R. 1, that passed the House in February but was later defeated in the Democratic-controlled Senate. Port ...

As the field for the Republican presidential nomination rounds into form, it is becoming clear that the traditional standard bearers for the GOP aren't bearing up well under Tea Party scrutiny. Dominated by a raft of losing 2008 also-rans, the Republican field must yield candidates likely to live up to the demanding standards of one of the largest and most successful grass roots movement in the history of the Grand Old Party. The one candidate that, in my opinion, demonstrates the most consistent adherence to Tea Party principles perfectly described the GOP dilemma in Iowa on Sunday: Its not enough just to be a Republican (Rand Paul told the crowd) Its not enough just for the ...

Leftist television channel MSNBC made a mockery of journalism and itself after one of its journalists was exposed blatantly disregarding the truth by distorting the meaning of a non-binding Senate Resolution and the views of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on the Obama administration’s United Nations-backed war in Libya. Now, critics of the network and supporters of the Senator are demanding an apology. After poking fun at Sarah Palin for her criticism of the regime’s war, MSNBC personality Lawrence O’Donnell awarded Sen. Rand Paul a prize for being the “most confused” Tea Partier regarding U.S. military intervention in Libya. But the only person exposed as possibly ...

This week, House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan introduced his budget for FY 2012. The media and politicians alike are either swooning over it or chastising it depending on their particular slant. Some are applauding it as a bold proposal; others attempt to cast it in apocalyptic terms - seniors will be dying in the streets, Ryan hates puppies and kittens - that sort of thing. To be fair, Chairman Ryan's proposal isn't necessarily bad, is certainly a step above what the GOP has been debating about all year so far, and is definitely more serious of a budget than President Obama's. The specific problem I have is with the long-term nature of Ryan's proposal. In theory, it ...
