Obama acts like a dick at ground zero Post Date: 2011-05-06 08:57:21 by no gnu taxes

After greeting her with a hug, the back of Obamas head was all that Debra Burlingame saw after she asked the president a question vital to the CIA and national security. On the heels of the death of Osama Bin Laden, President Barack Obama set-up a May 5th meeting between 9/11 families and first responders. It was there that Debra Burlingame stepped forward as a citizen soldier. On behalf of CIA interrogators who face trial for waterboarding 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Burlingame asked the logical question. Since the efforts of CIA interrogators helped lead Obama to Bin Ladens whereabouts, Burlingame asked Obama if he will intervene with Attorney-General Eric Holder ...
The GOP Jobs Plan That Wasn't Post Date: 2011-05-06 08:55:47 by go65

Its been over three months since Republicans took control of the House of Representatives and strengthened their caucus in the Senate. The central premise of the GOP midterm campaign was that it could create badly needed jobsthe Republican National Committee drove a bus through the lower 48 states emblazoned with the slogan: Need a Job? Fire Pelosi! Now, after focusing its initial legislative efforts on repealing ObamaCare, pushing Tea Party-backed dreams like a balanced budget amendment, and fighting to strip regulatory agencies of their authority, the GOP has finally released a job plan
that consists of a balanced budget amendment, the repeal of ...
9/11 families to Obama: 'Thank you for doing what you promised Post Date: 2011-05-06 08:53:34 by go65

President Obamas visit to ground zero on Thursday was all about handshakes and hugs not high fives to celebrate the death of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, an architect of the 9/11 terrorism attack. It had its poignant moments, such as the president's meeting with young Payton Wall of Rumson, N.J., who lost her father, Glen, on that September day and then wrote Mr. Obama to tell him how she has handled the loss. It had some symbolism Obama laying a red, white, and blue wreath at the foot of the Survivor Tree originally planted at the World Trade Center site in the 1970s. It was rescued from the smoldering ruins of the site and nursed back to health. ...

While Barack Obama spends his time running victory laps around the country over the killing of Osama Bin Laden, the American economy is careening toward a dangerous cliff. Royal Weddings, Obamas multiple birth certificates, and absurd arguments about the NFL lockout dominate the news while daily Americans get poorer. Obamanomics is a disaster. A greater disaster hasnt been visited on the United States in our economic history because we are taking no substantial steps toward recovery. The real news, which should be screaming from every television and newspaper isnt pro Obama, therefore, it is ignored. Here are the stories on which we should be focusing. The US dollar ...
Survivors, families of 9/11 victims get quality time with President Obama after WTC visit Post Date: 2011-05-06 08:51:25 by go65

The microphone didn't work, but President Obama still made it clear to a roomful of 9/11 families Thursday he was there to listen - not to speak. When he walked into the 9/11 Memorial preview site on Vesey St., Obama received a rousing round of applause for unleashing Navy SEALs to snuff out Osama Bin Laden in his Pakistani lair. "He just said he made a commitment to find this man, and that he did this because of the 9/11 families. He said he did it for us," said Sally Regenhard, whose 28-year-old son, Christian, a Brooklyn probationary firefighter, was killed at the twin towers. "He said he could never fully understand the pain of having to lose a child, and he has ...

When he visited Ground Zero today, President Obama kept the ceremony deliberately low key to fend off suggestions he was revelling in the death of Osama Bin Laden. But that hasn't stop some relatives of the 9/11 victims criticising him for his 'self-congratulatory' handling of the killing. One, Debra Burlingame, said the president was 'using families in what is a transparent political ploy'. Her brother, Charles Burlingame, was the pilot whose plane crashed into the Pentagon. She said she was pleased Bin Laden had been killed, but was shocked when Mr Obama turned his back when she confronted him over the prosecution of the CIA agents who interrogated 9/11 mastermind ...

Burlingame is the sister of Chip Burlingame, who piloted the plane that terrorists hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11. Burlingame describes what happened. She told Obama: As a former attorney I know you cant tell the Attorney General what to do. And he said, No, I cant. But I said we that ...

Debra Burlingame, the sister of Charles "Chic" Burlingame (pilot of the plane that crashed into the Pentagon) met with President Obama today, along with other families who were victims of 9/11. Burlingame said she confronted Obama about Attorney General Eric Holder prosecuting the men who interrogated KSM, which may have produced intelligence leading us to bin Laden. Burlingame describes the encounter with Obama: "As a former attorney I know you can't tell the Attorney General what to do, he said, 'No, I can't.' But I said 'we -- that shouldn't stop you from giving your opinion. We wouldn't be here today if they hadn't done their jobs. ...
The reason Bush never “got” Osama is that the Democrats, for eight solid years, tried their damnedest to keep Bush from doing this Post Date: 2011-05-05 16:12:00 by no gnu taxes

And it doesnt help that the only reason Bush never got Osama is that the Democrats, for eight solid years, tried their damnedest to keep Bush from doing this. Warrantless wiretapping? Blocked, investigated, castigated by Obama and the Dems. Rendition? Ditto. Enhanced interrogations? Same. The Democrats tossed their wrenches into the works for eight years, and then? When they got the presidency, they not only kept going with all these programs, they amped them up and added some more. What they said was warmongering for Bush, is all good for Obama. The hypocrisy of the American Left wing knows no bounds, and this week was the best example Ive ever seen.
What free country? Obama wants to track your car mileage Post Date: 2011-05-05 16:03:50 by CZ82

What free country? Obama wants to track your car mileage Rick Moran This idea was floated last year but the reaction to it was so negative it disappeared. But with the deficit and debt climbing, Washington is desperate for extra cash to spend, so it is apparently being revived. In essence, the government wants to slap a a special tracking device in your car that would record the mileage you use, and then tax it. You'd pay the tax when you fill up at gas stations who also, we would assume, have special equipment to read the mileage on the device in your car. And if gas stations can read it, so can the government. And then there's the question of what other gizmos they might put ...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 26% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Thirty-five percent (35%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9 (see trends). This is just a two-point improvement since bin Ladens death, but it is the presidents best Approval Index rating in nearly three months. Some polls are suggesting a big bounce for the president from the bin Laden news, but those are generally comparing the presidents current numbers with results from about a month ago. Compared to a month ago, Rasmussen Reports ...

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld: CIA Director Panetta indicated that one of the individuals who provided important information had in fact been waterboarded
There was some confusion today on some programs, even one on FOX I think, suggesting that I indicated that no one who was waterboarded at Guantanamo provided any information on this. Its not true. No one was waterboarded at Guantanamo by the US military. In fact no one was waterboarded at Guantanamo period. Three people were waterboarded by the CIA away from Guantanamo and then later were brought to Guantanamo. And, in fact, as you pointed out the information from these individuals was critically ...
Budget talks: Republicans offer to seek common ground with Democrats Post Date: 2011-05-05 10:43:46 by go65

Senior Republicans conceded Wednesday that a deal is unlikely on a contentious plan to overhaul Medicare and offered to open budget talks with the White House by focusing on areas where both parties can agree, such as cutting farm subsidies. On the eve of debt-reduction talks led by Vice President Biden, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) said Republicans remain convinced that reining in federal retirement programs is the key to stabilizing the nations finances over the long term. But he said Republicans recognize they may need to look elsewhere to achieve consensus after President Obama excoriated us for a proposal to privatize Medicare. That search could start, ...

An Al Qaeda suspect who was subjected to harsh interrogation techniques at a secret CIA prison in early 2004 provided a clue, the nom de guerre of a mysterious courier, that ultimately proved crucial to finding Osama bin Laden, officials said Wednesday. The CIA had approved use of sleep deprivation, slapping, nudity, water dousing and other coercive techniques at the now-closed CIA "black site" in Poland where the Pakistani-born detainee, Hassan Ghul, was held, according to a 2005 Justice Department memo, which cited Ghul by name. Two U.S. officials said Wednesday that some of those now-prohibited practices were directed at Ghul. Ghul was not waterboarded, the notorious ...
Time to Bring Obama Back to Earth: National Gas Price Average to Hit $4 This Week Post Date: 2011-05-05 09:40:57 by no gnu taxes

The celebration of the leadership of Barack Obama will soon be over. Americans are about to pay a national average of $4 a gallon for gasoline, which will further hurt the economy. After all, these gas prices do resemble Obama's leadership. Through Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner working with the Federal Reserve to flood the economy with new dollar bills, they have made the dollars we bring home to feed our families worth less and less therefore driving up costs. As well, Obama has gone out of his way to ensure higher energy costs by putting more restrictions on drilling for domestic oil and pushing cap and trade through an executive order. Yup, it won't take Long for Obama to ...
The Sacrificial Presidency of George W. Bush Post Date: 2011-05-05 09:19:54 by no gnu taxes

"Yeah, we waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed," former President George W. Bush told an audience in Grand Rapids, Michigan in June 2010. "I'd do it again to save lives." When Bush said this a year ago, the howls from the left weren't as loud as usual. And why would they be? The "angry left," as Bush called it -- and felt it more acutely than anyone bestriding the planet -- didn't care much anymore. Waterb oarding had been a tool for the left's purposes: to demonize and defeat Bush. It had usefulness just as Iraq once had. It had gotten the Democrats not only a gigantic Congressional majority but also the presidency, ensuring $800-billion ...

A FEARLESS four-legged recruit joined US Special Forces as they stormed Osama Bin Laden's secret lair. The explosive-sniffing dog was strapped to an assault team member as they took on one of their greatest challenges to date. He was part of the operation in which the elite US Navy Seals lowered themselves down ropes from three Black Hawk helicopters into the terrorist supremo's hideout in the town of Abbottabad, Pakistan, on Sunday. The world's most wanted man, 54, was shot dead by a Special Forces marksman during the raid. Heavily armoured hounds equipped with infrared night-sight cameras have been used in the past by the top-secret unit. The war dogs ...
The Students with Bush on 9/11: The Interrupted Reading Post Date: 2011-05-04 17:31:58 by no gnu taxes

There has rarely been a starker juxtaposition of evil and innocence than the moment President George W. Bush received the news about 9/11 while reading The Pet Goat with second-graders in Sarasota, Fla.
Seven-year-olds can't understand what Islamic terrorism is all about. But they know when an adult's face is telling them something is wrong - and none of the students sitting in Sandra Kay Daniels' class at Emma E. Booker Elementary School that morning can forget the devastating change in Bush's expression when White House chief of staff Andrew Card whispered the terrible news of the al-Qaeda attack. Lazaro Dubrocq's heart started racing because he assumed they were all in trouble - with ...

Sen. John McCain denounced advanced interrogation methods like waterboarding Wednesday amid a growing debate over its effectiveness reopened by the killing of Osama bin Laden. McCain told reporters leaving an intelligence briefing for senators by CIA director Leon Panetta that he has seen no information so far to indicate that techniques like waterboarding factored significantly in the information gathering that led to bin Ladens death. So far I know of no information that was obtained, that would have been useful, by advanced interrogation. In fact, according to published reports
some of the key people who knew about this courrier denied ...
